Yes to all of the above! It a different finish feel (as it is painted) but the plastic has the same denseness. Joints are super tight and ratchetey, so far he's totally worth it

He is SUPER nice Cary! I honestly can't believe it's a "KO", and I mean they had to upsize it and everything from the original design, but it's not the same so it's it really a KO or just a non-original remanufacturing of the original? 
He really is awesome Shaj, I'm not sure I was ready for how awesome. He does have the chrome gold everywhere 8X does and the AWESOME silver, but I think it's closer to the gold on the standard Grimlock as far as color. I feel the 8X has saturated colors more so than this. And he checks off all the boxes for me: metallic silver, black/red/regular gold, upsized! I have the adapters for the KFC Delta Magnus articulated hands, so once those get here he'll be pretty dang perfect. And now I HAVE THE DINOBOT WANTS! DID YOU SEE HIM WITH RATCHET AND WHEELJACK?!

Also, Freeway.
QC = as good as any of the MPs I already have, and better than Apollyon. Plastic is sturdy, no blemishes on the chrome, paint doesn't seem to flake, tail/head gimmick works, TIGHT joints, smooth ratchets. If Apollyon was THIS good I'd have more Third Party stuff! They even greased the plastic using bushing grease on the ratchets! You know what I mean, the same grease you use on urethane bushings and stuff for suspension components in your car. It's awesome stuff and stays where it is supposed to!

I may be in the minority here, but I truly do not care about MP Inferno (or the Alert+) and I'm disappointed that the design time wasn't used towards a NEW MP Megatron OR Galvatron. I have no attachment to Inferno. I want Megatron. And Galvatron. Yesterday.

Same here, I don't care about Inferno. Maybe Grapple because I owned the G1. But yeah, when they made Magnus and a new Hotrod I thought it was the beginning of them sprinkling some sweet TFTM figures in between the S1-2 cast. I guess I really don't have any attachment to anyone in G1 Season 2 and thought we'd get some better things from Takara due to TF:TM's 30th. BUT, did TF:TM come out in Japan in 1986? Or was it 1987? And maybe I thought we'd get official responses to some of the 3rd party figures out there (like we did with Shockwave, and Magnus, and the vans). So that means: Insecticons, Reflector, Hound, Sunstreaker, Galvatron, Dinobots, and Inferno/Grapple..which of THOSE would you want official of over Inferno?!

Speaking of ToyWorld..I'm finding myself very interested in some ToyWorld items, mostly Infinitor but probably Orion too. Let's put it this way, if I did end up with Orion and his head upgrade I'd be selling 5-10 more Optimus Primes
I mention Infinitor as I have NO Fortress Maximi (lame, I know), and I'm obviously getting Fortress Maximus from Titans Returns ('cause robots) but I'm not sure I want to pick him up AND THEN the upgrade set for him just to have TWO representations. I really wouldn't mind a Fortress figure in MP scale (I have a feeling Warden may be mentioned..) but I don't think Infinitor really represents Fortress as much as Fortress Maximus. Although it has been mentioned he would work great as a Marvel Comics representation, so that would kinda be neat with the other G1 HeadTitan Masters this year..

Speaking of ToyWorld..I'm finding myself very interested in some ToyWorld items, mostly Infinitor but probably Orion too. Let's put it this way, if I did end up with Orion and his head upgrade I'd be selling 5-10 more Optimus Primes
I mention Infinitor as I have NO Fortress Maximi (lame, I know), and I'm obviously getting Fortress Maximus from Titans Returns ('cause robots) but I'm not sure I want to pick him up AND THEN the upgrade set for him just to have TWO representations. I really wouldn't mind a Fortress figure in MP scale (I have a feeling Warden may be mentioned..) but I don't think Infinitor really represents Fortress as much as Fortress Maximus. Although it has been mentioned he would work great as a Marvel Comics representation, so that would kinda be neat with the other G1 HeadTitan Masters this year..
