Decepticon Nitro has landed! Nitro is an intriguing release as he is the first "new" character The TLK toyline has done a mold for in the Voyager size class. Nitro's design almost entirely comes from the KSI boss designed by Josh Nizzi and presented in The Age of Extinction film, while the head is new. Like his wavemate Scorn, his weapons, a crossbow and chaingun, are incorporated into his bot mode. For accessories he includes two missile add ons. His most famous feature is his removable head and compatibility with titan masters. Finally, this figure has a total of 35 steps to his transformation. Thats more steps than either aoe leader figure, and more than double the steps of two aoe voyager figures! I enjoy a challenge and this figure definitely gave me that. I am stoked to see Hasbro give us something complex, with fun play figures, and still keeping it a voyager class.
His alt mode is a generic fighter jet, with a fully functioning cockpit for titan masters to ride in. I like the muted colors, as it allows the jet to hide well in other displays, whereas a flashier color scheme would have felt less appropriate. Refreshingly this figure does not suffer from robot underneath carriage syndrome, as the jet mode hides the bot parts pretty well. There is fold out landing gear in the front of the jet, and molded in wheels for the back.
His robot mode features 18 points of articulation, a ball jointed head, double shoulder swivel, arm swivels, elbow joints, adjustable mini gun, double thigh swivels, leg swivels, knee joints, feet swivel. Theres plenty of molded detail included two miniguns at his shoulders. Decepticon Nitro cuts an imposing figure.
Hasbro could have easily mailed it in for wave 3 and offered repaints, i am floored that this figure was even made. Super complex, and very fun. Highly recommended.
TLDR
Titan master compatibility with head
Fully functioning cockpit in jet mode
Weapons incorporated into bot mode
Complex transformation ( Think ROTF era but less frustrating)
