Doesnt matter, it still makes sounds so its a fun little bot on its own. And for 12$, totally worth it. And you know what else was worth it? The MP Gobots. They are smaller than I imagined but with the die cast, accessories and really modular cool base/stands I think they are worth the $35 US I paid for each.

Despite all the controversy behind this all too brief toyline I really love these figures. They're gorgeous. I need more. I need a Cheetara. Hopefully some company can continue this series.
Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

Whats the controversy?
a while back MattyCollector announced they were taking on the ThunderCats Classic license (after a couple of false starts from Bandai years ago) designed to match their long running Masters of the Universe Classics line. So ThunderCats fans like me were like OH HELL YES and got all excited. Jan 2016 we subscribed to the figure line (so you get the Club Exclusive Mumm-Ra mummy shown in my photo) and wait til September for the figures to start coming out monthly (Lion-O being the first) then in summer right after the announced SDCC Wilykit and WilyKat set (by which point we were all tied into non-cancellable subscription schemes) MattyCollector announces they were shutting down and there would only be this one small wave of ThunderCats figures. So those of us were like... wah? ANOTHER FALSE START of ThunderCat classics and we were all upset cos we'd seen the MotUC line last about 7 years with tons of figures even real obscure ones and we were only getting a tiny portion of ThunderCats, and not even the half the main team. MotUC collectors are sorta ok cos MattyCollector passed on that license to Super7 as Mattel own the MotU franchise but ThunderCats is a licensed franchise that Mattel don't own and while there's been talk about Super7 obtaining it and being able to continue the ThunderCats Classic line in the same vein as these ones it's not looking very likely. So now we've paid about £200 or so for a very small line of figures we had expected to continue purchasing into the collection we've wanted since we were kids but been hugely let down again. And if the T'Cat license does get taken up by someone other than Super7 we'd have to hope they continue it in this style or we'll have to buy new versions of Lion-O and co again (I already bought all the failed Bandai T'Cat Classics 8 inch Lion-O and Tygra years ago which they abandoned and started again with 6 inch Lion-O and Mumm-Ra before they gave up again). It's just extra painful that these figures are really frickin' gorgeous and I neeeeed more and was hoping to have at least the main characters all complete as well as various secondary and minor characters many of which didn't even have toys in the original 80s toyline.
Sorry for the huge chunk of text.

Hit Walmart, Target, and Kmart hoping to find the new Voltron figures, but nothing yet. Not even sure if these stores will carry them. Looks like Walmart.com might have the combining figures on 1/12, I see they have a pre-order for the Black Lion anyway.

Then, I made an impulse purchase.
Call me weird, but I just had to buy that vintage 1963 Scooter from Barbie. Blonde swimsuit edition.

She was expensive but fairly priced at 40$CAN because her little red shoes are missing. Otherwise, she's in an amazing condition. Now I only need to find a doll stand and her vintage red shoes.
....
Cheapest vintage red flat shoes are 18$CAN shipped on Ebay... Why?...
...
Sigh...
....And bought...
Did I just openned Pandora's Box and started another kind of collection?

My local TRU actually had 4 of the 5 lions a few weeks back. The missing one was one of the limbs but I can't remember which. Maybe I'm spoiled by HasTak, but the quality looked pretty bad. I didn't even inspect it that thoroughly as I wasn't looking to buy it but was curious, and I easily noticed imperfections in the plastic and paint. I'm disappointed because I love Voltron and really enjoyed the Netflix series. The new toy line does not do it justice. Maybe I'll pick it up if it's heavily discounted.

Man, I wish I had that option. You probably didnt notice, but the language used on those boxes is strictly english, which means it cant be distributed where I live. So, if I ever want to own the, I have to import them at full price.

One thing I can guarantee, you will NOT regret that Thunder Megazord. It's really amazing.
Got the White Tigerzord that go with it? With any luck, it may still be huntable on sale.

I saw them at Target today. They look pretty nice. Sort of tempting, but it really just made want to get my old one out of storage.Emerje wrote:Hit Walmart, Target, and Kmart hoping to find the new Voltron figures, but nothing yet. Not even sure if these stores will carry them.

Yeah, I have the Tigerzord, remember? I got it for 70$ a few weeks ago when it finally went on "clearance". And yeah, I got the Ninja Megazord for 100$ CDN (which is a decent price and a good figure). I kinda regret the bird though, its smaller than I thought and does almost nothing. Also, I kinda screwed up on the Dragonzord, you need the Legacy Megazord to be able to get his robot mode. While he can combine with any other zord with zordbuilder ports, the piece that lets him combine with others is only found in the megazord set. Here is hoping for a reissue, although I will try to see how I can combine him with the dinocharge megazord when I have a second. He does look gorgeous though.
I am just wondering though, how do you know I wont regret the thunder megazord? I havent opened him yet.

My first entry into the large sets and I'm impressed. The complexity is staggering.

Will you get out of character and buy the original Legacy Megazord on Ebay? Or the black version?
By the way, we have to forget about having the GIANT movie Megazord.
