I'm still pretty satisfied with my Unite Warriors Devastator, but if this one gets a G2 repaint, I'd be all over that.

Devastator is...Devastator. Again.

Fallen looks cool though.
The rumorleaks say Superion is next (also next year), with Bruticus to follow in 2026.bengear wrote:Are there known plans for future combiners? I’ll go for dev, it looks good, and menasor looks way better than the previous verson. Any rumors of a new superion or anything else? The cw versions of combiners seem to have gotten better as they went along… but superion is just not quite there for me.

Yep, because Primus forbid we get any NEW combiners or characters.

...Isn't the whole point of SS86 to put out old characters with modern design and engineering?
New characters come from new material, like Cyberverse and Earthspark.

Eh, I'm just kind of burnt out on them running through 84-86 G1 yet again. Plenty are not, which is why they do it, so it's all good.Gearslide wrote:

Getting something for all the Primes is neato and while not brand spanking new in every case, it is for some of the 13 and feels "new enough" for me. Alpha Trion's the only tiresome retread in that bunch.

It occurs to me that it would be cheaper to pick up the last couple of limbs I need for CW Superion & Bruticus off ebay, the ones I keep refusing to pay over the odds for, rather than get whole new versions

As for the rumored upcoming Superion, I wonder whether Silverbolt will come with some sort of "exoskeleton" as Motormaster's trailer. After all, Silverbolt's original alt mode was roughly three times in size its fellow Aerialbots', despite not being much bigger than them in robot mode (I know, mass shifting and stuff).

Agreed. Dead horse and all that. Alpha Trion though...have we really had a definitive figure for him? One that isn't a repaint?

Is his arm gun the requiem blaster?
Looks like they gave him the rotf staff too

Devy only for g2 recolors, unite warriors is fulfilling my 86 needs on that one.

I'm wondering if we'll get SS86 Megatron out of this Fallen mold. Obviously why some heavy retooling.

With The Fallen, this iteration is named Megatronus and based on the DW design, but IIRC, he was never called Megatronus in DreamWave. And since TFOne came out, when Megatronus is mentioned, I expect a face that looks like the Con logo.
As for Devy, he seems barely taller than the leader Dinobots, so I guess that wrecks the adherence to the movie scale. Luckily the CW version scales very well with the Dinos so that one will stay on my movie shelf, while this new one will occupy my comic collection.

Mkall wrote:Also of interest is that in 2025, there will only be 3 waves lasting 4 months instead of 4 waves lasting 3 months (Studio Series and Age of Primes). There will apparently be NO holdover figures in the waves either. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Isnt Jazz a repack though? Or does holdover mean something else?

All of the G1 A3 figures have been repaints. The Legacy one felt really close to definitive regardless. Almost hate to even say it, but I wouldn't be shocked if they put that out again here in slightly barely different colors.First-Aid wrote:Agreed. Dead horse and all that. I have Takara's UW Devestator and, honestly, I don't love it. Too big and too simple. I have Herc and Giant from back in the day, but I'd like an official version at that size. So I'm down for this one. It'll be the only new combiner I get; I'm not ditching the UW ones I have. Not even Menasor.

Not feeling the constructions.

His Legs.
The proportions are really weird. His thighs are almost as long the entire portions below the knees. It's very apparent in the shot where he's standing next to Menasor.
In fact, Bonecrusher and Scavenger also have weirdly stubby limbs. Compare the figures to their G1 Art.

They meant figures from a wave won't show up immediately in a consecutive wave. They said all waves in a year will have different figures, no repeats.
Also first look at Star Prime and Liege Maximo who isn't part of the 2025 lineup.
If Star Prime isn't a Powermaster Prime pretool with that chest I'll be shocked! Could he have a smaller Prime mode then?

Why do you expect Hasbro to waste their time creating some new combiner that wouldn't sell as well as an update to the first Autobot G1 Combiner?

In light of the design reveals for The Fallen and Liege Maximo (along with the Vector Prime and Alpha Trion figures from Legacy), I wonder if each Prime will be based on their first appearance?
