Be patient, a picture in a magazine is hardly the sweeping presentation that ironhide got...
But, I mean, what were you expecting? The original figure was already pretty much perfect, and had more gimmicks than most mp's have, do you want that dumb chest pounding gimmick kept or something?
This was clearly made to celebrate bw and to give us the o/p that was in the show; hopefully he'll have cool pop-out lasers and the rocket pack and stuff.
What am I expecting? That depends on the final price, honestly. I simply will not pay a masterpiece level price point for A generations level figure

Hold on just a sec there. The first image we got was of a PERFECT gorrila mode. I am realizing now that it was probably just a statue but that is still how they presented this to us. It would have simialr robot mode articulation in gorilla mode and stand upright and not show any robot bits.
These new shots dont show us this. I expected a perfect alt mode. And I dont think it is an unreasonable expectation when they presentes us with JUST the alt mode.

Yeah, the elbows are pretty weird, those probably could've been changed I think, but that is how he looked in the toy and the show; Did you think his shoulder pads would come out of nowhere, or that he would panel-form all the fur into the backpack or something?
He will do stuff, he looks to have great poseability, and the ability to stand up in beast mode, and he has cartoon accurate heads. If this were a G1 figure people would probably be all over it despite any apparent flaws (cough hotrod 2.0 cough)

I didnt say I want a statue, I said he was presented to us looking perfect, so of course everything less than perfect is a bit of a letdown. And the Mastepriece line has already made pretty nice miracles so far like the entire bottom half of Sideswipe. And Hotrod has plenty of hate.

Its HUGE for me, hence why I am being so darn scrupulous. I would love an MP primal, but if its just to be similar to the old toy but upgrade a bit, then I would be dissapointed. Right now it looks similar to an update as Gen Rattrap is. Nothing wrong with that, but not MP.

You can always get the one that came out last year:[/quote
This is the one I might be getting for Christmas.
It has the new head and chest of the 10th anni version, but how does it stack up to the telemocha in terms of deco?

I knew the moment I saw no panel lines that this was a reference model, so this wasn't a disappointment to me *shrug*

I am excited. But no matter the excitement level, I'm not going to over pay for a toy.

Well, I certainly back that notion, but I still think people are putting too much store by something that was clearly not meant to be anything but a reference point/show-piece

Normally I'd agree with you, but lately my first impressions have been holding up.
