Episode 57 -

Whoa, mama! M.A.S.K. got a reference! In this show, they're a division of the U.S. military who built an experimental vehicle that Optimus is scanning for his new altmode.

HOLY COW NEW OPENING SEQUENCE MADE OF AAAAAAAAAAWSOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!

Hey cool, a new GroundBridge. And other tech that looks either salvaged from the old base or given by the government.

And looks like Magnus got Prime's old altmode after all.

The Lobbing ball!

Looks like the hangar the Bots are based in is connected to an office Fowler works in.

Oh ho! So Magnus was the Wreckers commander back on Cybertron, but only to keep them in check and apparently didn't like the job.

Have I mentioned how much I love seeing an airborne Optimus?

And his new altmode is made of pure unrivaled awesome.

DUUUUUUUUUUDE, radical new duds, Smokey!

Oh, character point: Smoke secretly regrets not taking the Prime title because he's still treated like a rookie.

Miko mentions Dinobots! Bulkhead's answer to what they were: "Totally different."

Bulkhead's comment about having "beast wars" on their hands refers to the likelihood of Shockwave cloning a Pred army. And Optimus encourages his team to become "Beast Hunters" in response to that reality.

I don't like the explanation of Shockwave having cloned other Preds previously during the war, which Megatron ordered to be sent to Earth back then, since Earth seemed to be relatively unknown to Cybertron at the time that the war was going on, only coming to the awareness of a select few Cybertronians only after the war was over as the Great Exodus was underway.

Though Starscream mocks the idea of another scavenger hunt in this show (as I'm sure many a fan are doing as well), Shockwave promptly speaks up noting that the Preds he sent to Earth back then were microchipped.

Jack notes that the Predacons look like the creatures of Greek and Medieval mythology, to which Optimus suggests that the Preds helped influence the various folklores of humanity.

Synthetic energon is back. Ratchet's working on it again.

Magnus doesn't understand Fowler's sense of humor. He's also leading the Wreckers on this expedition.

And he's taking the Forge to wield in battle.

A little heart to heart between Bee and Smoke. We learn that Bee's dream is to be a Warrior, and that he personally has chosen to postpone any rank advancement from Scout until after they get to go back to Cybertron for good, as it would have more meaning to graduate on their homeworld. He's a patient bot, and Smoke finds that admirable.

Even though Shockwave's toy tank mode is pretty weak, the show still makes it into a beast.

Hi Soundwave! Come to help Shockwave, I see.

Optimus has had enough... but Laserbeak has other plans!

Phase Shifter!

The bone broke in at least three pieces. One for Bee, one for Smoke, and one for...

Megatron. Boo yah!

Megatron finds Shockwave too valuable to go back into the field, and Shockwave chooses to confine himself to his lab to complete Project Predacon while leaving the fetching the bones to Starscream.

This was a cleverly fun episode. So many cool bits and pieces despite most of it being exposition and all action happening mostly nearer to the end. And looks like this will be another case like episodes 38-41 in season 2, with the battles of this episode and the next taking place simultaneously with each other. And we got an explanation for why Magnus dislikes the Wreckers despite other sources having said that he was their leader on Cybertron. Kudos.

Next week, Predaking's back. And he's fighting the Wreckers.

Ya I was surprised by that as well, it looks much better then the original imo.

Clearly, he doesn't seem to be Wheeljack's best friend either.

Sabrblade wrote:Have I mentioned how much I love seeing an airborne Optimus?

Me too, but let's be real what's not to love about a airborne Optimus?

Sabrblade wrote:Oh, character point: Smoke secretly regrets not taking the Prime title because he's still treated like a rookie.

I wonder how long until the whole team know about Smokescreen's destiny.

I'm gonna guess that we see very little of Shockwave from now on.

With any luck.

The fact that Magnus took the Forge for the smacking of things has me hooked in for the next episode.

I wonder what Megatron's face would be like if he got the forge, back and his prime arm and when he tried to use it to make new weapons it wont do anything lol.

It is nice to know that Cons are still in the game. Maybe even too much, it is kinda strange that Optimus was revived and upregaded only to failed at the beggining of new saga.

However, episode is very nice, despite fight Somekscreen and BBB vs Vechicons was a great dissapointment. But new version of main theme is really weak.

I wonder did we see some new forms(or repaints) on the "dark side"

Hey, I was wondering when does the HUB re-air the newest episode of Transformers Prime?
Due to work I missed this and will miss the next episode.
Will the Hub put it up on their website?
Thanks

This morning, Vortexx finally aired episode 19, which they originally skipped before, as a "bonus episode". It had eight edits.

1. Megatron's line of "I have been wise to your transgressions from the beginning. Not only did you pluck the Dark Energon from my chest, in a failed attempt to snuff my spark, but you tried to raise your own undead warrior with it," had the underlined part not merely removed, but replaced entirely by a shot of Starscream squirming nervously from an earlier point, which was when he was squirming right after Megatron yelled "DO NOT TAKE ME FOR A FOOL, STARSCREAM!" but before he backed up as Megatron spoke the above line. However, the audio of Starscream's squirming was muted, with the audio of Megatron taking his steps and the BGM that played during his missing line were kept intact over the newly inserted shot of Starscream. So, no time was lost, only some video and the audio of spoken dialogue.

2. Starscream's line of "Farewell, Lord Megatron! May you rust in peace!" had its "May you rust in peace!" part cut out, but that's not all. When he said "Megatron!", an earlier shot of him looking at the hole from which he just crawled out was inserted over the audio of him saying "Megatron!", which then cut to Starscream turning around to walk away, which itself originally played just as he was finishing saying the word "peace!"

3. The new commercial break played after Megatron said, "I suppose helping those less fortunate would be completely out of the question," to Jack, who had just found him and then took a few steps back after Megs said that to him.

4. When the new commercial break came back to the show, a nighttime bird's-eye shot of the outside of the mine from later in the episode was inserted right before Megatron said "You might as well use your drill to finish me..." as a means to help transition back into the show after the break.

5. Originally, after Bulkhead said, "My arms... they're starting to give," to a shocked Miko, a commercial break occurred. Here, however, after the shot of Miko's shocked face reacting to Bulkhead's line, the scene immediately to the very next shot of Bulkhead we see after the original commercial break cut returned to the show. Also, the transitional exterior shot of the mine that was inserted after the previous newly-created commercial break was originally used as the transitional return to the show from this original commercial break cut. Naturally, since the original break was removed from here, so was the exterior shot of the mine (it still plays in the episode, just at a different point than its original placement).

6. And because they took out one existing commercial break, they had to create ANOTHER new one! This new one played about a second or two after Starscream said "And then, there were two," to Bulkhead.

7. After Arcee said "Don't move, Starscream," the quick shot of her inching her blaster closer into Starscream's face before she said "Hey, Bulk," was removed and replaced by a close up shot of Starscream saying "Uh?" from earlier that originally played right after Bulkhead said, "If you think I'm gonna beg for mercy, Starscream, forget it," and was originally part of Starscream's larger response of "Uh? Yes. Begging for mercy would be quite pathetic, wouldn't it?" So, like the first edit above, no time was lost, only the shot of Arcee pointing her gun in Screamer's face.

8. After Arcee told Starscream to "Raise [his] hands," the shot of Arcee's gun still in his face while he breathes heavily and then sadly moans "Ooooh!" was removed and replaced by another of the same close up of Starscream's "Uh?" face from before, only this time with its video sped up and rewound as it appeared, while still playing the audio of his "Ooooh!" moan. Also, originally, after Starscream moaned with Arcee's gun in his face, the scene faded to the next with Bulkhead driving outside of the mine and swerving to a stop. Since the original shot of Arcee's gun in Screamer's face was removed but the moan was kept, the new fade to the next scene had the first few frames of Bulkhead driving outside the mine were cut since those frames originally contained the final traces of the original post-moan scene transition fade. Thus, the new post-moan scene transition fade switched to the next scene a few frames later than it originally did.

And, next week, is another skipped episode being aired as a "bonus episode": Episode 21.

So pretty much they skipped some episodes that have relation to the plot later instead of episodes that didnt effect the plot at all like Scrapheap and Speed Metal.

Well, to be fair, "Scrapheap" did set up the GroundBridge being damaged in "Con Job", which was a key part of that episode's plot.

Which then lead to Arcee being worried about Smokescreen being a plant, I will give you that.

Come to think about it "Speed Metal" was the only Episode that didn't have something in the episode that didnt come up in a later episode.

Vince? Sierra being more friendly towards Jack?

Granted, they're minor, but still something.

We do not speak of the horrible humans' secondary characters. The supporting cast of the supporting cast of the supporting cast are hardly relevant.

Well, to be honest, I would like to see wether the writers hook Jack up with Sierra or will they just make him and Miko a pair, considering some certain moments.
Of course the former would mean bringing Sierra back which under current situation (Jasper evacuated and declared a hazzard-zone) seems unlikely.
But one question, though: am I the only one who wants the show to reveal Sierra's friend's name?

I'd LOL if Sierra and her friend were to be introduced to the Autobots in either of the following ways:

Sierra: "I'm Sierra, and this is my frien--" (*cut off by an interruption*)

or

Sierra: "I'm Sierra."
Friend: "And I'm Sierra's frien--" (*cut off by an interruption*)

or replace "Sierra's" with "her" in the second situation.

It'd be like a running gag having her name deliberately never spoken/revealed on screen. :P

And then after the show is over, something like a "Transformers: Prime - The Iacon Almanac" book would finally give her a name retroactively. :-B

Or, replace the word "Almanac" with "Database", since the latter term actually exists in the show itself. ;)
