My favorite memory of Transformers was getting my first toy. It was a generation 2 Optimus Prime and I got him for my birthday. I was so excited that I had gotten him it was the one thing I wanted. I still have him to this day even though he is missing a few parts.

Granted I never really got REALLY into it till I got older. I do remember having my Daddy on Saturday mornings beat me to the punch on getting up w/ the cereal and watching the show on TV waaay before mom got up. I was super little at the time (TF came out the year I was born) but I remember him explaining a lot of it to me. He was as big a fanboy as I am now (though Im a fanGIRL). :D One of the many memories of my childhood with my dad that I loved :D

In the 90s, I used to get up on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons (usually early and loudly, which my parents were not thrilled with. Each Saturday, I would take one of my Transformers toys with me, and I would sit there, watching the show, transforming it back and forth with the cartoon. If Optimus transformed to a truck, I transformed my toy into a truck, and vice versa. It was always frustrating when I couldn't transform fast enough to keep up with the cartoon.

My favorite Transformers memory: When I was 8 (which was only 10 years ago), my uncle gave me a G1 Megatron toy. My little sister and I dressed Megatron in one of Ken's suits and married him to Barbie. Megatron would also accompany me to the grocery store, the sand box in the back yard, and the bathtub.

Well, I wasn't around when the original cartoon was out, and I certainly wasn't around for beast wars, machines, and all that good stuff. But that doesn't mean I still can't watch them and enjoy! When I was really little, by father got the entire first and second season of the original cartoon, and man I loved it. Sometimes I would watch episodes hours on end. I wanted to buy all of my favorite characters, but unfortunatly my mother wouldn't let me. It broke my heart not being able to have Optimus Prime, Bumble, Jazz, Megatron, others.... but what got me was that she agreed to buy me MP-04 Masterpiece Convoy when it came out. When ever I think about when I opened that huge box with such little hands, and holding the nice piece of metal always puts a smile on my face. Don't know why my mom didn't get me a 50$ Prime, but instead got me a 250$ Prime...but I sure am glad she did haha

i've read about 90% of the previous posts in here and i must say, the kid in me could imagine all of the different memories 8-}

as for my childhood memories, all i could remember was coming home from school and watching the cartoon. i loved robots and cars and when i first saw it, i fell in love at first sight lol. never really had the toys when i was young due to living overseas, but now that i moved and have spending $, i started collecting for 2 years now. never too old to collect and play right? :-B

My Favorite Transformers Memory is coming home from school on my birthday and finding Metroplex sitting on my kitchen table...I still have it complete and show it off whenever I get the chance. This must have been some 24 years ago, but it still feels like yesterday.

In 2001, which is pretty much as far back as I can remember, I was about 6 and my brother owned a RiD Ultra Magnus, the toy of which I think of every time I think about Transformers now. I didn't know what the heck it was that it turned into, but it wasn't the coolest car carrier that held tons of Matchbox cars that I loved, so I had my brother transform into vehicle mode every time I wanted to play with it. Every time I did, though, I broke it apart and whined for my brother to put it back together for me! Eventually the thing was either accidentally thrown away, or broken to pieces(which is more likely because I still find the Optimus head it came with and the chromed front fender lying around every once in a while). Come to think of it, that toy pretty much sums up me and my brother's relationship; him doing something for me, me screwing it up and whining, and him getting angry at me!! XD

My Favorite memory was waiting for hours in line to see the Original Transformers movie in 1986, then hearing Spock's voice as Galvatron, and in a funny way... Hearing Spike say "oh ****." That was the first time I'd heard that in a movie, i felt sneaky, like i'd heard a secret that my parents didn't know for several days. That was the coolest. Well it was the coolest thing a 6th grader from the middle of nowhere had heard.

My favorite Transformers memory was a time when I felt oddly superior at something in comparison to my brother. My brother had grown up on the G1 series, and collected the toys, was pretty good at transforming them. I grew up on Beast Wars, and while showing him the toys (he was much older than he was when he had collected G1, obviously), I was substantially better at transforming them than he was, with all his previous experience.

my favorite memory was when i was 10 and for Christmas i remember opening about 4 or 5 gifts that
were transformers i remember getting Jetfire ,Blaster ,Percepter, and Galvatron.
getting them made my Christmas the best it was all i ever played with
but the other favorite memory was on my 8th or 9th birthday I was coming home from school
and as soon as i walked through the door there was a present sitting on the piano
I had a feeling it was what I thought it was and sure enough I opened it and it was
the original Optimus Prime
taking those figures out of the box back then was so much more special probably because they were packed in

My favorite memory was waking up on Easter morning of 1988, and finding a sealed PMOP hidden for me. I wanted it, but did not expect to get it. Especially for Easter. It was a gift from my step-dad, who passed away just a few years ago.

I'm not so sure if its my favorite memory of my love of Transformers, but it is definitely one of the most vivid.
When I was five years old (c. '85-'86), I inexplicably stuck something into a wall socket and electrocuted myself. I ended up with burnt hands and gauze wrapped mittens. My grandparents surprised me with the then new G1 Skyfire!! It was amazing, the only problem was that with my hands wrapped I could not transform it, so I spent a week or more just carrying it around with me proudly.

Easy. Opening and playing with my Constructicon giftset with my dad. And then, surprisingly, realizing that my dad wasn't just stacking them one on top of the other. He was building a bigger robots made out of other robots that seconds ago were construction vehicles!

Weapon: Sword of Fury
My favorite memories of Transformers have to be all the times I couldn't figure out how the toys worked. I remember for the longest time I had trouble transforming the simplest things, like Beast Machines Strika, who I ended up breaking, as well as my first transformer, who oddly enough was Beast Wars Rampage. We are still finding pieces of his crab legs all over the house. To cap it off, I recently found, in the back of my closet, an arm from a RID Optimus Prime broken off at the elbow. It didn't come from my copy of the toy, and I still have no idea how it ended up there, which tells how long I must have had it for. These memories, while not of extremely happy moments, constantly remind me that Transformers have always been a part of my life, and that is why they are my favorites.

My very first transformer in 1984 was Bumblebee I bought him with my allowance. Later that year my dad bought me Optimus Prime for my birthday and Megatron for Christmas. That was my start with the robots in disguise, I now have well over 1000 figures from 1984-2011 and have never missed an episode of the cartoons and my favorite characters in order have always been Optimus, Megatron and Bumblebee.

My favorite childhood memory was actually what started my collection of Transformer toys. We were in Mexico visiting my Mom's family over Christmas, which is not when presents are given but not the point. Anyways to not make my brother and I feel weird my uncle went out of his way to find a nice item for my brother and another toy for me, mine being my first Transformer. And yes I know I was in Mexico but it was an official Transformer as I still have the packaging and he got it from a toy store there. Starscream is still one of my favorite ones and after that I steam rolled through getting various Transformers including Powermaster Optimus and renting the movie from the local library at least two or three times a month for almost a year once we returned back home.

Best childhood memory as a kid...

That would have to be just waking up and watching my favorite cartoon; Transformers of course! You couldn't drag me out of bed for school with a tow truck, but i had no problem getting up half an hour earlier then i would for school on saturday morning to watch my favorite Cartoon! I would ussualy always grab a couple TF toys and then run to the TV! man, those were the days. Not a care in the world other than how Optimus was going to kick the crap out of Megatron!

Probably my favorite moment was when my son saw my G1 Devastator on top of the entertainment center and asked to play with it...

Considering he's autistic, that was a bit of a feat in itself...

After that, he couldn't go anywhere without a transformer on him for like 8 years. It was interesting explaining to doctors why I let my little kid play with TFs, they all saw them as "war toys" - I told them that I was not giving him the whole story, made both sides part of one big happy team, and supported his habit to try and help him develop some manual dexterity... When they watched a 4-5 year old transform one on his own, when he could barely hold a pencil properly, they changed their tune...
