Indeed. I'm pretty sure of the Three show Fuzors, Quickstrike is the only one not to receive a repaint at all. Which does leave him as a source of untapped potential.

It's not like they can be handwaved as another "distant colony" IE IDW Maximals. They are literally protoform malfunctions.

But the whole point of Legacy as it stands now is bringing existing continuities together, not making new ones to explain remade characters. Any Fuzors brought into Legacy would still be the same characters from Beast Wars, even if their backstory was whatever was in their bio card.

But Legacy isn't line-wide. It's cherry picking from the non-G1 lines. You're not going to get Car Robots Ultra Magnus* or Animated Dinobots. Legacy Air Hammer or Terragator wouldn't make sense, since they don't have a legacy to represent. Even in the Beast Era.


*I would have said Car Robots Gigatron. But that's one I really want...

There's literally nothing preventing those figures from happening in Legacy.

I think you're being more picky about this than the company that gave us Crasher and couldn't be bothered to say what Universe she's from so they just made her a default G1 Decepticon. Characters don't get used because Hasbro doesn't think they'd sell, not because they aren't willing to just make up whatever excuse to use them.

Crasher has Legacy. As a name and visual design. Plus Fem Bots are en vogue and she was the first (If I recall correctly?).

I liked TM Terrorsaur because his 3rd mode was essentially a homage to G1 Laserbeak.
TM Rhinox... I just wish the design had made it into the show. Better scaled with everyone else and that "altmode" better realised.

...yeah I gotta agree with Emerje here, we're at the point where we're getting Cyberverse Chromia and Prime Thundertron in Legacy next year and Kaskade this year, I don't think the criteria for getting into Legacy is as involved as this argument is trying to make it out to be.

Also thanks to Cyberverse Air Hammer technically has a show appearance now.

There are literally no limitations to whatever characters can be chosen. How they get chosen, well... (sorry about the quality):

Not this version and not in Transformers. This is a G1 Decepticon Crasher, not a Gobot Renegade Crasher and not a 2007 Movie Fracture, she's something entirely new (if you ignore comic repurposing, which you should since that was much later and this isn't a "comic universe" figure).

The retail line figures have been released in groups of roughly 3-5 characters every two to three years. Aside from the recent Core Class. They have never been released in concurrent lines at the same time. The Leader Class line ain't even finished yet. I doubt there are additional plans in place for the complete Animated Dinobots in Legacy. Let alone the Gamer Series Dinobots. The Leader Class line is very much being touted as the definitive Dinobots, for a reason.

Plus, just to nip this in the bud. Legacy was never going to feature every version of every character from everything. It is just naïve to think otherwise.

Obviously, Legacy will never have everything that ever existed.

But you can't rule anything out. And that include Studio Series. No one saw SS Gamer coming after all.

And if you have lots of time on your hands, you can read the whole thread starting at page 1. There's countless wishes that we said "will never happen" that they DID happened over the years.

The thing with the Fuzors (and Dinobots) they are one-off moulds that require a lot of effort to produce. I've heard a lot of people say that the Leader Class Dinobots are so good. Now they are ok with the fact that only Grimlock has been made in the Masterpiece Line.

Torca, Sky Shadow or Snarl can't be anything else. When Leader Class Swoop comes out, that is it for the five Principle Dinobots. Would HasTak then look to the Foc Dinobots and Animated Dinobots after that as a worthwhile expenditure? Guaranteed to sell and not shelfwarm? Grimlock will likely always sell. But are the others different enough to ensure the same result and not diminishing returns?

I opt for caution, to not get my hopes up. Because I'm a realist. I've seen too many lines and characters I adore fall by the wayside.

We had Kingdom Grimlock in 2021 the same year as SS86 Grimlock, in 2023 we've had Core Grimlock, SG Grimlock and G2 Grimlock all at once. Howabout all the Arcee figures we've had since Earthspark representing several different characters of the name? People used to say Masterpiece figures would disqualify mainline figures from happening in a given year but that has been proven not to be the case several times over the years. Hasbro will always do figures as they make sense to them and it's really in their best interest to use names as often as possible to keep them from expiring.

I don't know who would have thought that, it's going to be on a three-ish year plan just like any other trilogy from Hasbro and has limited slots at retail plus exclusives. But just like Legacy took over what War for Cybertron started with blending different lines I can guarantee whatever the successor to Legacy is in 2025 it'll also be doing the same thing.

Oh, no doubt that's why they chose a female figure, but they had their choice of fembots that were all retooled from PotP Moonracer, they haven't done a mainline Windblade since Titans Return and they've never done a mainline Slipstream of any kind. They chose her because she'd sell, not because there were basing her on some specific version of the character. I wouldn't read anything into that comic blurb, it starts with the header "G2-INSPIRED DESIGN".

Uh, toy lines aren't media, I shouldn't even have to explain why it makes no sense to say they are. But if you really want to say they are then that's no different than saying Beast Wars is the media for Fuzors which therefore makes them valid inclusions as Beast Wars Universe figures in Legacy (or whatever). I mean compare everything we know about Axlegrease to everything we know about Torca. In a line designed to bring together multiple Universes they've never once given guidelines one what is considered part of the media. If Junkions are part of Legacy's (non-existent) media then Fuzor's are part of Beast Wars' (well established) media by default.

At time of writing, the Wiki's featured character of the month is Apelinq. This got me thinking about Convention redecos. Wishing there were more of these redecos, with individual bios. The Fox Kids redecos and/or those that popped up in UT are all well and good. But the former are just different colours of the same characters. The latter are kind of nebulous between the two eras. As is known, I'm a fan of the mass produced angle of Transformers lore. The Seekers, Datsun brothers etc Now Terrorsaur and Rattrap have this already, with their own redecos. However, Ramulus technically has three redecos (still wild for a character unused in cartoons). It would be great if all three meant something as individuals.
