Got two right. Though to be fair, the Lions did give up before the game even started. Talk about absolutely sloppy play from the little cats. Lio Convoy would be ashamed to call himself a Lion if he witnessed that game.

Miami and Dallas was a great game. Other than the results where the Dolphins let the Cowboys march to get the chip shot field goal, it was the perfect bridge game.

Great Ravens/Niners game so far, shame it is being so one sided towards the rotting carrion eaters. I hope for a miracle, but I am not going to expect salvation with all the poor calls on bothsides being called.

3-0. :D

But that Cowboys-Dolphins game was more fun than I thought it would be. And Ravens-49ers was just, well, typical.

I see a season-long suspension in Suh's future. Jackass. I remember Haynesworth doing that to Cowboys C Andre Gurode a few years ago when he was with Tennessee. Jeff Fisher kicked his ass out of the training facilities for the rest of the season.

No matter how many time Suh says "I'm not dirty, I just play hard", all we have to do now is point to this and say, "Bullsh!t." I also agree there is a suspension coming. However, I'm thinking it will be coming from Roger Goodell, not Jim Schwatz. He's already been fined $42,500. I expect this one to cost him $100,000 plus his remaining game checks. The question is: will he get the message?

My suspicion on the Dallas-Miami game was right, too. Miami should have won that game, but blew it in the end. Props though to them for never giving up on the game OR the season when it would have been very easy to do so.

I was JUST off on the Ravens-Niner game...but hey I got the point total right! Poor Alex Smith...now he knows what it's like to be Jay Cutler...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Yeah know we know that's BS. Oh well, Lions played sloppy and my packers defense held out long enough for Rodgers and co to get rolling (and helped a lot in getting them going in the first place), I'm pleased (also jennings showed up this week, thank god)

Now if we could learn how to tackle again... >_>

I'm going to throw this out there.

I hate Tim Tebow fans

The kid is a great guy and he has his place in the NFL, not as a starting QB. He has a monster defense, willis mcgahee is running like he's at miami again...and he gets all the credit. 5-1, sure, can't take that away from him. But let us look at a list.

John Skelton: 3-1 this year
Andy Dalton: Fighting for playoff contention and very well might just get it in a tough division
Brad Johnson: Won a Super Bowl
Mark Sanchez: 2 AFC championship games
Trent Dilfer: Won a Super Bowl
Rex Grossman: Made it to a Super Bowl
Kerry Collins: Made it to a Super Bowl
Matt Hasselback: Made it to a Super Bowl, made it to the playoffs and stunned the Saints at the saints.
Alex Smith: Heading a 9-2 49ers squad

If you catch my drift...why is Tebow so great at 5-1, NONE of these QBs are considered to be great This is getting ridiculous to a point where people are saying he's the best QB in the NFL, and specifically arguing that a Tebow-led Broncos would've beaten the Packers. This is stupid, this is asinine, people who are critical are now grouped as "haters" and this **** needs to stop right now I like the kid as a person, but his fans are just the worst people EVER, ESPECIALLY on ESPN.com

On another topic, San Diego should completely clean house, starting with norv, then phillip, then the rest of em. Trash franchise, trash team, needs to be take apart and dismembered entirely

You're pretty angry for being a fan of a team that's 11-0. Who cares about other teams other than your own? Sure he's 5-1 and I like him as I'm a Broncos fan, but that doesn't mean he's the messiah. 5-1 isn't winning the championship, nor is it winning the division (so far).

People just like to talk about the most exciting thing, and love to hype it up. For people to say he's the best QB in the NFL is an overstatement. No way in hell he's up to the caliber of Brees, Rodgers, Manning, or Brady yet but the Broncos are winning games in the 4th quarter that they generally have no business in winning. When that happens, people who aren't watching the entire game are going to associate all of that to, someone who's had the pedigree of winning in College, Tebow, not the Denver D.

Tebow brings alot of intangibles to the table that other QB's don't. But at the same time it's still going to be awhile before I'm going to be aneurysm free when watching these Broncos games. Whatever though, wins are wins and I'm not going to complain.

I'm getting angry when I'm categorized as a hater for trying to give legit criticism, when I see people literally shooting down any logical points I try to provide to this topic, when I see people categorizing tebow as top 5/greatest QB in the NFL when he amounts to a game manager that has great leadership skills. Its fine to be excited, its a completely different story when so many people are being ridiculous and going off the deep end about Tebow. I'm sorry, but this is a massive pet peeve of mine, one that partially spawns from most bears fans.

I don't care that people are excited about the broncos or tebow, but I get frustrated when I try to give legit criticism and get shot down as a "hater". I watched the game today, it was probably one of the best games I've seen in awhile, but it was pretty clear to me the broncos leaned pretty heavily on the defense (as the score suggests) and I see analysts get slammed on twitter for saying such.

Also on an off note, Shanon Sharpe is on the new American Dad at the moment.

Meh...you're right about Tebow not being a starter in the NFL right now. It could change down the road potentially, but who knows. I don't know of anyone who is saying he is the greatest, quite the opposite in fact. I can hardly believe the sheer hate spewed on Chicago talk radio (read: Boers and Bernstein, the asshats that they are) towards him. Personally, I'm happy for him. No matter what happens down the road, he can say he helped lead the team back from the brink of elimination. He didn't do it by himself, but he certainly is leading from the front. Credit where it's due.

I also agree on San Diego, but I don't think Phillips is part of the problem. All of this falls back on the coaches and GM. Phillips and Gates are athletes you can build around. I think a big part of the fall is the total lack of running game since they let Sproles and LT go. The loss of Ron Rivera as D coordinator was also a major blow, but that one couldn't be helped. I really think the GM should be the first to go, followed closely by Turner and his staff.

I did think that Hanie did a good job for the Bears once he settled in- the second half of the game was considerably better than the first half, and i think he earned a chance to start again next week.

Philly is out. I am pleased and amused. Dream Team huh? Reid will be gone after this season as well.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Yeah the hate from some people for Tebow is completely over the top as well at some points, I noticed that on ESPN.com as well.

And true, I suppose. Phillips just hasn't played very well this year at all, though one of my friends is speculating that he might have a hidden injury, which could very well be true. Also I figured Haine would do well, he DID almost beat the packers, and fared better than Cutler as well.

Okay, after watching the Saint-Giants game last night, I am convinced that Drew Brees is the best QB in the NFL over Rodgers by the tiniest of margins and here's why:

Rodgers has an amazing WR corps to throw two and a pro-bowl caliber TE. He has a good running game behind him that he can rely on and sets up the play-action. Brees has Colston and a bunch of no-name WRs and a rookie TE. He has no running support at all (imagine if he DID have it); yes Thomas and Ingram and Sproles are good RB's but not of the caliber of the Packers RBs- I know Ryan Grant has been a pro-bowler. Rodgers and Brees are both playing at a level that may have never been seen in NFL history, but I'm giving Brees the edge right now.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Brady has over 3600 yards for the season so far. Rodgers has 3400 and Brees 3300. Do you think Marino's record of 5084 yards will get surpassed this year, and if so, who will do it first?

I feel like you're overestimating Grant and underestimating the Saints:

1) Grant took a paycut to make sure he didn't get cut this year, and has been overshadowed by Starks...not saying much. None of our RBs has really shined this year, though we do have more of a power running game than the saints I wish we HAD ingram..

2) Outside of Jennings and Nelson, the corps are similar- basically, Rodgers has a far better number two than Brees, and Jennings is slightly better than Colston imo. The rest of their corps are roughly the same. Advantage Packers, yes, but I think you're underestimating the Saints WRs here.

3) I'd give the edge to the Saints core for talent depth for their RBs- Sproles, Pierre, and Ingram are a decent deal more talented as a group than Starks, Grant, and Kuhn.

4) Graham's not a rookie, and he honestly might be better than finley (scary thought) Finley at times vanishes and drops passes more than James Jones has this year, while Graham has been a consistent 100 yards and a TD pretty much all year long. However, our TE core is, well, amazing. Then again, we have like 5 TEs on our depth chart- hard to beat that :P

You can argue pretty much either way, though another point is that Rodgers is more mobile than Brees, so I'm not going BLARGH YOUR WRONG, but yeah. Both are definitely playing at a historic place, and its not out of the question that all three (counting Brady now) of those qbs eclipse Marinos yardage record imo. Right now between the two (Brees and Rodgers) I say push: Rodgers has the mobility over Brees, but Brees is also working with a less talented group of receivers (especially at the top)

Hard to say. While Brady has a Higher passing yard, Brees has a better average YPG (Brady 330, Brees 335. Not much but still.) Gun to my head, I'd favor Brees because he has come the closest. In 2008 Brees had a total yards of 5069. That is 15 yards from tieing, 16 yards from breaking. That is one good play, 2 average passing plays. That is a good motivation. If Brees keeps the 335 average, he will break the record by season end (335x16=5360). By that same token, Brady would also break the record, assuming he keeps the average up. (Brady 330x16=5280.)

And no, I don't have anything better to do with my day then look up stats.

So finally Jack Del Rio was shown the door. I think it's about 3-4 years too late. Replacement candidates? I say this is a perfect time for Jeff Fisher or Bill Cowher to get back into the game.

Also, the defensive coordinator of the Colts is gone, and there's talk that Jim Caldwell is on his way. I think that was a bad move on the Colts' part, as the defense isn't really a big problem there.

And lastly. the Lions' Suh got a 2 game suspension. 2 games that he probably wouldn't have made amuch of a difference in. They would have lost to the Packers with or without him and they would have beat the Vikings with or without him, I think. So he got off easy. I still say he should have got a suspension lasting the remainder of the season. If he endangers a player like that again, he should be suspended for the year, playoffs included. Maybe the loss of a possible Super Bowl opportunity and paycheck will set him straight.

also the houston texans have picked up delhomme...that SUCKS lol, he hasn't been good in years. Not surprised Del Rio's gone, the writing was on the wall when he dumped Garrad at the beginning of the year. Not surprising that colts are starting to clean house, you don't want to keep the staff around who went through a 2-14 or worse season unless you have just incredible reasons for such

The Colts are a playoff team with that staff and Peyton Manning. It's not the staff's fault Manning is unable to play. I don't think they should have been punished. Yes, going winless is embarrassing, but they haven't had any other big changes from last year besides the loss of Manning, and they made it into the playoffs.

Even so, they're missing one out of 53 players on that team. Losing one player, even a future Hall of Fame QB, shouldn't make a team drop so low. Hell, when the Pats lost Brady in '08 they still had a winning season, even if they did miss the playoffs.

Injuries happen and no one's going to make things easy for you. Regardless of how resilient Manning has been in his career, they should have had some sort of backup plan or suitable substitute for this sort of occasion.

Now given that this is the Colts first losing season in over a decade, you can understand if they give the coach a second chance. But it would also be reasonable if they decided to start over from scratch as well.

eh I tend to agree that the Colts got too cocky and their staff has to suffer the consequences of their inaction. They have had poor drafts over the last several years. Never bothering to groom successors at QB or even groom good defenders behind Freeney. Their runningbacks have all lived down to expectations so I can't say I am surprised there. And add to that their immediate reaction upon learning of Manning's inability to go for the season was to what? Grab Kerry Collins? Sorry ANY FRANCHISE THAT GOES AFTER COLLINS DESERVES TO HAVE THEIR COACHES FIRED! He was decent back in the day, but tell me, who would have been a better choice? Collins or Garcia? Sorry they deserve their fate.

I don't think Cower is going to end up in Jacksonville. Probably see him be given the keys to the Rams or Chargers. Jacksonville has alot of work that needs to be done and I for one don't see him wanting to invest as much time as he did in Pittsburgh to create a competitor down there. I could see Fisher going there just to snub the Titans though. Food for thought.

I also see Rob Ryan getting a shot as an HC sometime this offseason, perhaps with Colts themselves.

The trick about the Jacksonville job is this: will it actually BE in Jacksonville or would it end up elsewhere? THere are markets that are trying to get a team and care about getting one (then there are markets that are trying but just don't care). If they move, then the new ownership would be brilliant in brining in someone like Cowher...someone with a known track record of success that would put seats in the seats. And, outside of LA, what other markets are looking? I could say Portland, OR, or Oklahoma City could be potential targets. We really don't need another California team- they have three already- and Texas is probably out as well. Would they look north of the border? Montreal would be the only valid option there I think as Calgary and Vancouver are too close to Seattle (relatively) and Toronto is already eyeing Buffalo. The northeast is out, New York has three teams already, too. Could Albuquerque support a team? Or, if you want to go retro- and I know there has been discussion about this lately in the area- what about a second Chicago team? THe bottom line is this: the new coach will probably be hired by the new owners of the Jaguars. They would be wise to make a splash with the team being as piss poor as it is.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

eh I have heard from several of the talking heads, the NFL Committee is seriously considering telling LA to bite the bullet and pass on the Jaguars. Thus freeing them up to move them to London. Course thats not all that likely but one never knows. That would be a hell of a competition advantage and disadvantage to locate a team in London.

Sorry ANY FRANCHISE THAT GOES AFTER COLLINS DESERVES TO HAVE THEIR COACHES FIRED! He was decent back in the day, but tell me, who would have been a better choice? Collins or Garcia? Sorry they deserve their fate.

Still the wrong guy got fired. It wasn't the defensive coordinator's call to hire Collins, nor was it Caldwell's most likely. Why isn't the GM answering for this season? It's his decisions that produced this mess. A coach can only be blamed for failed game plans. Not lack of good players.

I don't think Cower is going to end up in Jacksonville. Probably see him be given the keys to the Rams or Chargers.

What if he doesn't like Dodge? What if he's a Ford guy? Doesn't Ford make Jaguars?

I also see Rob Ryan getting a shot as an HC sometime this offseason, perhaps with Colts themselves.

I doubt it. If they did, that really would be a mistake. I saw him on a week-to-week basis when he was in Cleveland, and he's not a very good leader. Nothing like Rex or their father Buddy. It wouldn't be a good choice.

eh for Indy I think the entire staff, top to bottom needs to be gutted not just the coaches. To bring in Collins was horrible call. To draft as poorly as they have, inexcusable. As for Rob Ryan, it just fits the pattern of bad moves the Colts have accomplished over the last couple of seasons. He's like Turner, a solid coordinator, lousy HC candidate.

The major issue in Indy is Manning. He holds too much power in the Indy camp. He insists on all reps with the offense, and I guarantee that Indy won't be able to draft a QB even though they will have the best QB prospect since...well, since Manning, right in the palm of their hands in Andrew Luck. Peyton is a good QB, but he is on the downside of 30; this is the second time in 3 years he has had an injury that hasn't healed properly. My question is: what's going on there? Is he not following his PT properly? That happens sometimes with star players- I've seen this first hand, especially those that are really full of themselves. I worry that the Colts are being guided by the wrong hand...
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...

If anything I could see Manning's days in Indy as being numbered. The owners have seen how thin their franchise is. It is a safe bet that regardless of what Peyton agrees to or disagrees to, Andrew Luck will be drafted first overall. If Indy were smart, they would trade that pick for several future first round considerations. All they'd have to do is make an offer to the Cleveland Browns, move back a few places, get two first rounders and a second, then get another QB at a deeper pick. Freeing Cleveland a chance to make a move to get an elite QB prospect, one with a higher ceiling than Colt McCoy.
