Skywarp also looks drastically better then the Starscream, also just the value of getting the 2 toys for the price of Prime alone is a great reward for waiting to buy this instead of Prime and Screamer.
I also find that the arm guns look a lot better in his hands instead of on the arms as usual, also this way I do not have to mod the guns to make him be able to hold them straight in robot mode, it was one of the reasons I had to return Starscream when I got him.
This is the first time I have ran into some guys that tried to jerk me around and not sell me the item, the guy was smart enough to know about street dates but could not read the gun( I was armed with the DCPI # and used the scanners to tye it in to see if it was in stock) since he was incompetent he did not know the difference between their reset date and the street date, obviously in the gun it should differentiate the 2 dates, of course this Target is where my gf found Full House Season % like 2 weeks early, and he was in that section stocking so he must have got in trouble since that did have a street date.
I work at Traget, DVD's are alot different than toys.
DVD street dates are set by the makers of the DVD, and since a Walmart screw up years back with selling an early release of a DVD caused other stores to lose money on the sale of the DVD, so they decided to add stiff penalties to all stores.
As for this, it's an Target exclusive, so more than likely a sales planner with a date was set, possibly due to limited quantities.
As far as this toy goes the set dates and street dates are the same. The only thing is the product arrives early and held until a street date. The dvd boxes have a warning on them, and if you're blind you can still see it. These toys are tied to just a sales planner. More than likely an encap will be made for these items. 6 items come to a case, so maybe 3 to 6 cases per store. Hopefully Ramjet and Cliffjumper will round out in the new case assortments...so it will be soon.
Also note, depending on the store, if the item is dated, they may not sell it to you, I know because if the sales planner has specifics on the item, it will be a no go.
Also to break open a case for one item, means the remaining will have to be backstocked or flexxed out on the sales floor. Which means if all get sold, the remaining stock will be replenished the next day, or more than likely that night.
Which could mean the stock could run out before the street date, so some stores will probaly not sell. And guess what, they don't have to.
You need to be careful getting a hold of too many DCPI numbers. Go easy with them folks. Just giving you a heads up!!
I spoke with the toy team leader, and he said it was fine for me to buy it. Since I work on store resets, I kinda waited until today to get one...although, I could have just did a subtraction myself a week ago.
