I spotted a Henkei Inferno on eBay the other day, from an Australian seller. Would have $75 US (including shipping), but I got outbid when the auction ended (4:00am). Needless to say, I was disappointed when I jumped out of bed to see if I won it this morning... Stupid time zones. I probably won't see another one at a reasonable price.

I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences, on eBay or otherwise. What toy was it? How did it get away? Did you eventually acquire the figure, or did it truly get away from you?

Not new in box but at one point I saw Henkei Inferno for 50 bucks with the ladder.

I missed out on a BBTS sale that had MP Ghost Starscream for 75 bucks.

Brave Max: Couple of years ago I saw him at a decent price MISB on eBay so I decided to make a bid, anyway to cut a long story short I was basically outbid and the auction ended. Then a week later the seller contacted me to offer me a second chance as the original buyer couldn't/wouldn't pay, which was great except for the fact that I had already spent the money on something else thinking he was lost. I was gutted! :evil:

Mine was MP-10, Hasbro version. When I finally decided I'd go for it on my way back from a trip, I found out that the four that were left had gone! In three days! They'd been there for months!

I finally found one for usual UK retail price, but damn did that burn for a while.

At some point, the talking Prime Bumblebee stopped being available online for less than eighty bucks while I wasn't looking. I put it off, and then when I went to look into it again, it wasn't there any more.

Lucky Draw Black Magmatron. Right when I'd gathered the cash and was ready to pull the trigger, the seller decides not to relist it after it got 0 bids/no buys that last time (he'd put it up several times and it never sold, probably due to the high price). I was all set to buy it finally, but it hasn't been relisted since by that or any other seller for any price.

Weirdwolf had a happy ending. Bidding for him three years ago and internet connection cut out in the last minute so I lost hi. Had Kabaya Highbrow and Brainstorm so was desperate for more since I liked the scaled down size.

A few weeks ago I found another Kabaya Weirdwolf AND Mindwipe. I'm now the proud owner of both. They look great with G1 Scorponok and Snapdragon.

Still want a Hardhead and Skullcruncher.

Botcon Treadshot may sate the absence of the Machine Robo.

I know it's probably too late but why didn't you just contact the seller to ask him to relist it and that you'll buy it.

People have contacted me after I didn't re-list.

I missed out on a Diaclone "Perceptor" for under $30. The auction was into the final minute and my laptop lost connection from the internet. I was the top bidder. When I got back on I had lost by one bid.

Don't worry I've been an idiot as well at times, simply for passing on them or taking too long to decide on them. Here are mine:

BW Red Convobat and Purple Megaligator
Seen them twice in total, once MOSC and once loose but incomplete (Prime/Primal was missing his swords). I would have gotten at least the gator, but me thinking "I'd rather get them both at once and save me the hassle" lead me to missing out on them. Darn!

G1 Great Shot
Saw him last year, loose, incomplete (nothing G1 Sixshot can't fix), a bit yellowed, but low price! Asked for opinions, came back, he was gone. Bummer!

G2 Hero Optimus Prime
Yup, one that's actually a domestic general retail item. The one in question is actually the EU variant called Sureshot, that lacks the "Optimus Prime" text on his chest. Seen him a few times, but kept passing on him because of his low price, believe or not. Put my priorities on the more expensive items. :oops:

Saw him at a con I was visiting with friends. Always loved the design and seeing him made my heart skip a beat. Unfortunately, we had to get something else at the con for my in-laws, which left with not enough to buy him. Dagnabbit! :BANG_HEAD:

pretty much the entire universe 2008 line, missed out on TRU perceptor and insecticons and all the autobot cars, the 25th anniversary prime. I dont know what I was doing at the time to not pay attention

Every headmaster in 2006 when they were selling for $50 a piece instead of the $100 to $150 they're going for now. I was too busy buying combiners, which really haven't shot up in value all that much comparatively.

Experiences can range outside of eBay, correct? Because I have a buttload of those types, where I found something in a brick-and-mortar store I've been waiting for months to see, but didn't have the cash for it, never to see it again.

The most prominent example I can think of right now is my lost love, the Wal*Mart exclusive Masterpiece Starscream. Of course, we have a far superior Masterpiece Starscream now, but it was back then. Saw it once, never saw it again. I was devastated. Same experience can be said for Classics Devastator and Universe (2008) Superion (I really, really, really wanted Bruticus, but he never even came to my local Target, only Superion did).

Man, see what you did? Now I want to crawl into a hole and die for reliving those experiences. :-(
