Replacement aside, it is sad to see him go. I've thoroughly enjoyed his run, especially with Bill by his side.
As for the Christmas special, loved it. David Bradley did a fantastic job stepping into the shoes of William Hartnell. Got a kick out of the interaction between 60's era sexist Doctor and modern era Bill. Shows how far the show and each Doctor has come.
Was not surprised as to who the Captain turned out to be. Very touching, and good to know that the Lethbridge-Stewarts are still very much a part of DW. Well, hopefully anyway. This episode was also about Moffatt tieing things up.
I do look forward to the new series, to see how she goes, more so now that the Tardis channelled the raging fans and rejected the new Doctor in a fit of flames.
