Yeah... I have a family member who runs a drop in shelter for homeless kids/teens/young adults. You wouldn't find me ever saying "all parents love their kids unconditionally." Because some of those kids stories prove that nor only do not all parents live their kids unconditionally some parents darn near HATE their kids. The stories some of those kids tell about their backgrounds would curdle your blood.

PS ~ I'm pretty sure your comment wasn't aimed at me. I'm just adding to it.

Yeah, it was aimed at Shadowman.

Seen and heard horrible sh*t parents do to their children, sometimes even waaaaaaaaaaaaay to close to home, like that guy used to know who's parents almost let him suffocate on asthma because they would much rather sleep than drive him to the hospital, luckily he did still have some of his spray left.

Why not? She is, by her own admission "bananas." Teleportation by suicide seems like a good idea to a crazy enough individual. Aside from which, The Master has died how many times by now? He used up his first 13 bodies, and he's had at least five bodies since then. Killing him/herself just to get around might not seem like that big an issue anymore.

Where was it stated that The Master has used up all 13 of his bodies? As of now there have been 7 actors and 1 actress to take on the roll. I never watched Doctor Who before it was restarted so not sure if this is info from the old series or from the comics.

From the old series. He used up all his regenerations, got himself killed and then somehow came back by taking over someone else's body, then got executed and turned himself into a snake thing that used human host bodies to sustain itself, then got resurrected by the Time Lords to serve as their ultimate weapon or some such BS.

Basically, every ridicules Superhero comic death and resurrection has been done in Doctor Who and then some. I don't understand why they even bother to making it look like someone or something dies "for realsies" anymore, every time they kill off the Daleks for good, or the Cybermen or the toaster rapists, I just roll my eyes and eagerly await the next time they show up again.

Hmmm maybe the Dragon Balls will be used to grant the Doctor another 13 lives...........bahaha

It's in the old series, during the fourth doctors adventures. It was there way of dealing with the fact the first master had died. It wasn't long though before he stole a new body but still was unable to regenerate. He was even offered a pardon and a complete new regeneration cycle by the time lords in the five doctors special. Once the time war began though the time lords brought him back to fight and gave him a new lifecycle, I'm guessing they pulled him out of the eye of harmony as thats where he was trapped.

The rest is history.

Well watched the children in need special preview and apart from offering some funny takes on where presents come from, it didn't look that great though considering it was the first few minutes (it feels like these bits get shorter every year).

Clara is definitely back not sure if she just happened to be there or what. Guess at the end of this we'll find out if she's sticking around.
Oh and apparently Michelle gomez will be back as missy.

They should do an original short story for Children in Need like they did with Time Crash a few years ago.

That's what I keep hoping for, we get it sometimes in comic relief like the one with the eleventh doctor, Rory and Amy a few years ago or the one combining one born every minute + call the midwife + doctor who...that was a weird one.

Amy's dead. Her story was wrapped up. The only chance you'd have of Karen Gillan returning would be flashback, ghost, or as a different character.

But if they're going to bring back dead companions then Adric should return.

What about Jamie? I liked him, plus he didn't die (at least not on the show). The time Lords put him back.

Then take the time machine that happens to be the central theme of this show to a point in time where she isn't dead.

And while we're on the subject of returning companions, I kind of expected Ian to show up during "The Caretaker."

I was expecting more to turn up during the 50th last year. Another companion I wouldn't mind seeing again is Ace, the seventh doctors run was a favourite of mine, some good episodes there and I liked some of the ideas they were playing around with, like the doctor playing chess against seemingly no one till a few adventures later and it turns out he's playing against Fenric.

The first episode of season 9 is called The Magician's Apprentice.

I feel this is almost a full confirmation that Clara is leaving. Three reasons: one, there are already rumors she's leaving the show; two, the Doctor already compared himself to a magician "I was going for minimalist but I think I ended up with magician"; three, the title itself is implying that a magician (the Doctor) get's an apprentice (companion)

The problem is there's not much left to do with Clara, in my opinion at least.. She's the doctors assistant, not the doctor. Still, I look forward to seeing capledi in action again, just hope hes given darker stuff to work with.

That was one of the better Christmas specials I've seen since the series returned.

Loved Nick Frost as Santa, and really enjoyed him standing up to The Doctor.

Clara? Yeah ... Clara was a bit annoying.

Michael Troughton's (son of Patrick) role wasn't much. Most people probably wouldn't have even realized he's the son of the second Doctor.

Now for the long wait ...

Santa was awesome, loved the Alien nods.

Something that's been bothering me since marathoning the whole show is, that for a show that's supposed to be sci-fi, it relies an awful lot on faith. Usually it's believe in the Doctor and everything turns out good, here it was believe in Santa, which to be honest, was a nice change of pace actually.

I think there should have been a final scene where Santa discards a dream crab.
