Because Sam woke up Saturday morning and thought his car was getting stolen. He followed it and saw BB in robot mode send the signal.

It was later that Saturday day when Satan's Camaro turned up on his garden and started following him, prompting the chase that led him to the run in with Barricade and into Saturday night/Sunday Morning.

I say Saturday because he was at school the day before and got his car bought that afternoon. Friday.

Of course, this is all speculation on my part, but it all fits.

Did Bumblebee really use his Bat-Signal style light to call the others, were they watching Thundercats at the time they were writing this?

If that’s the biggest problem you have with the movie, I’m worried about you.

I just noticed this topic and figured I'd take a whack at it:

The city:

Confusion. Cities are big and if your enemy has a head start you have a lot of ground to cover. And your enemy can catch you off guard and take you out since they can track you when you enter. Also, it buys time for reinforcements to arrive. At the dam, the enemy knew where they were and could destroy the dam to knock them off their feet and take them out as they get their bearings. I don't know if the hollowed out base could survive but they would be trapped underwater and surrounded.

Megs and Allspark next to each other:

They knew both objects came from space, and possibly the same location. They could study both objects and learn how they both work.

Evil newborn TF's:

I say the feral explanation is probably the correct one. The explanation that they were reverse engineered from Megs makes no sense. But being confused and not knowing what is going on would make them act in a defensive manner.

Glasses:

I have a theory that explains why they couldn't use the images and why they knew the Allspark's location although it was moved.

Although it was called a map, the only map it had was that of the Earth. It functioned more like a tracking device and was designed to home in on the Allspark's energy signature.

That's it for now, I may do more later.

Easy, Deceps know Military has largest database on Earth, the attack Quatar, get info on "iceman" who was found by cpt Witwicky- whos closest living relative is Sam. In the report shows glasses with map - Bumbleebee finds out thats what thier looking for an intercepts Sam first.

I know a guy who was at Botcon but he never mentioned that. Although he didn't mention everything from the interview. Anyone else here go to the interview and can confirm?

But how would the humans know the map existed to put it in the report?

I think your answer to the first question is the official explanation (from Orci).

About the need for a shielding in space
This is the most puzzling of all holes... Maybe they can indeed survive in space in alt form, but in robot form the heat insulation around their spark is too weak. If you look carefully, when the Autobots came through the atmosphere parts of the 'balls' actually were chipped off of them, so its possible that they came not in protoform alone, but in protoform plus extra thermal shielding, designed to protect them from excessive heat or cold.

About the bat-signal of Bumblebee
When he did that, the Autobots were close enough to Earth to notice an optical signal.

How did Megatron get his energy back after he crash landed on Earth all those years ago?

I'm guessing either Energon (if it's ever mentioned) in the area gave him some energy if it was in a stable form like in BW how pre-historic Earth had large amounts of Energon fields.

Or when Sector 7 was doing all those tests and such, they could've done something like give Megs energy.

Unlikely, with all the flying around he did after reactivation and firing his canon, if he had that much energy in reserve and he was so close to finding the cube he would not have saved it for reactivation, he would have gone after the cube, im sure it would have recharged him.

You would think that at the time they started "reverse engineering" way back when, they would have to power him up or at least parts of him to see how it works to get concepts for our now consumer tech ... but if that were the case, would his life support kick in and shield him from the cold then

I can't answer that one. I think it would have been cooler to have a real city in there, which I figured at first, that it was LA (where it was filmed) but then after thinking about it... LA is a couple hundred miles from Las Vegas/Hoover Dam. No sense... But Lennox does say Mission City, which doesn't exist.

Maybe they got lost.

The blade most likely cut a critical wire, causing him to shut down due to power loss.

You can enjoy a movie and still make light of its flaws. For example, the animated Transformers movie has many parts you could rift on and pick apart, but by doing so that doesn't mean you don't like the movie.

When Mikaela decapitated Frenzy, she cut off his whole head, but when he commited accidental suicide, he cut his head in half, destroying his "brain".

When they decided to take the cube into the city, they said, we cant make a stand without the Air Force, why? Why would they need air support in the city

The Autobots were most likely brought up to speed by Bumblebee, and I don't recall any of the humans having any knowledge of the map at all.

my guess is that Bumblebee was tracking "witwhicky" in much the same manner as Frenzy.

I would have thought that Lennox's line of reasoning was someing along the lines of: "These things turn into cars n stuff, maybe we can hide in the city (where theres lots of other cars) and get the jump on them!". Maybe he was hoping to make the Cube harder to trace, by masking its emissions amongst the background EM generated by the city?? Plus buildings offer some limited air-cover - although this would also hamper the air-support he was counting on...

If I'm not mistaken, the TF as a species "feed" by passively absorbing energy from ambient sources. Now, Ice-Age Earth wouldn't have too many of these laying around, but I'd imagine 70 odd years of being surrounded by primitive (read: energy wasting) electronic equipment, with no expenditure due to being frozen in "stand-by" mode would do wonders for Ol' Meg's Batteries.

Right before BB shows in the backyard Sam says good morning to Mojo and that it is too early to start barking...Must be morning and the car chase took all day.

When Megatron crash landed he shut himself down...Just like my laptop, when I shut it down, it doesn't use the battery or electricity.
