I just got back in the game late last year. I grew up with the G1 cartoon. Ive not liked any other version until Prime dropped. Im really only collecting the MP line. I do like come of the Combiners but have yet to buy any.

Aw man, you're missing out, you should try to at least get a team you like, or 5 figures you like, and make yourself a combiner. I would suggest the aerialbots, or cyclonus with offroad, swindle, dragstrip, and blast-off; as that gives you the best balance of the best molds from the line.
I've never gotten any of the mp's, but they look really nice for the most part, but I don't care enough for the G1 characters to warrant buying them.

Its more about space then any thing. Im also trying to keep my self on one line. If I dont I go crazy buying things. I have been thinking about Devastator though. He really looks close to G1 to me.

I've gotten many Transformers toys here and there over the years.
I've always loved the original animated Transformers movie and I was obsessed with Beast Wars as a kid and much more recently I enjoyed Transformers: Prime quite a bit and I enjoyed both War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron.
I have only recently started collecting again with Combiner Wars, I've gotten Leader Class Megatron, Ultra Magnus and Jetfire, Vogaer Class Optimus and a bunch of Legends figs as well as 4/6ths of Defensor (Just missing Blades and Streetwise).
I've also recently gotten Sharkticon Megatron from TF:Prime and the Collector's Club Rampage and Trans-Mutate figures.
My shelf is filling up fast.

That's because he is really G1 looking And I hear ya about the space, been decreasing the purchases I made in case a line came out where I had to get a large portion of figures, and here we are
But I think at least getting a combiner would do you well, but as devs scales well with mp's I guess that's a good choice

Yeah hes so G1. Im just not sure if I would do Hasbro or the Takara one. I really wanted the SDCC one. That was off the hook. Of course for the price people are charging it sure as hell better be.

Just tryin' my best to help get people onto the boards - though I wouldn't say no to being the 'official greeter' of the site

I'm just glad you don't use the stupid "greeting" that some people were trying to make "official" but was really just lame and stupid.
Don't ask about it, just don't ever do it. I will ban you.

My name is Rich, just joined the forum today whilst looking for some TF info and also trying to source a particular model.
As my formative years were in the 80's, I grew up with G1 toys and cartoons, though somehow I managed to miss the cartoon movie entirely until this year! Not sure how I managed that, but have now finally caught up!
Turning the big 4-0 next year, and I think I must be going through some kind of mid-life crisis already, because since finding out about the Takara Masterpiece line I've been collecting them obsessively (almost fanatically!), presumably trying to cling on to my childhood nostalgia!
All the best,
Rich

Hi Teknomage! Sorry, I missed your intro when I was saying Hi to penchant76. Like him, you are of an age with several around here, including myself. Have you ever thought about going back and getting som of your old G1 collection back? I have been heavy into the Classics/Universe line, but I have gotten most of the G1 figures I had as a kid, plus several my friends had. I'm just curious if you have the same sort of urges.
Welcome! This community is really awesome!
