If I remember right, Sting actually confirmed this in an interview. It would have been at Survivor Series that year.

Really? By the way they finished it, with the handshakes, hugs, and circlejerk between the NWO and DX, it seemed like they planned it to be a one final "WWF vs. WCW" match. And yes, WCW lost, but Sting should have won. The only way Sting should have lost was if he faced Taker. This ending just looked like HHH feeding his own ego. Like he has been for 18 years.

Time to bump this as well.

While I looked forward to the women's Royal Rumble, I was a little disappointed. I felt they trotted out too many retired (though it was great to see Lita and Molly Holly) and a lot of them spent time having naps outside the ring. The winner was no surprise, and I like that they're keeping her undefeated, I just hope they make Asukas first loss mean something, and not be a reason to put over some new talent.

And The Miz is still champ ... thank ****. Watching that match shows how good of a wrestler he is, or maybe it just highlighted how terrible Reigns is.

lol. Yeah. Great move there, have her show up at the end of the Rumble, take the light off Asuka and the two champs, then don't even bother to turn up at Raw.

Turns up, generates hype, promptly disappears. I guess she had to get back to filming that movie.

Is it just me or do the UFC/MMA people always do this. I'm looking at you Brock Lesnar. I forget the UT even exists because it is not often defended.

So I'm guessing Rousey will be treated like Lesnar? Show up twice a month for a Raw and a PPV? I didn't mind Asuka winning, but if they're serious with Rousey, she should have entered the Rumble and even if she didn't win, she should have dominated at least to some extent. I'm so glad I'm not wasting my time and money on this crap any more.

However, I am in the process of going through my collection of old wrestling tapes. I'm watching stuff I haven't seen in at least 10 years.

I gotta say, its time, beyond time, for Vince to go. You can tell in every story line when he gets involved. Likewise, you can tell when HHH, Shane, Stephanie, or the talent themselves are left to do things without him, its the stuff that works.

Look at how amazing a job Zach Rider did getting himself over a few years ago, on youtube no less. Then, Vince got involved, and crushed him, just to prove something?

He did great back in the day, but I firmly believe winning the Monday Night Wars did something to Vince's ego that he just can't come back from.

He has nothing/no one to challenge him. He also has a very set mindset on what makes a wrestler (big and powerful)

I'd like to see them move into a direction where they work more and more with other companies, no, not TNA, but overseas, the likes of New Japan. Rather than stealing talent, they can do talent exchanges. "Home grown" talent can get exposure and experience in Japan and the Japanese wrestlers can get exposure and experience on the US stage.

I could get on with that.

Personally, I've always been disappointed that TNA didn't' take off better than it did. A real competitor would bring out the best in both brands, as it did long ago.

I think TNA tried too hard to be WCW V.2, instead of becoming its own thing.

Well that was a **** Raw.

The Miz has to put others over once again, so that will no doubt be a triple threat match.
Two bright white guys buried two black guys two nights in a row during Black History Month.
The show was obviously shaping up to be so bad the champion couldn't even be bothered to turn up despite being advertised.
Rousey continues to demonstrate that she's in way over her head, now we're going to have to put up with her inexperience and Angle's age against Stephanie's inexperience and Angle's age.

FFS ... this Wrestlemania is looking crap after today.

I mentioned in my previous post that I was watching all the older WrestleManias, and I had just watched WrestleMania VII. After the career-ending (not really) match between Macho King and Ultimate Warrior, as Savage was leaving with Elizabeth at the end, it dawned on me: every participant in the match has passed away. Everyone, even the announcers. Savage, Elizabeth, Warrior, Sherri, Gorilla Monsoon, and Bobby Heenan. Maybe even the referee. The ending of the match has always been a favorite because of the feels, but it depressed me a bit when I realized that none of them were around any more. And sadly, other than Bobby and Gorilla Monsoon, (and maybe Sherri, I don't remember her cause of death) they would still be here if they had taken better care of themselves.

Unfortunately the only name I can associate with World Class is the Von Erichs. 3 of them died in the 80s, Kerry killed himself in '93 (or '94?) and Fritz died in '97.

World Class is kinda my jam as I loved the Von Erichs. Sad thing there are dozens of matches where the only guy still alive is the referee.

WrestleMania has been crap the last few years. The last good one was 31, when Rollins cashed the MitB on Lesnar and Reigns. Ironically, this year is the same main event, but I doubt it will be the same outcome. I think Reigns will win clean over Lesnar, killing whatever interest people still have in the WWE.

I put that on Lesner. Putting the belt on a guy who only show up a handful of times a year was terrible. When he can be assed to show up, he just stands the remaining grins like a jackass, while Heyman does all the heavy lifting.

Reigns would have made a great monster heel, but they pushed too hard before he was ready, and tried to make him the next Cena. Daniel Bryan was the only guy in recent years who g could have filled the "eternal face" slot.

Honestly, it all comes back to the fact that Vince has lost his touch, and it's time to hand it off to the kids.
