The Toy Haul thread (non Transformers only)

Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

and the rest of my Birthday presents! None other than Lion Ha-Oh!

Nice little city molded into that cavity on his back in ojo mode...
Image
After standing him up and putting everything in place... Poor little Aka Ninger can't see...
Image
Now spin that torso around and let Shurikenjin have his seat and tear apart Bison King for parts and you have Ha-Oh Shurikenjin!
Image
I'm really glad to finally have this guy. Now that I have all the main mecha that I want from Ninninger I might pick up a few of the auxiliary mecha (looking at you Surfermaru) and some of the role playing toys. Though Dino Charge stuff might come first if I see it around.
Shhhhhhh... I was never here. You never got anything from me.

Is this thread completely ignored, or did no one got anything new this week?

Anyway, I'm still into building blocks.

There was a limited promo at TrU. "Buy for 25$CAN of Lego (before taxes) and get a free mini First Order Star Destroyer mini (5$CAN value) for free."
So, I bought my first ever TECHNIC Lego set, the Getaway Racer. Because it trolled me at 24.99$CAN, I bought something that I very rarely buy, a blindbag minifig. Got the spy. Expensive at 4$CAN but heh.

Image

I'm looking forward to see if I'll love building Technics stuff.

I didn't get anything noteworthy because I like spacing out my purchases, still holding out on the Plesio Charge Megazord until I get the rest of the Charger packs. Speaking of which:

Power Rangers Dino Charger Power Pack 2 Parasaurolophus + 11 Deinosuchus (Fossil)

Found him at Ross, like the Triceratops before him, confirming my suspicions of them getting last year's overstock (I just saw the TRU RiD 5-Step Megatronus there as well). Only the 15 Allosaurus/Allomerus and 19 Tapejara/Tuperanda to go, and maybe the Stego, Raptor, Pteranodon, Pachy, Plesio and Brachio ones as well.

One thing though: my local Ross is notorious for damaged/opened packaging and above all, loss/theft of parts. I saw the translucent version of the Parasaurolophus pack there, with the main Charger missing!

Getaway Racer is my first ever Technic set and I just finished building it. Well, it was simple enough so I can guess it's perfect for an entry level into Technics. I thought this would look ugly but man, this thing is COOL! Also, that spring loaded motor is not to be triffle with. It's powerful. It fly away hard and FAST. I was releived and impressed to see the car unscathed after hitting the wall hard. But, a word of advice. CLEAN UP YOUR FLOORS FIRST before playing. Because those tires are a hair and dust magnet and things get disgusting fast. TlDr; love it, recommended.

Still on my Lego trip, I finally got myself something that I've been eyeing for months. The Lego Ideas #6 Ghostbusters. To go with it, I took the Lego Dimention fun pack Ghostbusters with Slimer and the slime shooter. That fun pack was on sale at 50% off. I would never had payed 15$ for it. And I dont have nor care about the video game.

Finally, I made myself a trio of minifigs. It's 15pcs for 15$. Expensive as fok but I needed another ghost, myself, and a Lego waifu.

A better look at the custom (and expensive) minifigs:

He's pretty cool! The plastic feels nice, (even if the wolf and bear were a bit greasy when I opened it) and the die-cast is in good spots. All the individual zords have almost as much articulation as the miniatures used in Kakuranger/MMPRs3, even the Ape who is real only missing knees. Combined it feels really solid but is still the classic brick, the only trouble I've had is sometimes the bear legs want to move while moving the arms, which is fun to do if you have the Falconzord/Tsubasamaru cause they made it to where you can tilt the head up for flying poses. Do I feel it's worth $100? Eh, it's more reasonable than the $200 that the Thunder Megazord was going for (which I got down to $140 thanks to a sale and coupon) but if you have one of those 20% off coupons that Toys R Us sends out every so often I'd say go ahead and pick him up if you like the Megazord.

Yeah, I'm kinda iffy on the Thunder Megazord aka Dairen'oh. The Red Dragon/Ryuseioh and Firebird/Sei Ho'oh look... "dangerous", you know what I mean? For that matter, the White Tiger/Won Tiger cheats by having to remove the legs for any combination, plus no Tor/Daimugen? I think I'll go vintage on them, my wife should still have them in storage... somewhere. All we found so far is a Power Crystal, so...
Any Zord Builder ports on the Legacy Ninja Megazord that may prove troublesome? Or are they limited to the arms?

Personally, I can't wait to see if they continue the Legacy line with Zeo. I love that Megazord! :x

I wish I still had all my megazords but my mom sold them like 10 years ago [-( . And I can see what you're talking about on the Dragonzord and Firebird. Some of them clips are tiny. I didn't pick up the White Tigerzord and I kind of regret it now, though them not putting out Tor doesn't really upset me that much, I mean you just shove the Tigerzord inside him for the combination!

As far as I can tell the only Zord builder ports are the arms. I thought the frog legs might be but they didn't seem like they could come off. Everything else is proprietary C-clip ports. The only connection problems I've had is with the Falconzord, it doesn't always want to sit on the back straight.

I'm not a huge fan of the Zeo megazords but I do hope the continue it past MMPR. I'm sure we'll get the Astro Megazord and I'd like to see it skip around to more popular megazords over all the series.

Nothing good to find on the Transformers side, I'll just go check out the baby section again. And look at that, a strange UFO:
Super Wing Dizzy. "Deluxe" size. Almost literally. Because she's the same price and size as a deluxe figure.
Also, a Funko Pop DJ-Pon3 for my Vinyl Scratch shrine. Those damn Pop are everywhere, like plague rats. I generally hate the design but she was cheap and kinda missing for my shrine.

Image

Dizzy is surprisingly good. She's cute and have a fair ammount of articulations. Her transformation is more complex than a Rescue Bot! She earned her place in my fembot collection:

And here's my DJ-Pon3 shrine, now with 100% more Pop:

Oh, I've been looking for a topic like this. I haven't bought a lot of non-Transformers lately, but I did recently get figma Heiwajima Shizuo from Durarara!!x2 and I have figma Caster EXTRA from Fate/EXTRA coming in the mail. I always tell myself I'm going to quit collecting figma, but then something cool comes out, plus I'm committed to buying all of the Fate figma (I'm only missing three, I even have the bike).

Just for fun, here's my non-Transformers current pre-order list:

November
-figma Yuuki from Sword Art Online (Wonder Festival 2016 Summer online exclusive)
-figma Orihara Izaya from Durarara!!x2

December
-figma Samus Aran from Metroid: Other M

January
-figma Saitama from One Punch Man

February
-S.H. Figuarts Tendo Akane from Ranma 1/2 (Tamashii Nations exclusive)
-figma Leafa from Sword Art Online
-Super Mini-Pla GaoGaiGar (candy toy)

April
-figma Celty Sturluson from Durarara!!x2
-figma Protagonist from Persona 3

May
-figma Link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-figma Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-figma Midoriya Izuku from My Hero Acadamia
-figma Shielder from Fate/Grand Order

Hope there aren't any good Transformers releases in May...

Cutting back on figma, yeah, sure.

A few questions, the ptera dino charge megazord formation where you use ptera as a backpack makes him super back heavy and he wont stay up, am I doing something wrong?

Also, what is thie peice for in robot mode?

Photobucket is down for maintenance so I can't tell what part you are talking about. The Ptera only come with 5 parts that come unnatached to the bot. The charger (duh) two canon/guns, the gun holder, and the pterodactyl head. Out of the box, you have to attach the guns on the gun mount and put the whole assembly on the bot's shoulders. As for the dino head, you plug it on the bot's butt, or you use it as a chest plate. The ptero head MUST be used as a chest plate for the official look. The spare black chestplate, there's nowhere to put it unfortunately.

As for your combined mode problem with the Rex, you must plug the tail that is open in V on the back of the pterodactyl's paws for look, but more importantly, for support. Only the tail that come with the Red or Green Rex will work.

YES! Thats the part I was talking about. I didnt know what the purpose of that "tail" was in robot mode since it just sits on his back. But now I get it, it adds support for the Ptera formation. Will try it tonight ;)^

Also, I realized these are way more for kids than regaular TFs are, and the age range shows that. So my little girl will probably atart playing with these before moving on to TFs. And they are animals, which kids love, its a winning formula.

Also, just curious but is the Plesiozord actually supposed to be a robotic dinosaur or just a space ship with a dino head at the front?

I didn't get anything noteworthy because I like spacing out my purchases, still holding out on the Plesio Charge Megazord until I get the rest of the Charger packs. Speaking of which:

Power Rangers Dino Charger Power Pack 2 Parasaurolophus + 11 Deinosuchus (Fossil)

So you didnt get the Plesio Charge Megazord yet? Why are you placing priority on the charger packs? Also, what are those power packs for? Like where do they come in within this brand's ecosystem?

I havent ever seen those coupons in Canada, that would be really nice. And I am surprised there was a sale for that Thunderzord. While TRU Canada routinely has sales for power rangers and TFs, I have never ever seen them do a sale on the Legacy stuff. They dont go on clearance either. They either get sold out or dissapear in time.
