Would you be satisfied with this as the new Soundwave for Transformers 2? Please begin a post with a stand-alone "Yes" or "No", then skip a line for other comments. I want to make this as clear as possible for anyone who may be browsing:

NO

The head is dead on for the movie style, but SoundWave is a espionage specialist with partners to assist in the various circomstances that may arise during a mission.

Depicting him as another combate vehichile to be deployed as a generial soldier takes away from who SOUNDWAVE is.

I like the design if the robot, put not its potential.

YES.

I actually prefer Soundwave as an aircraft over a car, mainly because I think of the sound barrier and his name still makes sense. Kinda. Cybertron Soundwave is an awesome figure, and serves as precendence for movie Soundwave as a jet. However, I would be satisfied with this design as long as he shows other Soundwave qualities. A good voice would be important, as well as exhibiting some of his espionage abilities. And he should definitely have minions.

Regardless of his alternate form, I want to see Soundwave!

That is nothing short of awesomeness, I doubt that figure will be used in the film but I hope it inspires some of Bay's team, some of who are doubtlessly here right now, hiding in plain sight...

Yes and NO

I say this because I love the robot design but the car mode from what I could tell of the Belkan M6 vehicle is that it's pretty much just an armored personnel carrier correct ?
An APC does not scream Soundwave to me unless he's equipped with some type of harmonic weapons or espionage capabilities.
Maybe he can deploy little "frenzy" type of cassettes or modern equivalents to spy on things ?

Yes.

But only because 1) This is better than anything the Bay crew has come up with for Soundwave, and only if 2) He can stll deploy his posse from his chest.

But like how you made his head directly resemble the Decepticon logo. Good stuff!

YES.

This design is great as Soundwave, and who's to say he can't have a whole bunch of survailance equipment onboard, thus giving him his spy persona. A satelite dish on top could transform into Laserbeak or sit on his left shoulder when in robot mode.

This design is such a great match for Soundwave, it's the design I used in my TF2.

BTW, that's Timshin73's design as said on the watermark, not DesalationReborn's, just to ensure the right person gets credit for this magnificant piece of work.

the robot mode kicks ass, but the vehicle sucks. Soundwave should be some kind aircraft, like a stealth bomber or an SR-71, A.K.A. the fastest jet in the world.

i love the bot style and the vehicle but the vehicle is way to small, i like the idea of that big raven airplane

Yes

I think it could work. Anything would be much better than an outdated cassette player. I have a feeling that Soundwave, who in many polls is the second most recognizable Transformer after Prime, will probably have a considerable roll in the next movie.

As for those who are concerned about how Soundwave's minions would work with this design, take a look at this <a href="http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=102241#102241">thread</a> that dates back to April, before the first movie hit theaters. They managed to come up with a completely awesome concept for how to handle Ravage.

There were Decepticons in the first movie that didn't fly. So why can't Soundwave be like one of them?

It's a good design. But it doesn't feel like it fits into the movie puzzle. Something's not exactly right. As a toy, i'm all system go for it. But for the movie, i'd rather keep my options open for more.
