Sabrblade wrote:What robot kibble are you guys seeing in that unfinished beast mode CG render? The feet?william-james88 wrote:MR Optimus Prime wrote:I got last year's legends and I am glad I did. That figure would be perfect with only filling in some outside plastic, and painting the exterior white/red that of his fur. So this new MP Primal has no excuse for robot parts simply becuase of the original figure.
Yup! Could not have said so better myself.
Think about it guys, would any excuse fly for an MP BW Megatron to have some robot mode kibble in Beast Mode?!

Feet and butt cheeks

But here is my question, how is it more perfect than this:
Articulated fingers, more show-accurately sculpted thighs and hips, likely no intrusive gimmick that inhibits arm movement*, show-accurately-sculpted shoulder pads, likely no gorilla back kibble attached to his missile launchers, no unpaintable plastic light gray gorilla ears sticking out the sides of his darker-colored torso, no unpaintable plastic light gray elbows or shoulders, etc.william-james88 wrote:Tyberion wrote:That robot mode is pretty much perfect. The RobotMasters/Telemocha Series/Legend Commander Collection mold fixed some, but not all, of these issues.
* - Seriously, the Ultra class Primal toy has no free arm movement. His arms are all tied to a gear-based gimmick that allows him to either beat his chest in beast mode or spin his sword-swinging arms around in robot mode. His arms can't freely move in any which way without somehow gutting the gimmick (which I did to mine). Otherwise, any which way one tries to move one of his arms will in turn cause his opposite arm to move in some random motion on its own.
This kind of question really just depends on how much one wants a show-accurate toy. Your MP Magnus vs. Generations Magnus is a good example of this. Generations Magnus is a good toy, but looks completely wrong for one who'd want a show-accurate version of Magnus, which the MP delivers on.william-james88 wrote:Ok sunds good. Now here is my other question, would a generations version be that different from this MP? I am prety cure it wouldnt have arituclated figures but what would it be aside from that?

It really truly would. Look at G Rattrap and Rhinox: liberties taken in bot mode (some major, some subtle) and beast modes certainly are not the cute cartoon models. This MP Primal evokes the cartoon model quite faithfully. A G Primal would likely have a pretty faithful bot mode, but more realistic angry king kong looking gorilla.william-james88 wrote:would a generations version be that different from this MP? Has that been stated? I assumed his size and price would be more along the lines of the Autobot cars.william-james88 wrote:I just picture the price now of about 10000 Yen and wonder why it would cost that much.
Do you have MP Magnus? If you have them both in your hands, you'll find that missing hundred bucks.william-james88 wrote:Like with MP Magnus. It is a good toy, no argument there. But it was pretty easyto get Gen Magnus for 40$ while the MP was about 150$. Was the diffrence between the two woth at least 100$?

Tyberion wrote:I get what you mean william-james88, about the price.
I got the Hasbro Devastator, I knew the TT version had been paint apps and Long Haul and Scrapper had better articulation but I knew I would want to keep my Devastator in combined form and so the difference was not worth the extra $100 it would have cost here to get the TT version.
