I will agree with you on how he runs in the field though. He runs just like Prime did when he was under the bridge.

I did watch it again last night (wanted to hear the commentary) and yes, there is no house. But the trees are the same kind as the ones the poolbot hides behind. Also, poolbot has a vent crest type thingy on his forhead, and so does Ironhide. Prime does not. Further evidence poolbot is Ironhide. And when he runs away from the choppers under the bridge, it's the exact same style of turning and running as fieldbot.

I'm not trying to convince anybody of anything. I'm just stating that there isn't enough evidence for us to know who is who. We can guess, and it is sure fun to do so ...

... i'm just aggravated at some of those in other threads that discuss this, and how they can be SOooo sure.

I guess my post was a bit angry, doesn't make sense to anyone who didn't read my earlier posts. Even then ... I'm just fighting a battle I cannot win, and my added emotion isn't helping my cause.

If it flows fine for you ... awesome. Not for me at all. I could come up with a million reasons to justify my own analysis of this. Also, I could think of ways to defend your view point just as easily.

The simple fact being ... nobody wants to read that long of a post. :P I'd be surprised if anyone finishes reading this one ...

The fact that there are such debates about it proves that the landings weren't thought out very well. The protoforms all look somewhat similar, so it has an overall generic feel to it. Don't get me wrong, it's quite awesome to watch. It would just be nice if they made it a little more obvious on who is who.

The only obvious one for me is Prime. In the pool. LOL! Everyone else thinks it's Ironhide? This kills me. It's fine though, because one of the great things in life is that we all can see the same things ... in a different way.

It just really looks like Prime to me. It totally resembles him, as far as his build and certain details that I mentioned previously. His standing tall on top of that hill, right before the highway truck scan ... looks like the exact same bot that came from the pool. I haven't watched the scene in a while, but the legs are what I remember focusing on ... for the most part.

It looks enough like Prime, for me to ignore the order in which everything takes place.

oh my this post is long but i read it
and you make a good point on the "It's fine though, because one of the great things in life is that we all can see the same things ... in a different way." line

Me, Grimlock! wrote:Was it Jazz who landed int he field or was that Prime/Ironhide? I say "the field" as in the one in the ad that gouged out the hill and then landed. It was Jazz who was "more awesome than Armageddon," right? Just trying to remember. It's been a few weeks since I last saw it.

Jazz was the one that crashed into the stadium whereas, Ratchet landed near the cafe...where the teen expressed the "more awesome than Armageddon" comment. In terms of the Prime/Ironhide one, I am still leaning towards that Ironhide crashed into the pool and Prime was in the field even though AlienQuikSilver had some very good points.

This may help clarify some things. I'm not saying yes or no that it's Prime in the pool, I have my personal view on it, but here's all the screencaps I have on the subject.

One thing you might notice right away is that they all have large forearms, and they all seem to have a forehead crest the way that Prime does. To my eyes there are some size differences, but really they all look pretty much alike in protoform. I don't know if they used the same cgi models to save money figuring noone would notice, but they all look really similiar.

We see this...
Image

Then we see Ratchet roll out.
Image

Then we see this...
Image

Jazz scans the Solstice.
Image

Then the debate, is it Prime or Ironhide?
Image

Image

Image

Image

after you see the bot hiding behind the tree you see this..
Image

Then we see the Highway scene
Image

trucks passes and Primes getting ready to roll..
Image

The reason I'm led to believe it's not Prime in the pool is simply that they established Ratchet and Jazz, then if the pool bot is Prime, that means the only look we get at Ironhide is the blackpickup truck with the GMC logo sliding up the grill? Personally I think they showed Ratchet, then Jazz, then Ironhide, and ended with Prime.

I also have a pic of Ironhides foot to compare to the pool foot, but then again your comparing protoforms against thier altered modes.

Image

Hope it helps at least one or two people make up thier minds. Debates are fun, but they're more fun when we can all look at the same images and debate them.

Well no wonder everyone is getting confused. They used the same model for Ironhide and Prime. Probably figured no one would notice and it would save time for such a small part of the movie. Obviously, Jazz would need his own as he is much smaller and easily recognisable, and we don't see Ratchet proto (do we?) so using the same one makes sense from their viewpoint. Then we get disscussions like these. I'm going with poolbot = Ironhide since the trees poolbot hides behind are the same ones seen in the background when Ironhide transforms.
