So far all of the 80's G1 Transformers voice actors and actresses I've met, are still around, thank goodness, but there are some deceased ones I would have loved to have met, and ones that I regret not getting a chance to meet because apparently they attended Cons around the time I myself started attending Conventions, because I barely started attending Conventions in 2010, so it hurts me on the ones I could have met. It still hurts and disappoints me I never got to meet the late Dick Gautier, Buster Jones, these are the ones I feel I most likely had opportunity to meet, but sadly didn't.

There are others I would have loved to have met that are deceased as well but I don't recall them doing Conventions that much, John Stephenson, I believe BotCon 2001 was his only ever Convention appearance, and 2001, I was not familiar at all with conventions yet.

So those here who got to meet G1 TF voice actors before they passed away, which ones did you meet and which convention or event did you meet them at?

I met Wally Burr. I spoke with him at the Quest Bar during TFcon the year he attended. We spoke of chris latta and Thundercracker (honestly I forget TC's VA's' name) and he was telling me about how unwell Thunder's va was at the time. So when I went through my DVD set I had him sign, this summer, I was really sort of sad.

Thundercracker's voice actor was John Stephenson, he also did the voice of the Autobots Huffer, Windcharger, and Kup in seasons 3 and 4(meanwhile Lionel Stander did his voice in the 1986 animated movie). He also did the voice of Alpha Trion, the elderly version of Alpha Trion, but ya BotCon 2001 was his only Convention appearance, those who got to meet him are a very rare breed of very lucky fans. Outside of Transformers, he was known for doing a lot of voice-work for Hanna-Barbara, he was the original voice of Mr. Slate from The Flintstones, Fred's Boss, at the time of his death in 2015, he was the last surviving voice actor from The Flintstones.

Apparently he was pretty private even though he only made 1 convention appearance, this is what was said about him according to Wikipedia and IMDB: Stephenson never gave any interviews and was rarely seen in public, although he did make an appearance at BotCon 2001.

Ever since i started attending Conventions in 2010, I have mainly only done local conventions, within my state, area, but it hurts me knowing I could have met Buster Jones and Dick Gautier if I had considered earlier going to out of state conventions, I barely went to my first out of state convention earlier this year, back in the Spring, only out of state Con I've done so far, because Buster Jones was at BotCon 2012 in Texas and Slagacon in Florida either in 2013 or 2014 but many months before his passing, and Dick Gautier was at TFCon in Toronote in 2013.

even though he has been gone for more than 20 years now, I heard that the late Chris Latta did attend some Star Trek Conventions.

who here got to meet Dick Gautier, Buster Jones, before they sadly passed away? or John Stephenson?
