Episode 24 –

I knew Megatron had become insane, but now he has officially lost his marbles.

Miko, not all unicorns are white and sparkly.

Wait, Fowler didn’t know about June paying visits to the Autobot’s base?

It’s the “I awaken...” line from the SDCC teaser trailer. Though, it doesn’t sound deep enough for me.

EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! THE PRIMUS AND UNICRON MYTH PLUS THE ORIGINAL THIRTEEN!!!!!!!!

Of the designs I’m familiar with, I cannot tell if any of them appear to be Prima, Vector Prime, or Alpha Trion. Or even Megatronus Prime, the Liege Maximo, Nexus Prime, or Solus Prime.

IT’S THE CORE FROM WAR FOR CYBERTRON!!!!!!!

Megatron seriously and genuinely just called Unicron his “lord and master”, and is practically begging to serve Unicron... Megatron has completely gone off the deep end. So much for the G1 Megs’ declaration of, “I belong to NOBODY!!!”

This is the blandest-sounding Unicron voice ever.

Looks like Unicron can produce miniscule bodies from dirt that he can remote control from within Earth.

Final thoughts: Not exactly the beginning of the big epic fight I expected it to be, but it was decent.

Next week, same trailer as before.

Shadowman wrote:It's more complicated than that. He's not Earth, and Earth isn't him. The line is pretty blurry, though. Optimus DID say that Unicron most likely no longer has or needs physical form, which actually explains everything. Remember, in the old version of their backstory, Primus and Unicron didn't have physical form when they ended up trapped in those asteroids, but over time, learned to control them. This actually explained how Unicron can make avatars out of bits of the Earth.

Tune in next week when I'm proven completely wrong about this.
Can we at least say that Earth's core is "essentially" Unicron?

Ah, the TF wiki has a pair of images of the Original 13. I can't tell which one is which. The one features most prominently in either image is shown wielding a sword, he could be either Prima or Vector Prime.

Even funnier, doing a quick headcount, there's only 11 in there, and none of them are on fire. Though the Fallen COULD be the Pharaoh-looking on with the glowing eyes.

Short version: There's the images, don't ask me who's who.

At BotCon 2010 and 2011, we saw images of both the pre-The Fallen Megatonus Prime and the present day The Fallen. so maybe one of these is Megatronus before he fell.

That's what I was thinking. The Pharaoh-like design fits in with his movie design, too, which he was not on fire. The one to the right of Glowy-Ball Prime in the first image has a lot of design elements of Alpha Trion, too.

That said, could they have made a few of them a bit more obvious? It should not be hard to pick the Fallen out of a crowd. And Prima doesn't appear in either of those images. (Though it's most likely the one feature most prominently in both IS Prima, it just doesn't look like that image there)

Then again, these were silhouettes that had their finer details and individual outlines obscured by slight blurriness. So, it's understandable how we'd have difficulty picking each one out.

That was a good start for three-parter. I loved Optimus' face when Miko talked about unicorns, it was so innocent and "WTF?". :D

Is one of the original Primes wearing some sort of a cape? It sure looks like it, or then it can be just the design.

They're bringing more and more stuff from Exodus and War for Cybertron. Loved how they kept the Core looking same. I believe it's only a matter of time when colony worlds are brought in, or have they already done that? My memory's not good...

Unicron doesn't seem to want any followers. Maybe bad memories from what happened with The Fallen?

I love how Unicron takes a lot of design elements from the unproduced BW Neo ptototype, kinda makes sense if you think about it, after all in BW Neo Unicron was resurrected by pumping angolimus (what ever that stuffs called) into Earth.

My only complaint is his Unicron's weapon designs, that sword/lance on his left arm and that spiky not really a mace on his right arm just look bad to me.

Miko's line about Unicorns was hilarious.

Airachnid seems to have moved up to become the new Second in Command since little old Starscream has gone AWOL.

I think those are just spikes, he's always had spikes on his arms.

Which is really funny since Starscream was so worried about being replaced by her, that he ended up defecting.

No I don't mean the spikes on the outside of his arms, take another look:
http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/5/5b/OneSh ... ouette.jpg

See those giant spiky weapons where his hands should be? I mean those, and his stone avatars have them too, sure the first one removes his and you can see that he does indeed have hands under them, but still they look bad to me.

Did anyone else find it unusual how submissive Optimus was towards Unicron? I mean, he's probably just trying to appease Unicron with the "lord" and "greatness," but it just feels kind of... off. Or maybe he seriously respects Unicron because he's related to Primus?

I've heard a lot of griping about Unicron's voice in particular, and I've got to say, after rewatching the episode on YouTube, it sounds a lot less jarring. I kind of like how he sounds like an old man. I've always thought he certainly looked the part.

And of course, this episode had to end on a cliffhanger. Well, at least we won't have to wait a month for it to get resolved this time. ;)

He was trying to talk Unicron down by appealing to his ego. When that failed, he used the age-old method of just shooting him.

Done. They are now hyperlinks.

Though, if that's also a problem, I can fix it later after I get back from work.

I had thought Optimus was saying those things because he was trying to get Unicron to listen and to compromise with him. Now that you've mentioned it with the respect issue, that could be true. Optimus always has great respect for his fellow Autobots, I can't imagine the respect he has for his fellow Primes.

Hm. I disagree. In fact, that photo you ref'd just reinforced my love for the design. It shows just how alien, primal, even demonic he seems by comparison to the much more refined Optimus. It's easy to see that his creation occurred long ago, in a less refine/evolved era of darkness and savagery. (Madhouse anime influences much appreciated).

Hey kids I watch the new episode are you ready to hear me tear it apart?.....To bad lets start. 1st minute in Why does Megatron try to use his sword to attack Bulkhead when he has a large long range weapon on his arm? FINALLY A human giving common sense this is why I like June just a shame no one else doesn't take her advice f%$king morons. I (and probably everyone else) call bullmess on the tornado scene. So Airachnid is the new second-in-command? Anyone wanna get in a debate how that works? So we see the 13 again god I wish Vector was here he was so much cooler then these guys but we can't get what we want can we? So Unicron has somehow become the earth.......Fine I'll run with that. I don't care about everyone elses thoughts about Optimus moral It was a stupid move to negotiate with the Transformer equivalent of SATAN! So yeah unless Galactus is the Autobots secret ally this is not going to go well for me.

Probably because his Fusion Cannon isn't as effective as his sword. Actually, the same goes for pretty much every gun in the Aligned Continuity.

DJ1107 wrote:FINALLY A human giving common sense this is why I like June just a shame no one else doesn't take her advice f%$king morons.

No, it was pretty damn stupid. You remember how, very, very early on, Jack ended up being chased down by the Vehicons just for being near to Arcee? I guess no one told her that "we don't work with them anymore" doesn't convince the 'cons.

DJ1107 wrote:So Airachnid is the new second-in-command? Anyone wanna get in a debate how that works?

Megatron said so.

DJ1107 wrote:I don't care about everyone elses thoughts about Optimus moral It was a stupid move to negotiate with the Transformer equivalent of SATAN!

It's really funny you should say this, because Satan is famous for his tendency to bargain with people. It's the bases of the phrase "A Deal with the Devil." Unicron also has a tendency to strike deals with people. ("I'll give you a sweet new body, a bunch of new minions, this cool ship that you probably won't even use, and all you have to do is kill Ultra Magnus and get the Matrix to me.")

Airachnid seems natural for the roll of Second-In-Command quite honestly. Starscream, as soon as he saw her in Partnerstalking with Megatron thought he was already on the way to the scrap heap with her taking his place. On top of being a deadly warrior, she's a plotter and planner, and thanks to thousands of years hunting and killing other beings for sport. Airachnid is quite the quick thinker on the spot, and can come up with a plan on the spur of the moment. Knock-Out, is probably considered too much of a dandy by the other Deceps. Breakdown, much like Bulkhead unfairly believes himself, is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Soundwave, no personality to motivate the troops.

Optimus' attempt to talk to Unicron I'd consider more naive than stupid. Probably by playing to the Chaos Bringer's ego by being submissive Prime thought he could convince him to spare the people of Earth.

Yeah It's true the Autobots have defeated Unicron before one was a explosive death the other turned him into a black hole. So riddle me this how are they going to take down Unicron without completely screwing over Earth?

I don't know, I haven't seen the last two episodes yet. I do know that none of his deaths were ever a threat to Cybertron before, though.

Why does Unicron need to talk at all?

Personally, I think it would've been far more menacing of him to only utter one or two phrases, rather than bother his godly self with actually talking to the lowly Megatron.

A simple "No." and a flick of his ethereal wrist to knock Megs off the volcano would be enough to show how little he cares of any other life form. At the moment he's just coming across as a big spiky jerk instead of a god.

Long, intimidating silences. Like the A/E/C Unicron but with brains.

Anyone else think so?
