Still, that Grimlock man... that's not Grimlock. If they wanted to put Bulkhead in this they should have just put Bulkhead in this, not turned Grimlock into.... THAT!

All in all, it's kinda like Animated made in Energon-like style. But they decide to fuse the worst elements of both styles.
But i still give this series a chance, may be it won't be so bad.

What is love? Baby don't hurt me, Don't hurt me, no more.

Nothing about him adds up to how he's been portrayed.
That adult kinda looks like Raf, just old, plus he reacts similar to him.

Everything seems to give us expression that "Limited (if any) role of Both Optimus Prime and Megatron." And there is a few characters without direct equivalent in previous series. I'm only affraid that new series will be childish and bad looking.
The above could equally apply to Rescue Bots.
If anything, it seems Hasbro is trying to strike a balance between Prime & Rescue Bots.

First...I'm wondering if this is intentional but Bee's bot body looks like Prime's...kind of dig that. The arms, torso, and shoulders especially.
I...I want to like this...but getting a weird Mighty Morphin Power Ranger vibe from the animation, voices, and what looks to be a possible revolving door of hunted Decepticons. The Decepticon designs can go crazy and the lobster bot in one clip was actually kind of interesting in a weird way. I will give the series a shot since it will be on Cartoon Network...the humans are garbage as usual.

Optimus prime == Jedi Master that will eventually be revived but i can see the responses saying otherwise
Bumble Bee = team leader
Strong-arm = an interesting gal
Grim-lock = it looks like Cyborg gotten a upgrade
Side-swipe = G1 look alike but welds a sword and a funky hairdo
Fix it = is ten times more dorky than Energon Ironhide
Decepticon Lobster guy with a Pontiac GTO as his alternate mode ( i assume ) == see Fix It's description + stereotype on the average Video Game player
over all no complaints from me on this series

You must have a big heart, and I mean that in the most sincerest of ways. However, I think some people need to stop with the racist" witch hunt". Perhaps, people ought to utilize context clues to understand what I meant by "ghetto" subculture. That has absolutely nothing to do with RACE, itself. I hear plenty of white and Hispanic people sound like ghetto trash- and it's not like they were taught to talk like that at school. I can use other words to describe what I was talking about: " Hollywood Hip-hop sub culture" , " trend slang", " anti-intellectual movement" . So perhaps, one shouldn't be so quick to accuse someone of being a "racist". In fact, as a minority, I've experienced true racism in different parts of the Country and oversees. So I apologize if when my statement hits some people in bleeding heart, I know they mean right ; but the fact of the matter is, they turned a character into a rip-off caricature . It's like turning Super Mario into a California surfer dude with blonde hair. It's just stupid and a cheap way to get more $$$ . It's just like what Michael Bay did with Skidz and Mudflap in ROTF - stupid stereotypes utilizing the colloquialism a popular subculture. Characters are who they are. I think changing the character is an insult to the original fans who kept the franchise alive for 20+ years, new fans who watched the old show, the writers of both the show and comics, Gregg Berger ( who voiced Grimlock ), and my basset hound that I named Grimlock! Why not just call him Grimhop, or Grimload, or Ghettolock - seriously. IF it's not the character- give it a different name!
That was some expert use of Google and Wikipedia there, Metalogan. Made you sound real smart. I'm relieved to know that you're only prejudiced against us ghetto trash, and not just blacks. Whew!
But you didn't mention Asians in your ghetto checklist. Does that mean that Asians can't be ghetto, or that you've just never been to Central New Jersey in all your world travel? Please, tell me. I'm dying to know. Knowledge is power. And you are one powerful dude.

Except, given Grimlock's known character history, it's hard to narrow down where in the timeline this example would occur since we know what Grimlock's been doing during FOC, after FOC, during Prime, and immediately after Prime. The last time we see him is shortly after Predacons Rising, during which time he is seen helping to build the Cybertronian settlement of New Spark, and by which point he had become quite civilized and experienced as a leader who fought for the good and well being of all, caring even for the weakest, lowliest of Autobots, and loathing the Decepticons and Predacons with a passion.RevTibe wrote:And I don't think the change in his circumstance is that crazy either. It's not hard to imagine how a somewhat unhinged character prone to uncontrollable violent outburst could wind up imprisoned.
Example: On Cybertron, Shockwave's alterations to Grim' mind degenerate, he becomes more and more unhinged. Lost in the wilderness and stuck in beastmode, 'cons capture him to use as an attack dog, and they give him a fresh coat of paint and Deceptibrands. The 'cons are captured, the Autobots don't know the scary green monster is Grimlock, they put them all on the prison ship. Ship crashes, reboots Grimlock, fixing his brain, but damaging his memory.

Strongarm, going for the just cause it's a fembot, doesn't need for it to be a motorcylce, cool,
Deceps have animalistic heads....... all the better to tell the toys apart grandma...
fixit... can anybody see Russels' segway in his alt mode?
hey, by 2015, in the movie gap year, it'll become great...

its very slick and makes the style, which i dont hate but am not mad about, flow very well.
but i wont be following this. if its on i leave it on, but i cant see myself streaming it like i did with prime.
its got a great concept in the hunting down rogue decepticons. but like others have said i just dont like whats done with the characters.
TBH ive given up on the TV series as theyre clearly not made for me or many of us anymore (and from a certain angle thats rightly so). i guess my inner 12yr old doesnt get why i got the avengers of my youth a few years back but STILL cant seem to get a proper reboot of a transformers story i loved
guess ill just pin my hopes that SOMEDAY someone will finally cop on to what DC have been doing for fecking decades and do some direct to DVD films based on the comics for us old timers who'll actually spend money on it.
but hey ill wish it well. its got a good voice cast from what i saw and the potential to be a grand ol series in its own right. but just like a hawkeye and black widow spinoff series would be, its not my cup of tea.

The Autobots aren't even supposed to be on Earth. Their whole being there isn't intentional. And we don't know how many years after Prime this is, so there's no telling if Unit:E still exists.WiseMan wrote:What's with a dad, his son, and a junkyard? Plus, Ratchet came back to Cybertron in Predacons Rising.

Yeah, I agree with you here. The Aligned continuity was a mess when it came to making things flow from one medium to another that it actually became embarrassing. It was like nobody really tried to keep everything straight and just did their own thing. know 13 year olds who can write better than that.
And Rise of the Dark Spark was just...oh, god. Who thought that was a good idea anyway? File it under 'Things That Should Have Never Existed.'
On the show itself, I'm so painfully on the fence with it. I'm hoping that it doesn't end up like Age of Extinction: trying to be a sequel and a reboot at the same time and failing at both.

I thought Rise of the Dark Spark was just fine. It fit well between WFC and FOC for the game continuity, assuming that you ignore TF: Prime, the books, and the comics because of the horrendous plot inconsistencies.
As for the Age of Extinction side, I justify buying the toys based on the RotDS versions instead of the movie. Because the movie was a black hole where plot threads go never to be seen again.

I can't put my finger on why, but I always got the feeling that was temporary. Either way, I hope they explain the absence, even if it's just a one-line "Unit E was disbanded" sort of thing.

(Heatwave and his boat mode can get away with it because he got it way after he was first designed, he couldn't be JUST a boat, and making a triple-changing Rescue Bots figure is probably impossible.)

Isn't it still just the Unicron Singularity giving the Autobots memory problems? If that was somehow enough to make the Cybertron cartoon a sequel rather than a restart against all empirical evidence in the story, I'm sure that any day now, we'll get an official explanation that it extends beyond the Unicron Trilogy and fixes every inconsistency in Aligned.
As for Girmlock's new persona...is anyone else reminded of that weird pattern Renegades had of making some of the less memorable white guys on the Joe team black, then immediately killing them off, leaving you to wonder if they were really trying to make the Joes more diverse, or someone behind the scenes just wanted to intentionally invoke the "black dude always dies first" trope? Granted, making bit players blander and more forgettable than their ARAH incarnations was the more prevalent pattern, and this Grimlock probably won't get killed off anytime soon, but that's what it makes me think of for some reason.
Maybe it's just that this happens to be the last weekday for the HUB. sigh.
