The Star Wars Thread

One thing that I feel they need to do, is bridge the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, centred on Vader. Why? Because at the moment with all the media that's out there, it just feels like as soon as the mask went on, ANH Vader instantly came into existence.
I don't buy it. You don't go from being a whining angry emo to being a cold menacing cyborg overnight, which is what I feel the existing media portrayed.
There should be a transition somewhere as Vader comes to terms with who he was and what he has become, and I just feel that's never been fully explored in existing media.

Burn meant the first few years after vader became the cyborg we all know and love.
Rogue one is also set right before a new hope as it's all about getting the death star plans that we see leia with at the start of a new hope.

Why would anyone want to see that? Maul is over-rated.

Well you mentioned it, and you clearly missed my point. Rogue One will have little to do with Vaders story. I want a Vader centric story.

how do you know how little Rogue One has to do with Vader? do you have insider information? i suspect not! so your statement is based solely in speculation
so until we see the film.....we dunno how much or little i may or may not have missed the point

+ we really dunno at this point in time how much exposition Vader has in either Rogue One &/or Rebels tie-in episode.

Rogue One is set just before the events in A New Hope. As ZeroWolf has pointed out twice, it revolves around the stealing of the Death Star plans.
So even IF Darth Vader is in it, it still won't be the story I'm after.
I want a Vader story set just after Revenge of the Sith, a story that delves into the mind of Vader as he goes from being Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader.
At the moment all we really have a is temper tantrum, a nice long "NOOOO" and then boom, he's the bad ass we met nearly 40 years ago.
So tell me Stuartmaximus, does that sound like the sort of story we'll be getting in Rogue One?
Oh I know your answer, you don't know. It's all good. But perhaps now you'll understand the sort of story I'd like them to explore.

but i can't give a definitive answer on something that isn't even out yet(Rogue One & Rebels tie-in) as it would be pure speculation(& maybe even a wrong one)
but all we do know at this point is that Vader will appear in Rogue One! how much or little screentime he has is undetermined at this point
& hopefully he'll appear in the Rebels tie-in too.

Now yes, my speculation is just as good as yours but I know that this film has nothing to do with what burn wanted.
Addendum, what burn is asking for would require vader to be the main character.

ZeroWolf wrote:The problem is though stu, you brought rogue one into this as the solution to what burn was asking for, almost like you missed the point of what he wanted. I would wager that vader will be nothing more than a cameo (probably a end scene thing if the emperor telling him to retrieve the plans or Vader volunteering himself.) Afterall, for the third time I'm saying this, rogue one is not a vader story, you could do the story without him and nothing would be changed.

god alone knows? maybe they'll release a series of books/comics that will explore that

i'm not talking about the prequels! + if you watched the vid....Ewan or the reporter states that it would be set AFTER revenge of the sith & BEFORE a new hope

nitpicks......no commentary, not all of the deleted scenes are on it(Maz Katana bringing down the roof on some stormtroopers in the basement where Rey finds Luke's lightsaber is not included! + probably other cut scenes too), no mention of Ford's injury on any of the documentaries &/or making of!
the upside is....that some time later on....there's to be a release with much more extras included(doubtful there will be a Dir Cut).

The main cast of the game Star Wars: Republic Commando, and probably some of the better characters introduced in the Clone Wars era.

Well that's my December movie locked in.
Though I will have to watch that trailer again later to get the full effect, at a time when my kids are in bed.
