Lookin good a little childish with the dialogue and dont really like the fact that Optimus isnt a true Autobot leader but overall seems good so far.

kup1986 wrote:The biggest flaw is the animation, particularly when it comes to the Humans and Earth in General. There is no doubt about it, the reason for this animation style is because its cheap. There is nothing artistic about it, just cheap. The human character designs are exceptionally bad and have a 'Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy' feel to them. Overall the episode was okay but fails to produce any sort of geek fan boy reaction.

That was my same reaction. There was nothing impressive with the animation. Don't get me wrong, I know they are trying to appeal to a new generation of fans but after the smash hit movie this is what we're presented with?

kup1986 wrote:The plot starts off reasonably well but moving too fast for you to get a sense of the Universe this series takes place in. However after they reach Earth things begin to get boring real quick with their first confrontation with this nanotech monster thing which frankly lasted way too long.

The point at the "Nanotech Monstes" is where I started drifting off into slumberland.

kup1986 wrote:Although the Humans were not initially annoying, its very difficult to 'accept' the poor character and animation style, If you can't stomach the Transformer designs you will definitely not stomach the Human's.

Sari failed to win my affection upon introduction. The annoying-over-protected-loner-kid of a super-genius-scientist... The kid that has everything handed to her on a silver platter but doesn't have friends. Now, she's got giant transforming robots as friends... Wow, lucky kid. Why not have Richie Rich as a guest sometime.

kup1986 wrote:This premiere was a bit Mediocre and don't expect much from it based on the limitations that they have already imposed on themselves and since 2 Seasons have already been produced, it is very doubtful that the tone of the series will change since they never allowed for them to study fan reaction to the initial few episodes before working on the next.

Overall, I am neither disappointed nor excited. It is very unlikely that I will be collecting any toys from this series.

Fan reactions... So far, from what I've heard the reactions are much like that of "X-Men 3". Most of the praise has been mostly about nods to G1, BW and a few of the other series, Starscream's voice and the size of Megatron (there's a bad joke in that last part). Very few talk about the storyline or the whole "superhero" direction the characters are being led on.

I'm totally all "GO" for a reboot of anything but this one seems just as rushed and flawed as what we've seen since the introduction of the latest Japanese shows.

I would've loved to see animated versions of the movie. If anyone recalls "The Real Ghostbusters" and the "Men In Black" animated series. In those series the movies were based off of them, even though they were created after the movies. That would've been a really good comedic episode down the line for Transformers Animated.

Again, I think most of us are so hungry for something "new" that we'll accept anything without really analyzing it.
Spectacular Spider-man is a better written, better animated show and has a better theme song... Hands down!

Aside from animation, the story is great, the characters have some interesting backgrounds. Prowl is a dick, Starscream is amazing, Megatron is just awesome.

O.k. if it was in a different contenuity then what was up with the g1 footage as historical tapes. But as I said it doesn't really matter it got a 5/5 from me and I can't wait for the rest of the season.

Most of it was very vague footage that could have fallen into any continuity. Still a nice touch for the older fans.

No, it wasn't vague. It contained G1 pre-Earth seekers in their "triangular" jet forms as well as Decepticon drones from "War Dawn".

This supports the parallel dimension to G1 theory that a few people already mentioned. Perhaps, the focal point of both the G1 universe and this universe is when Megatron first appears and Orion Pax is rebuilt as Optimus, but in the Animated universe Ultra Magnus drives Megatron and the Cons away from getting rid of the Allspark making it so that this Prime didn't face Megs like it happened in G1.

What bits I did get to catch, eh, weren't too bad... not overly impressed either.

But I do love this Starscream, whoot I am sooooo in love with this one.:x :x :x At first, I was like, what, Spongebob, nyooooooo!! But I could thank TK now, think he did great. :APPLAUSE:

I can see this like how I viewed Armada...just give me the Decepticons-based episodes...I can care less about the Autobots and, most of all, the da#$ed humans, blegh. :P

Yeah, you're right. I missed that the first time I watched it. However, I'm wondering if, perhaps, Optimus and Sentinel are related, like brothers. And, perhaps, "Prime" is their last name, not their rank? Just an idea. ;)^

I hate to be that guy but ... in the beginning they made tie-ins to G1 and referred to it as the great war, yet these new autobots have no idea about earth and humans? And if I have to sit through another alien coming of age and getting to know earths quirky customs -bleh-. Either reboot and start fresh (with no namesakes) or be consistent with what came before

IIRC technically only the person that purchased the media has legal rights to view it, however, in practical applications it would be too hard to enforce that fully, because they would have to bust up every family movie night & gathering nationwide, plus it would just be bad publicity as well. So usually it gets limited to being enforced at larger gatherings & distributions that can serve as a warning to others that might do the same, such as showing Disney sing-along videos in public schools(I bleieve that was a pretty major issue a few years ago....if not my choir director was just using it as an excuse to give us more music theory work....).

Just like the majority of people who have posted, I loved the writing/story. I liked the characters, both TF and human. I just really liked everything about TF Animated...Except the art. :| Like someone else said, this animation isn't even as good as Teen Titans and Ben 10. :? Its okay, but since I like Teen Titans and Ben 10, I was hoping that Animated would at least be as good as those shows.

Still, the writing makes up for the animation. :D

On another note, I've read every post, and there's been no mention of one thing: *Prowl's* battle mask. I mean, we all knew that Optimus was going to have a mouth plate / battle mask, but Prowl's mask was totally unexpected. Yeah, its kinda ugly, but I still thought it was a cool surprise.

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I actually liked the art style (though I have to admit that some of the kids were just plain ugly). I think it really lends itself to the type of fight scenes we'll be seeing, which, from what I've seen, look pretty damn nice

I didn't read all the posts on this thread. So, this may have been mentioned already, but did anyone else notice Spike, Carly, and Daniel when the plot went fifty years into the future? It's while Sari's dad is talking they are getting ice cream I think. Was that mentioned already and did anyone else notice them?

BTW, I'm loving the series. Animation does take a little getting used to but it does honor the G1 with the feel and sounds. I'm loving Tom Kenny as Screamer, too.

Something else that I just remembered to ask. Anybody else figure that the "Omega program" or whatever it was called is going to make it so that at some point in time the Autobot ship will be Omega Supreme?

Personally, I really liked TF: A. Namely because the dialog at some points was very witty [Prime's look at the 'Birds and the Bees' moment said volumes], and at least 50x better than the last three series that Hasbro seriously screwed up [Watch Galaxy Force-Its much more tolerable].

BBs voice does take some getting used to, and Prime sounds like he has an interesting backstory to why he is where he is. I think Prowl kicked all sorts of aft [Giant Alien Robot Ninja anyone?] while Ratchet was fun being old and cranky. SS going nuts was worth watching as well.

Overall this show gets a 10/5.
