Deceptibase Tau- Command Center

"I see you haven't changed much, Bugly. I apologize for my informality but these are very complicated matters that I believe need to be discussed faceplate-to-faceplate. I hope you understand." Said Bomb-burst in a very calm tone.

Bugly was always the kind to overreact and blow up matters. And giving him authority only magnified the lengths he would go.

Deceptibase Tau - Rec Room

"'m sure I'll get around to them eventually, after I'm done making sure this place is defensible, because personally I find that making sure we aren't permanently taken off line by some Autobot to be far higher on my list of priorites than making sure you are comfortable." Hook said in reply to Bonecrusher, taking almost all the credit for the improved defenses. "And even higher on my list of priorities..." he said as he strode across the room in the general direction of Scrapper. "...is taking a well deserved rest." Hook finished as he stood in front of Scrapper who was deep in thought, looking at various data pads. "A priority which should be higher up on your list as well, Scrapper"

Deceptibase Tau - Rec Room

"Wha?" Scrapper looked up from his datapads, a little surprise at Hook adressing him. "Oh, I'll get some energon once you're all done, there's no rush." He turned back to his diagrams. "Besides, for me, designing things is relaxing."
"I suppose it's that I'm anxious to get to work using the Hieghts' resources. All of the projects that we'd thought up before, the high-grade-fueled pipe-dreams and the sparks of insight. They seem more acheivable now. Stuff like the Core Drill, or the Transfixatron, or my idea for that Citybot."
"Megatron'll never approve any of that stuff Boss." Scavenger said as he disconnected from the recharger. "Waste o' energon, and all that. He'll have us retooling the factories to make the same old drones as before. The safe kind, runs on fumes and barely smart enough to tell 'Bot from 'Con."
"Yeah, you're probably right Scavenger." But that depends on whether Megatron is the one who has the final say in what gets built in Tagan. Thunderwing has a reputation as being ambitious. That could work to our advantage...or against us and the entire Decpeticon cause. Either way, I'll have to pay attention to command around here.

Tagan Heights- Deceptibase Tau

"You'll be commanding Sweep Squadrons based on those currently not on patrol then so we don't lose patrols in the air. Go do as you feel you must with your part of the army." She says without malice towards Macabre's request, but it's apparent from the tone that she does this to humor him more than understanding why he'd want to be alone with his troops.
Still, she doesn't ask why. In truth, it's not important to her why when compared to the looming battle on the horizon, but she won't admit that.

Her face remains stoic as she looks out at the drones while she coordinates things on the ground. She does look busy, but make no mistake, she isn't giving Macabre command of some units because she can't coordinate them all.

In her processors is a map of Tagan she has made based on information taken from patrols, and she begins building a battle plan by putting units into groups of 5, most of those being in a V formation with 2 of the Sweeps flying slightly higher than the other 3 to allow more options in firepower dispersion.

Tagan Heights- Deceptibase Tau's Command center

Bugly hisses angrily at Bomb-Burst. "Are you malfunctioning, Decepticon? Is it not necessary for the commander of this base to know of any important details you have to tell me? If it's dire enough, shouldn't EVERY Decepticon know so they do not get caught up in these regrettable incidents you spoke of? We do not have the resources to expend on happy little accidents because of ignorance on anyone's part! If there is the chance that potentially important units may get wounded then we must try to avoid that."

Bugly's hand clenches into a fist in anger. Both hands would have clenched if it wasn't for the fact that one hand is replaced by a long techno-organic blade. "Bomb-Burst, you try my patience! I do not 'change' much because I expect some degree of professionalism when dealing with the chain of command! Tagan Heights is not a resort where you can drop rank, and you get to make demands of me! It is the most desired area in all of Cybertron! It is the front lines of the war! Understand that if we do not maintain order, then chaos will break out among the ranks, and we will -lose- because the subordinates cannot follow orders!"

"Don't you agree with that?" Those compound eyes glare angrily at the other Pretender who seems to want to keep his ailments secret.
Unfortunately there's no room for secrets when there's a chance of chaos among the ranks as far as Bugly goes.

Deceptibase Tau-Commcand Center

"Calm yoursef Bugly! I am not going to stress myself for that leads to accidents. Please understand that rushing myself is something very dangerous when it comes to me."

Bomb-burst placed his hands on the shoulders of Bugly, the Pretender had overblown the incident.

"I suffer from a severe energy difficiency, and ever since I recieved m Pretender shell, a sub-program has emerged. I find myself with less control of a certain primal urge to...extract energy from other Cybertronians. Haven't you noticed it? The mental connection we have with them has altered us...changed us...we are not the same as before..."

Tagan Heights- Deceptibase Tau's Command center

"I would not be so worked up if you had simply said that from the start, Bomb-Burst." Unblinking, unflinching eyes stare at the other pretender. "I have undergone no such change. I've gained a minion in my shell."
What is this nonsense? Why does he touch me like we're brothers? He'd grind his teeth if he had them. He humors Bomb-Burst's foolish attempt at camaraderie, though, and does not fight back against the gesture, even though he wanted to collapse Bomb-Burst's chest with a well placed punch.

"I will say this -once-, Bomb-Burst. If you practice that "sub routine" on another Decepticon, I will deactivate you." He leaves no room for argument with that statement. "There's enough Energon flowing here to keep us all topped off." He offers up some reason.
"As I said before, we cannot afford to have anyone in the repair bay while we fight off the Autobots. Tagan Heights is the front lines, and any shortage in our numbers due to Decepticon actions is unacceptable!"

Then it happens. Some discomfort. His shell felt it.. ... Rust?
Indeed, the metallic parts of his shell have began to corrode.

With a monstrous yell Bugly throws a sudden, and perfect punch honed in his mastery of Circuit-su aimed for Bomb-Burst's chest. A punch that's focused enough to emulate the strength needed to send his fellow pretender reeling across the room should it hit true. "YOU FOOL! You gave me rust rash?!!"
"I am going to the infirmary to remedy this." He exits the command center to head for the infirmary muttering abut insolence, and sounding thoroughly angry.

Decepticon Outpost Tau

Upon returning from the weapons display, Thunderwing had secluded himself in his office. In additon to beginning a new City Commander's log, he took the time to review the files of the new arrivals to the Heights. He wanted a working knowledge of who he would be commanding. Who would be useful. Who would be trouble. And most importantly, who could be relied upon if Roadblock attempted to usurp him.

The Valckastan was interrupted from his work by the transmission from Roadblock and Bugly.
The aristocrat replied to the Ground Forces Commander perfunctorily. >>"Very good, Commander. Please update me when the situation changes."<<

As to the matter of Bomb-burst...

Considering his own sensitivity to unusual energy patterns, Thunderwing was quite happy to address that situation via proxy. It would dually serve as a test of Bugly's skills. If the tactician lived up to his rather service record...he may have need of a mechanism like that. After all, one could never be too careful.

Lord Thunderwing opened a comm channel to Bugly. >>"Bugly. Have you assessed the situation with Bomb-burst? What is your recommendation?"<<

Deceptibase Tau- Command Center

Bugly sent him flying back hard and fast, his chest felt like it caved in. He had never knew of this ability he had gained, and it had cost him dearly in finding out.

"Wh-what's happened to me?" Screeched Bomb-burst as he looked at his hands,"What did Scorponok do?"

Thousands of thoughts raced through his neural processor, and they didn't seem to stop. Neural surges here and there, like a thousand blades were inserted into his cranial unit.

I thought I would be safe if the shell stayed in the hangar! But I was wrong, it's curse follows me even now!

He lifted himself from the ground, he needed shelter, and only one thing could give him that. He beckoned his shell, if he was becoming a monster, it was fitting that he look like one.

Tagan Heights- Deceptibase Tau's hallways

He sends a transmission to Thunderwing in reply sounding a bit irritated but holding his temper. >>I feel he should be quarantined.. no, perhaps that is over kill.. He should be stationed with care until he's proven able to handle his new abilities. His new abilities are a danger to the Decepticons around him if he, and those around him are not careful to say the least, as he gives rust rash on contact. He also claims he has acquired vampiric abilities. His control over it is not known by me, but he seems worried about it. I'm presently heading for the infirmary to be treated for the before mentioned Rust Rash.<<

>>However, Bomb-Burst is still likely a valuable warrior to have in the defense force of Tagan Heights. I feel that I have given ample warning against his using his abilities against other Decepticons, so he should fall in line. If not, then certainly we can deal with him as we do with other uncontrollable Decepticons.<< He adds calmly.

Deceptibase Tau - Rec Room

"You're right of course Scavenger, but Megatron isn't here, is he?" Hook said, replying to Scavnger's statement that they'll be doing the usual retooling of factories. "Besides, Megatron could hardly argue should we build this city bot, Trypticon I think I'll refer to it as..." Hook said, perhaps hinting a bit too much at what they could achieve. "After all, who would argue with a group of overworked (in my opinion) workers, with an intelligent, city sized weapon..." Hook said, now drifting off as he sat down, opposite to Scrapper. "In fact, perhaps I could help you with those plans..."

Deceptibase Tau - Rec Room

A murmur went around the room as the Constructicons all rushed to give their thoughts on this new idea.

"Ah come on, Hook. Even all the mines of Tagan won't produce enough metal for something the size of what Scrapper's got there."
"Conversion, Scavenger. Recycling, reaquisition. The war has left ruins, shells, obsolete sectors. They can be repurposed, form a skeleton, a base with which to build up from, reconstruct, renew."
"Yeah! Better those rusty ol' warehouses were walking around than just sitting there!"
"Walking? You think this thing should have legs?"
"How's it gonna step on stuff if it don't have legs?"

Scrapper took all this in calmy, taking the recharging cable from Mixmaster and plugging in while the debate went on. Ah Hook, you're back to yourself again. Since the incident with Triggerhappy, Hook had seemed withdrawn, almost meek. Now he was back to his boastful, ambitious self again. I'll assume that's a good thing.

"Gentlemechs! If we wish to proceed further on this...project, we'll need to face some of the issues surrounding it's undertaking. If that's how we wish to spend our break time, so be it."
"Better than yakkin' 'bout mortar 'n gunbarrels for 3 cycles..."

"First, Hook has been kind enough to name the project: Citybot Trypticon. I personally would have thought 'Grandus' or 'New Kolkular' would have done, but very well.
"Secondly, I think Megatron would be in a position to argue if we diverted resources to this project, because he is expecting that, once the Tagan facilities are completely secure, that resource production flows from here to fuel the war effort. If a significant fraction of that production is diverted, Megatron will inevitably notice. So we would need approval beforehand."
"Thirdly, commentary on our workload aside, aside, you're expecting us to be in command of this weapon once it is complete. That would seem a little presumptous, given that we already have such a weapon under our direct command: Devestator. Would you give 2 superweapons to the same small group, if you were Megatron?
"And finally, there you go again with the 'intelligent weapon' thing. We tried that with the Sweeps, and the AI computers malfunctioned everytime from the battle stress. We had to resort to standard drone protocols slaved to a group of Sparked warriors. Do you really think you can solve those problems, on a scale a hundred times bigger?
"Frankly, compared to those issues, the logistics would be a snap."

Yes, there are answers to all of those, rather obvious ones in fact. But I'd rather not voice those right now.

"But yes, you can help with the design Hook. Your input would be vital for something on that scale."

OOC: Obviously, we're not going to just build Trypticon just like that, as the rules have specifically stated he and Metroplex are not to be applied for. I brought him up so as to give the Constructicons a plot thread where they deal with the process of just seeing whether it can be done, and to give them motivation to get involved in any power struggles between Thunderwing and Megatron. Not a single bolt will be screwed into place before the mods decide that's a good idea. (To be frank, I think the Autobots should have a turn coming up with a new secret weapon.)

Also, just wondering if Foxhound is still there, and if Long Haul would like to chip in.

Also, any of the new arrivals who haven't been given orders, the Rec Room is a natural place for them to gravitate to.

Don't mean to post twice in a row, but perhaps this will get things going.

Radio message from Kaon to Macabre and Discord
Scourge speaking. I have been given orders from Lord Megatron to redeploy the remainder of the sentient Sweeps to Tagan. I would appreciate if everything was in readiness by the time I arrive. The Sweep drones need to deployed in a 50-megamile perimeter around the base to ensure there are no autobot encroachements. Proper quarters need to be arranged for the Hunt. And Thunderwing must be adviced that I am coming. I trust you two will see to this. Scourge out.

Tagan coastline - Rust Sea

The Supply Tanker made landing in the same location that the Decepticon attack force had a megacycle before. Banzai-Tron saw discarded landing ships and wrecked coastal defenses all around as the ship beached itself on a conglomerate of rust, grease and nut and bolts. He stood on the edge of the ramp as it came down, and listened past the noise of the 3 supply transports starting up their engines.
Boltshears, a transport driver he'd chatted to on the way, called down to Banzai-Tron as he walked up the beach. "Hey buddy, want a lift? It's a fair ways to the base".
"Nah, it's fine." Banzai-Tron looked in the direction of the devestation the Decepticon have carved heading to the base. "I'll walk it."
And, in a blur of motion, he was gone.

Blast-Off looked out the window. Yeah, this place sure is ugly. The Constructicons can make buildings, apparently they just can't make them eye-appealing. Primus knows, I could do a better job than that. He was bored out of his CPU. "Hey, Mr. Ace pilot?" He said to Swindle with mocking sarcasm, "How long 'til we reach the landing pad?"

"Oh sure, most warriors know their guns enough to keep them maintained." Swindle could name a few that had problems loading their blasters or fixing missiles to their wings. "But I, as a trained munitions specialist, have been trained in the use, maintenance and performance specs of virtually every weapons system in modern use by the Decepticon forces, and I'd appreciate if you acknowledged that that's more than a klik's worth of reading the manual, Blast Off."

"Now as for arrival time, I'd make it another breem to get there, so I wouldn't get all worked up about it. I'll just call in now..."

Rampage was still preoccupied with the window to care too much about what the combaticons did or said. After all he wasn't one for long periods of doing nothing for no real reason. He was slightly interested to hear they should be landing relatively soon but other than that he was still rather bored. Well that and there really wasn't much that was interesting outside of the window anyhow.

Motto: "One shall stand, one shall fall."
Weapon: Static Laser Gun
Deceptibase Tau ~ Sweep Control Room

Macabre was sitting in the dark alone with his non-sentient troops when Scourge's transmission came through. 50 megamile intervals sounds about right. Not that I have any say in the matter now.

Opening a communications channel to Scourge, Macabre replied, >>Orders recieved Master. As you command, this Scraplet will obey.<<

Macabre stood and walked over to the control room main computer and brought his Sweep units online. Feeding the neccessary information into the computer to command the sweeps, he then opened a comm-link to Discord.

>>This Scraplet is mobilizing units now at 50 megamile intervals from bearing 181 mark 27 to 375 mark 95. That should cover the north-western border region.<<

No Autobots will slip past my early warning sensors.

Completing the transfer of access codes to command the Sweep squadrons, Macabre moved up and down their ranks giving them one last inspection. They were fine looking troops, armed with the most advanced and deadly weaponry. The eagerness of filling the Autobots with fear filled his thoughts and moved him into action.

"Sweeps! You have your orders. Now execute!"

Macabre ran to the nearby hangar bay and his troops fell in behind him like mechanical shadows. From the hangar bay, he watched as each Sweep transformed and took to the sky with calculated precision. The manner in which the Sweeps moved in perfect unison would likely make even the stoutest of Autobots quake in their armour, for it was truly an eerie sight. Macabre simply smiled as he transformed and followed his troops and took in all the information that his troop's sensors relayed to him.

Double checking to see if Deceptibase Tau was recieving the transmission of information as well revealed that the data stream was operating at maximum efficiency. Macabre was pleased that all was going well. Discord would likely be pleased as well. Her first command was going off without a hitch. With our Sweeps deployed, what could go wrong? If the Autobots counterattack now, it will be their demise.

Tagan Heights- Deceptibase Tau

>>Understood Mighty Lord Scourge. I hope the orders I have given the Sweeps meet with your approval. Your orders will be transmitted.<<

She verifies that her Sweeps are in position as she had already had them in the requested formation. At least her own units anyhow.

She replies to Macabre. >>Well done.<<

Then one more transmission is sent to Thunderwing. >>Lord Thunderwing, Sweep CO Scourge is on his way. I shall seek to prepare accommodations for the oncoming Sweeps.<<

She hadn't even made accommodations for herself or Macabre yet. Honestly she didn't care about her own comfort right now. Work is to be done. Pleasure comes later as the sweet sweet reward for her hard work.

She begins by accessing a map of Deceptibase Tau and picks the largest most comfortable room that is Vacant. >>Mighty Lord Scourge, A room at this location is claimed on your behald. I hope it meets with your approval.<<

Radio message from Scourge to Discord

Your alacrity is appreciated, Discord, but I'm not coming for a vacation! I don't need whatever ostentatious rec-room the Autobot command waste their time in. I need quarters for The Hunt as a whole, the four of you and me. We need space close to the hangars, access to fuel and other supplies, and most critical, I need an operations room, to command the Sweep Drones and work on intelligence. That will require equipment and computer access. If Thunderwing denies you any of this, inform me. Do not press him, the last thing we want is to annoy him.
As for the Drones, all seems well. The important thing is that we know of any and all Autobot activity in the region. I expect the utmost vigilance, although I suppose if you have to requisition our new quarters, then The Scraplet will have that job. See to it.

Deceptibase Tau - Main Gate

Well, this thing looks pretty sturdy. But by the patches in the walls, I'd say it hasn't been used in a while
Banzai-Tron stood in front of the gate, looking up at the hieght of the walls. All in all, it looked pretty impressive, even with the mismatched patches of wall. Couldn't say much about the rest of the base from this angle though.
I could probably climb it. Heck, I still have my flight unit, I can just hover over. But that seems rude somehow. Also, if they have 2 microchips to rub together they'll have defenses set to stop exactly that. I suppose I should just do it the old-fashioned way.
Banzai-Tron pushed the signal button on the nearby comms unit. "Hello? Is anyone there? Reinforcements waiting outside here. Could you open the gate, or is there a side door I can use? I bet there's a side door, it's an Autobot kind of thing to have..."
No immediate reply. Barely anyone on the wall, a lookout or 2 in a faroff corner. Banzai-Tron leaned against the wall, and decided to wait.

Well, she sure as scrap isn't going to loose her job if she has any say in the matter.
Scourge's words shot deep into her mind, and she heeds them well.

She begins finding the most appropriate room that's vacant, and finds one suited to his needs. It's one of the briefing rooms of one of the few hangars the Autobots have, and she is the first to claim it for the Sweeps.
One is found, and she transmits the coordinates and room details to Scourge >>I pray this room meets your approval.<<

Skies of Tagan - Combaticon Shuttle

Brawl chuckled appreciatively at Swindle's acerbic response to Blast-Off's repeated needling. Vortex quickly prodded the tank rough in the side with his elbow, gesturing with his cranial unit toward the silent Onslaught. Their Commander, though difficult to read through his rigid military bearing, faceplate, and visor, was plainly growing increasingly more exasperated as the journey from Polyhex wore on.

"Once he starts rubbin' that spot between his optics, you know they've had it," the interrogator said to his pugnacious teammate in a loud whisper, eliciting another grating laugh.

"Best power down yer vocalizer, Vortex," Brawl advised with good-humored gruffness. "'Fore he has me pull it out for ya."

Without being entirely conscious of the fact, Onslaught began running a digit over the smooth metal between his optic sensors. It was getting to be all but impossible to hear himself process data with his subordinates' increasing garrulousness. But at least they would be landing shortly. That should mitigate his inclination toward spontaneous field executions.

ooc: Yeah, can't go making something as big as Trypticon without the Mods consent. If it were to come about though, he'd probably have to be mod controlled and he probably couldn't survive for too long either...

Deceptibase Tau - Rec Room

"Ha! New Kolkular? Getting a bit sentimental are we Scrapper?"Hook replied to Scrapper's comment of what he would have named Trypticon. "Although, you are right in one aspect, Megatron would not leave us in command of such a machne. But, what if nobody was in command of it? Yes, the Sweeps didn't work completely as planned. But, what if we were to take existing sparks of captued Autobots, or willing Decepticons and were to use those instead of new sparks? Of course though, the sparks would probably be unable to cope with the stress of a full body transfusion. But still, imagine what we could achieve with Trypticon. With someone on his scale, this war would be over in nano clicks." Hook paused for a moment. "You know, I belive I'm on to something here..." Hook said, completely disregarding Scrapper, despite the idea being his.

Deceptibase Tau - The Yard

What administration had made it into Tagan acknowledged Swindles signal, notified Command, and gave the Combaticon shuttle safe approach to land in the newly captured base.
"Femmes and Gentlemechs, we are touching down at Tagan International. Please keep your seatbelts fastened until the aircraft has come to a complete stop. Thank you."
Swindle's landing was a lot gentler than his takeoff. He'd made sure to learn it the best: It was the most important part of flight, after all. The Combaticon's shuttle neatly hovered into the Hangar Bay, and landed, doors opening as the engines powered down.
Swindle checked all the systems for the last time, and headed for the door. Outside, he waited for Onslaught's orders, stooping down every now and then to pick up and pocket some lost part which hadn't yet been cleaned up. Nice place. Could do with a clean.

Rec Room
OOC: Long Haul is listed as unclaimed again, so I guess I'll fill in anything he needs to be doing.
The Constructicons looked on as Scrapper and Hook discussed their new project plan. Bonecrusher was genuinely interested for once: A walking city that destroyed everything in its path appealled to him. Scavenger was worried that all this talk of taking resources would anger Megatron, and wished he could think of a way to change the subject. Mixmaster mused on what kinds of metals would be needed to sustain the weight of a city on legs. And Long Haul grumbled next to the recharger, sure that once again, he'd have to haul all this junk around.
Scrapper just looked at Hook. I suppose I should admire his enthusiasm... "That could work, I suppose. With the work we did on the sentient Sweeps we potentially have the basis of performing such a transfer. I still think it would be safer to scrub a spark and program it though. We are talking about building another Scorponok here, or worse, we can't risk any...instabilities." Which reminds me, I must learn exactly how the Sweeps are turning out. I've had precious little interaction with them since activation. If they are showing problems, that implies the spark recycling isn't as effective as we'd hope. And that would have wider implications.
"I'd never suggest that Trypticon isn't an objective worthy of our skill, or that it wouldn't have an great effect on the battlefront. My point is that the effort in creating it could be too great, and would pull too many resources from the war effort, which could be disastrous. The entire point a siege unit like this is appealling is that we're facing a siege, to force the Autobots out of their remaining fortifications. But if we were to drain our side of resources..."
"Look, this is all semantics. It's ultimately the decision of High Command. All we can do is design the unit, optimise the design to achieve reasonable specs with a least amount of resources, and present the design to Command at the appropriate time. That's our job as engineers. Now, if you want to work on Internal components and layout, and I were to work on the overall structure and layout, and Scavenger were to do some calculations based on a reasonable building time, that would be fine. Or we can play cards or something."
Damn you Hook. You know how much I want this too. Slag, if only we could be sure that it would be worth it. But nothing has been sure since this war started.

Command Room

Informed that Bugly was inside the Command Room of the base, Bludgeon headed there, passing security. Checking his ID was at most protocol as Bludgeon was not exactly unknown.
Taking an elevator, he arrived at the correct floor and left the room.
"I'm here to see someone from command." he stated "I was told Bugly was inside" he noted dryly.
"Correct..." the sentry said, opening the door. "Go on in".
The small Master of Metalikato entered at that... .

Tagan Heights- Command Center

Bugly is indeed in the command center looking over a map of Tagan Heights. His pretender shell's eyes are absorbing data at a phenomenal rate with continual reports from the Sweeps patrols coming in.
The metal of his pretender shell glints from anti-rust rash ointment to deal with the Rust Rash compliments of Bomb-Burst.

The map is fairly detailed as he demands it. So detailed that it tracks the movements of every Decepticon in Tagan Heights with the aid of a network of Sweeps sensors, and base sensors.
It's not out of paranoia, but out of a desire to keep on top of tactics.

"Yes, Bludgeon?" Bugly turns around, facing the fellow mystic martial artist. "What can I do for you?" He speaks in a respectful tone to a fellow practitioner of nearly dead, but ultimately deadly arts, and someone who's almost as mystical as himself.

It dawns upon him that Mindwipe is stationed here, though currently in Uraya. With Bludgeon, Mindwipe, and Himself here, they represent a powerful combination. Perhaps something good my come of this?

Deceptibase Tau - The Yard

"Well, I for one am still confused as to how we got here in one piece, but then again, chances are you just sold your spark to Unicron." Blast-off stepped off the shuttle in his usual demeanor: annoyance plus ego, with aoinch of sarcasm. he looked around. Nothing that he hadn't already seen out the window. Slag, this place is boring.
