awesome episode. loved and hated the sound wheeljack made as he hobbled in at the end.

He's been off the juice for 15/16 of Season 2. The only time he's been filled with Dark Energon this season is in Flying Mind.

But there's something that's getting to me. How did they get the nemesis to earth exactly? It looked like only Starscream made it through the Space Bridge. I must have missed something. Is there a part two to this thing? Because I never saw Soundwave or Megatron.
Because Soundwave & Megatron aren't in it. It's just Starscream & Breakdown, with Vehicons.

If you already knew that, then you (and we) would've noticed his eyes were red again long ago. Flying Mind was 5 episodes ago.
Megs was probably still off on his three-year space travel, while Soundwave might have been aboard the Nemesis. As for the Nemesis, it was probably already flying in the skies of Earth, just away from where the comic took place. Notice the comic made Starscream feel familiar with Earth, as though he had been there before? Perhaps he was back on Cybertron for a mission and was going to return to Earth at some point anyway.BeastProwl wrote:PrymeStriker wrote:BeastProwl wrote:I just read the prequel comic. What I mean is, were exactly are they?
And the nemesis?

Right, the 'cons came to Earth, but Megatron left on his three-year voyage of the galaxy
Starscream went back to Cybertron to build & supervise the construction of a space bridge when Megatron gave him orders to reconstruct the space bridge system. This is the reason why they were building a space bridge on Earth for most of Season 1
Dunno. The way Optimus described that battle sounded as though it happened ages ago, long before the 3-year period of no Megatron.njb902 wrote:do you think it's possible for starscream to have been at the battle that megs latter used the dark energon on it's dead?

YRQRM0 wrote:So from what I gather, the next episode will most likely be a flashback of everyone on Earth, before the first episode. Shockwave is visiting for some reason...maybe this will show him planting the insecticons? From what I gather from Foc, he created them right? And I'm guessing this flashback will be triggered from his appearance in present day? This could be pretty awesome.

hmmmm my bet is shockwave doesn't show up in person yet. my money is on arcee sitting with the unconscious bulkhead and she is just talking to him in the event it helps his condition. so as she rambles on she starts thinking of other fallen comrades which leads her to cliffjumper, and since the insecticons(shockwave's creations) hurt bulkhead the convergence is a flashback about shockwave.

That sounds reasonable too. Also, from what I can tell, it doesn't look like the inside of the nemesis in the promo. I'm guessing it's a flashback from Cybertron.

It looks like Cybertron to me. The clip we saw at BotCon definitely showed them to be inside some sort of Cybertronian-designed base or bunker. No organic details like dirt or rock, all metal.PrymeStriker wrote:It looks to me as if they are on Earth. The 'cons could just be at an outpost or Energon mine they once had. Remember, we haven't seen the whole episode. What we're seeing could be shots where they're not on the Nemesis, but the Nemesis is there nonetheless.

Just saw the episode Hurt. Disappointed that Bulkhead didn't die...
... meanwhile they're killing off Decepticon characters left and right.

As reasonable as this does sound, I have my doubts this will explain how the Insecticons came to Earth. Both Starscream and Ratchet seemed surprised to learn there was *one* on Earth, and Starscream seems to be interacting with Shockwave in the episode.
Then again, it's not like certain 'cons haven't operated behind Starscream's back before. And Shockwave has occasionally operated his own agenda, though admittedly, he's only done so in the comics. In the cartoons, he's usually highly devoted to Megatron - though there's a first time for everything.Just saw the episode Hurt. Disappointed that Bulkhead didn't die...
I've seen a bit of this, with some sources considering it a cop-out on the part of the writers. But I think the writers are reminding viewers that soldiers don't just survive or die - some of them are injured. And though those injuries aren't always fatal, they can be debilitating to the point where they can't and don't return to the field. This seems to be Bulk's fate - if he wakes up.... meanwhile they're killing off Decepticon characters left and right.
Though there is a point in this. Though it does neglect the (mentioned) deaths of Tailgate and Seaspray.

I agree with ya on the injury to bulkhead. not only will it be a trial for him but also for those around him. some of the worst pain is survivors guilt. it's also hard to see your buddies like that at first.

YRQRM0 wrote:As for the Insecticons, from the level one level I've seen Shockwave in so far, he seems to be characterized as a kind of mad scientist, doing all kinds of experiments that the other cons don't approve of. Maybe Starscream will banish him from Earth or something, and he leaves the insecticons as a goodbye present to all of them.
YRQRM0 wrote:I still don't know how Airachnid communicates with them so well though.
YRQRM0 wrote:Also, the title "Out Of The Past" kinda suggests that a lot of this will have flashbacks, but that it will be triggered by something in the present, like Shockwave appearing. OR, maybe Arcee gets emotional about Bulkhead, and it reminds her about Tailgate, and we finally get to see everything that went on before he died.
And I agree with whoever it was who thought up that idea first. Don't remember who it was, but he/she pretty much guessed it would have Arcee telling Miko about one of her adventures with Cliffjumper.Archanubis wrote:I agree with Sabreblade; Arcee will probably be trying to comfort Miko with a story about her and Cliffjumper.
