Tell that to the Beast Era.

Tell that to Dinobot. Afterall, the tragically poetic and most memorable Beast Wars episode, happened because Dinobot protected a small village full of HUMANS. If it werent for the human element, even there, we may never have seen that side of him.
In which case the humans were a "plot device" instead of "characters" like every other series set on present day/near future Earth has them be. They could have swapped the protohumans out for some other significantly important plot device in that episode and it would have still been almost the exact same story.

Beast Wars worked because the Maximals were a much more ragtag crew of characters than in G1 or most seasons since, and thus their interactions with each other WERE insightful and led to character growth and development. They didn't fully trust each other or Optimus at the outset, and they had to work for their relationships. Humans in other shows strike me as a no-brainer. SOMEONE has to get in on the secret, inevitably. And the humans make for fun characters too. At least in the shows, they're supporting characters instead of main characters like the Bay movies.

I also find it funny how you're so vehemently opposed to this idea of everybody having human partners (which they don't, only three of the seven Autobots we've met in the show have partners) when you swear up and down about how much you love Rescue Bots, which takes the human partnership element up to eleven. Yes, human partners are not, strictly-speaking, necessary. But the way Prime is set up, people just expect new characters to get a partner. This is not a bad thing, and it doesn't have to carry forward into future Transformers shows. I like the human dynamic of Prime. I don't require that to be present in all TF media going forward. I also wouldn't be fussed if Wheeljack didn't get a human partner. He doesn't seem like the type for that anyway. Sorry if all the talk about potential partners bugs you, but different people like different parts of the show.

Ugh, this new episode couldn't be more suspenseful. I want to see Bulkhead's death fate already! And I also want to see Wheeljack do stuff.

Speaking of those Wreckers, there's something I thought I'd add:

I've always considered the Prime wreckers to be Bulkhead, Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, and Hot Shot. The only reason I include Hot Shot is because:

1. He has a toy, which really doesn't matter, but it does to me
2. Hot Shot & Rodimus are supposed to be the same people in the Aligned Continuity, because of the loss of rights to the name "Hot Rod," and because they wanted to let us see how Hot Shot became Rodimus. Where did they show us that? In the pseudocanon story "Bumblebee at Tyger Pax," Rodimus is a Wrecker.

Well, I was talking about ones we've actually seen, either it be animation model or toy wise, but if you really want the rest:

* Roadbuster
* Pyro
* Impactor
* Rotorstorm

We've also gotten other Aligned-Continuity Wreckers, but they aren't in Prime so far in any way:

*Topspin
*Twin Twist
*Whirl
*Springer

I know, and you're right, Seaspray is was a Prime Wrecker. But I wasn't too specific when I was listing the ones we've physically seen in either the toyline or cartoon.

He was somewhat in Loose Cannons. Uh, his ship was. Until..... :BOOM:

indeed.....and for all we know he might not have been in the ship. wouldn't put it past dreadwing to have set it up as a trap to draw in another ship and blow the decoy like a mine.

You know.....that's an interesting idea. We don't know for certain that Seaspray was actually offed. We just kinda took Wheeljack's word for it, but he could've been hoodwinked. It's not a totally implausible way to say "This character didn't REALLY die" like we've had in some other shows, so it wouldn't break the rule of "when characters are dead, they stay dead" that we've been told holds for this show. The only problem I can think of is Dreadwing's honor. That kind of deception might be beneath him. On the other hand, he strapped a bomb to Bulkhead and made Wheeljack and Optimus fight for his life, so who knows.

Man, this thread has been neglected lately. :(

Well, it would seem as though every character in Prime that has a G1 counterpart has been explained as of their origins in the Aligned Continuity + Bulkhead. I mean, Optimus, Wheeljack, Arcee, Bulkhead, Ratchet, Megatron, Starscream, Breakdown, Cliffjumper, Soundwave, Dreadwing, Skyquake, I guess Airachnid, and Bumblebee all had a past that we've either seen or heard about. But what about Knock Out?

All we know is that:

Knock Out came to Earth at some point in time..........some point in time.

I just want to learn more about this character. They don't seem to give him a lot of back-story, and we're just supposed to accept the fact that he's here somehow. I know Breakdown came to Earth at some point in time as well, but at least we know where he came from with the WFC game and the Prime comic.

Well, I wouldn't exactly count Arcee among those whose pasts we know that well, since, while she was a playable character in WFC, she wasn't really part of the story (aside from a few background cameos that you would see without knowing to look for them in one level). Aside from the Tailgate incident, her past isn't all that clear yet. ;)

Saber what is this about Starscream after something called Red Energon is this a new form of Energon is so has it been said what Red Energon is capable of I assume it increases you powers which is probably why Scream is after it.

Each Energon has diffrent colors and effects
Green = Tox-EN Which is poision, Energon = Blue which heals acts like medicine, Dark Energon = Purple which is the Life Blood of Unicron which runs through Megatron and brought the Nemesis to life. Red = Uknown my guess Powers Up makes you stronger.

Also it says Arcee is teaming up with a Friend will this be a new character or is it someone we know from the past.

Also it says another new character will be a permanet member of Team Prime does that mean that Bulkhead got the axe and didnt survive his deal with Hardshell and Tox-En.

Sorry been out of the loop on Prime been with Falling Skies really good Season 2 ender but it left in a Cliffhanger and will not return until 2013. Thankfully new episodes of Prime will return this week.

I wonder if they will show the remainder of Prime 2 episodes which I think 9 or so remain making it 26 episodes again uknown how many Season 3 will have.

Saber I got my FOC on my Playstation 3 really good game a little darker than WFC but usually rather it being a movie or a game each part 2 is darker. Part 1 introduction, Part 2 Darker, Part 3 Conclusion and Set up for 2nd Trilogy or beginning to the original.

I have WFC on my 360 and now FOC on PS3 got me a few Trophies already and I am playing Decepticon campaign got mine from Gamestop with G1 goodies.

I dont know if these new episodes are the real deal or not usually what I find turns out to be fake but sometimes you get lucky and you find the real deal.

Well back to FOC and finishing out Decepticons.

Please use punctuation. And we don't know anything more about Red Energon except that it apparently exists. Here's the only mention of it: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... uit/25621/

Also it says Arcee is teaming up with a Friend will this be a new character or is it someone we know from the past.

Those are the burning questions on everybody's mind.

Season 2 has 11 episodes remaining for a total of 26, which will air in one continuous run, as far as we know. Season 3 will almost certainly also have 26 episodes.

I dont know if these new episodes are the real deal or not usually what I find turns out to be fake but sometimes you get lucky and you find the real deal.

They're real. The publicity blurbs are official.

Oy, Rodimus2006. It would help to read the news posts when they make it to the front page.

Here are all the upcoming episode descriptions we know of thus far:

Episode 42 -
"Hurt"
(First Aired: August 24, 2012)
Still reeling from the near-fatal experience Bulkhead faced at the hands of Hardshell during the last relic hunt, Wheeljack and Miko decide to take matters into their own hands and leave to hunt down Hardshell to exact revenge for their friend.

Episode 43 -
"Out of the Past"
(First Aired: August 31, 2012)
When Arcee is unexpectedly brought back into the company of an old friend, they discover together that Deception[sic] has been scheming behind their backs an elaborate plan with the intentions of destroying the Autobots and claiming victory.

Episode 44 -
"New Recruit"
(First Aired: September 7, 2012)
Starscream goes on a quest for Red Energon; a new Autobot joins Team prime.

Episode 45 -
"The Human Factor"
(First Aired: September 14, 2012)
Silas is given a new lease on life and approaches Megatron with a plan to join the Decepticon ranks.

And aside from what all is written here, we know nothing else of the events of these episodes or their contents.

Nice Silas in Breakdown's body making his 1st appearance, I wonder if Silas can transform into Breakdown's Alt. Mode I assume he should be able to considering the kinda of Tech that is behind MECH.

Saber does this mean that if Silas/Breakdown joins with Megatron does that mean MECH would also be apart of the Decepticons.

I have some ideas on who could be Arcee's Friend from the Past maybe Elita-1 done in a new unique way, Chromia, Moonbeam, Flare-Up or a new character made for Prime specificaly such as Dreadwing or SkyQuake.

Saber wouldnt that be something if Shockwave was Arcee's friend. I am curious to if she will ignore Jack & put him on the backburner when her new Friend Arrives and how this will affect thier friendship.

Saber FOC is a good game I will post up my review later it has many diffrent new things such as Teletran 1 letting you upgrade weapons and also buy weapons also WheelJack is in this game but I will not spoil anymore.

Seems they seem to be showing all remainder episodes of S2 meaning it will probably end at the end of October give or take.

Now back to FOC kill some time until the new episodes begin this week then next week on HUB is Animated S3 will also watch that once again.

Awesome stuff.

We don't know. We don't have all the knowledge in the world about these episodes. MECH could probably go on with a new leader.

Who's Moonbeam? Do you mean Moonracer?

Good ideas nonetheless. Interesting to have new female Autobots, as long as they don't carry such a revenge plotline like Arcee

Shockwave. Shockwave. Why in the world would her partner be Shockwave? Shockwave is a loyal servant of Megatron's (regardless of his leader's trust for him), not a double ag-.....wait a minute. Double Agent Shockwave? Animated reference? Hehe.

Longarm is Arcee's friend, gets Arcee trapped for the Decepticons and reveals that he is truly Shockwave. HEHEHEHHEHEHEH! :KREMZEEK: :KREMZEEK:

You can if you want to. Just use the spoiler commands to black it out, like this:

Bumblebee does stuff. LOLOLOLOL.

Besides, we already knew Wheeljack was in the game, and the ability to buy & upgrade weapons from Teletraan-1, so those are no spoilers.

If you remember the ROTF Bayformer toylines the Arcee Twins which were 3 seperate bots Moonracer, Flare-Up, and lastly Chromia.

Chromia & Moonracer where in G1 also as a band of Fighters against Shockwave with Elita-1 as thier leader.

They were together with Ironhide and Inferno also Powerglide.

I am trying to say it could be done similar towards Animated where Shockwave could be a double agent remember Shocwave is brilliant and coniving and utterly ruthless.

But my theory we wont see Shockwave until S3 when the Dinobots are brought in considering thier connection in FOC.

Slipstream & Thunderblast maybe Strikka would make for awesome new Fem Decepticons to replace Airachnid.

Never mind I am just going to set back play my FOC and watch these new episodes the awesome season 2 finale will be upon us soon.

Right now I am on Decepticon Campaign such as I did on WFC always Decipticons 1st cause of story wise proggression Autobots are 2nd cause they end the story.

No, they were Arcee, Chromia, and Elita-1. Moonracer and Flare-Up were working names for Elita-1.

Yes, I know. Arcee was also in G1, not to mention the long-forgotten Firestar. You called Moonracer "Moonbeam," which is why I questioned you.

Rodimus2006 wrote:But my theory we wont see Shockwave until S3 when the Dinobots are brought in considering thier connection in FOC.

They're being brought in (which it still hasn't been officially confirmed by Kline & Hasbro that the Dinobots are appearing in Season 3, or at all) because of the Rage of the Dinobots comic that bridges Seasons 2 & 3.

I know my Transformers Moonbeam was a typo on my end, Hey I am human I make mistakes and I am not perfect. I keep up with multiple things other than Transformers so my knowledge at time isnt 100% accurate but I do know my Transformers. Remember I have been with TF since 1984.

Who knows about the Dinobots but you can bet they will either in Flashbacks, Cameo or a 1shot appearance they will be in Prime in some point.

Klein & Hasbro can deny all they want but given the fact of FOC and the Comic you can bet they will be in Prime.

I would also love to see a new FemDecipticon replace Airachnid I would use Slipstream but not make her a Starscream clone such as Animated but new & unique but use her Animated VA also.

Um, they never denied that the Dinobots would be in Prime. They already said way back that the Dinobots are "on the radar". We can probably expect them to come no sooner than season 3 what with the "Rage of the Dinobots" comic leading into season 3.

I replaced the i in my name with y so when we talk about Prime, I'm not completely confused. ;)

Episode 42 (S2, E16) - Oh Boy.

Transformers: Prime returns! Epic win!

"NANANANANAN! WE STOLE THE PHASE SHIFTER, AND SCRATCHED UP KNOCK OUT"

Please shut up, Miko.

Bulkhead, respond! Nah, please don't. I'd rather have Wheeljack living than you, and the drama of a main character other than Optimus on the Autobots dying.

System failure, huh? ......................................... :D

The mini-bicker between Hardshell & Knock Out made me chuckle. ;)

Of course Soundwave's the only one successful. Soundwave's the boss, bitch.

Whoa, Agent Fowler. You, actually care. You really care about one of the Autobots.

Miko stowed away? What a big fat surprise!

Wheeljack sounds a little different to me. I know he didn't switch VAs, but just sounds different. Like his voice was brought down a pitch or two. Probably just me.

Haha, Hardshell likes exaggerating.

Yeah, I'm sure buffing was easier with Breakdown. I miss him too. :-(

"The Autobot still lives?" -- He better not.

"If it's not Bulkhead's it better be Wheeljack's" -- It better not.

"He'll live, he'll never be fully functional again" -- Yeah yeah yeah, whatever, I have nothing to say about that. I cant wait for the next episode!!!!

Pretty sure the "No Pictures" rule is out of the question. These pics were on live TV.

CLIFFJUMEPER'S BACK!

WAAAAAAAAA PRIME IS BACK
So, we start with Miko, Jack, Arcee, and Bumblebee returning from New York City. That feels like forever ago. Their naive innocence is ominous foreshadowing.

Bulkhead is in critical condition. No surprise. Looks like he'll pull through, but he'll be out of commission for a while, and may never be fully functional again. I like this, it sets everybody up for some fantastic character growth. Miko may never be the same (I don't hear may complaints), and it'll leave a deep impact on everybody else. Wheeljack prefers to brood on his own, it seems. Nice job with the temporary partnership between him and Miko. They complement each other nicely.

Wheeljack talks big, Megatron takes the bait, and sends Hardshell in. That fight was INTENSE. I love the choreography in this show. Hardshell almost won, but then Miko went and fired the missiles.....somehow. And they miraculously avoided Wheeljack himself. Must be Decepticon-seeking. So, Hardshell is blown to bits and effectively gone, as is David Kaye's all too brief stint in this show, unless they get him to play Ironhide or Ultra Magnus or somebody. And then despite Wheeljack destroying a huge Insecticon swarm, there's still plenty left on the Nemesis. I guess that's the value of clone armies. Wheeljack and Miko return to base, brood, receive the bad news, and brood some more. Wheeljack speeds off, despite apparently being heavily injured in bot mode. Whatevs.

Transformers Prime is BACK with a punch. I look forward to seeing what impact this has on the cast going forward. Also, next week, SHOCKWAVE! Since Cliffjumper is present, it must be a flashback. Wonder if we'll see Shocky in the present eventually.

Nice episode tonight with Wheel Jack and Miko they made a somewhat good team but it would have been better if Miko wasnt so moody but understandable cause of Bulk.

So bascially Bulk istn off-line but basically in some sort of coma cause of his damaged systems.

Miko Killing Hardshell nice touch this means Megatron will keep a close watch on the humans unknown what he will do next.

Ok this is the biggest mind-bender. Saber or anyone else didnt the creators of Prime plainly say that once a character is dead they are permanetly dead and will not return.

Yet CliffJumper is back in full form supposedly fighting alongside Arcee. WTF is this Cliff was dead as dead can get not only dead but messed up and turned into a Terracon Husk that looked like Husks from Mass Effect.

When I saw Cliff I thought maybe this is an Arcee flashback then I see the new episodes titled New Recruit could Cliff be brought back this needs explained before my head explodes.

I love Cliff but I need explainations is this the real deal Cliff or could it be something like the Decepticon Makeshift which can take shapes and become Cliff Jumper.

Cool We saw Shockwave maybe Shockwave brought Cliff back somehow the question would then be could Cliff be trusted fully.

We need answers and we need them soon.
