Considering it's you, I'm betting this is a reference to the GI Joe vs Transformers comic.

On the other hand, since it's you, it could just be because you like fun

I wonder... can G1 Trypticon do the "extra mode" shown in the Legends manga? Or would that be murder for the motor gimmick?
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Legs are fine after bouncing on the springs for a while. If anything I over did it, because I couldn't feel a difference until I reassembled him.
- Chest door is not tight, but does not hang open. Clearly NOT warped. Full-Tilt's attachment is likewise fine.
- Tail ramp is completely loose with no tabs or friction - it goes wherever gravity takes it.

My big problem, though is the tail itself. I think I must have done something wrong to it. It now takes an incredible amount of force to move out of ship-position, and is completely loose (cannot hold itself up) when it's not in ship position. I feel I must have irreparably damaged it, but for the life of me, I cannot find any sort of button release I was supposed to be using to unlock it.

I too received my Trypticon from HTS. Batch number 71351.

- Legs were fine, however, I did the spring fix anyway.

- Tail ramp is just fine. Holds in place.

- Chest door refused to lock in place. I was able to tighten a screw on the body which helped. I also close it one side at a time. Stays put, doesn't hang.

- Tail was very droopy after the first movement. One click was all it took for it to sag. I went ahead and did the tail fix ( http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/titans-return-trypticon-tail-fix.1120326/ ), which improves the movement and holds it in place regardless of positioning. Lost much of the scary ratchet click though. Unfortunately, I lost two of the screws from the main body in the process.

Due to my limited knowledge regarding hardware (see losing screws above), does anyone know what kind of screws were used on Trypticon's main body? I'm very certain I won't find those small screws, so I will have to buy replacements. Any help would be most appreciated.

Do you know if any of the other screws you did not lose were of the same size? If so, I'd take one of them to the hardware store and see if you can match it up.

I believe the other 3 I pulled were the same size. I may just do that. Thanks!

Has anyone yet found a fix for the floppy tail ramp that doesn't entail buying a whole new Trypticon figure?

That's for the whole tail, not the ramp on the tail.

Well I got mine today and it's probably the biggest disappointment I've ever had in my 30+ years of collecting. Other than the hip ratchets being too strong mine has every other problem it can possibly have. The chest panel is so warped that it doesn't even shut, the tail joint is useless, and one of the hips is always angled outward so everything is lopsided in city and spaceship mode. The only thing that can save this pile of trash is if a third party company makes an upgrade kit that replaces like 45% of it's parts.

D'oh! For that, look and see if there is a screw close to the hinge for the ramp. I'm guessing there may be one on each side. I'd try tightening those a little bit and if that changes anything.

So has the "revised" Trypticon Hasbro was talking about been released yet? If so, that sucks because I'm still hearing about catastrophic breakage issues. If not I'll wait for it to be released before I get him. A shame as he looks like a spectacular figure but for the price I'll probably have to pay for him, I wanna make sure he doesn't self destruct.

Still, if he does get fixed and he's still available once certain home situations are resolved, I'm buying the hell outta him. He's probably the first Titan that I can safely say looks fantastic (QC errors aside) and that I actually want.

I wish they would have made a Titan Master class Trypticon out of Crashbash/Clobber. Please imagine that. We get a Trypticon at the biggest size class and a tiny baby one at the smallest size class. It would have been amazing.

Aaaaand I just saw this and that's amazing. I'm almost tempted to customize my Crashbash into that. Almost. I still need to decide if I'm going to do him up in new colours or just do him in a more detailed/shiny version of his normal colours (except not a complete mess this time now that I have my airbrush set up).

Mine is definitely a "fixed" version, the ratchet is just right.

Interesting. Maybe there is hope for Big T yet.

Oh well, by the time I'm able to buy a Trypticon they should have ironed all the problems out. Well, in theory.

Sooooo.... apparently there is NO DIFFERENCE between Hasbro and Takara's Trypticon....

http://www.bigangrytrev.com/lg43-trypticon-vs-titans-return-trypticon/

When I wrote the comparison blog between Takra Tomys Unite Warriors Computron and Hasbro’s Combiner Wars Computron it took me about two days to take all the pictures, write up all the subtle differences and overall decide which set was better.

With Legends Trypticon and Titans Return Trypticon? I should be done by the end of the commercial break.

Here are the sticker sheets. The stickers are exactly the same, though I suppose the size of the sheet they come on is different, I guess.
Kinda like getting the exact same meal but on two different types of plate.

The way the Legends version and the Titans Return version have been strapped in their boxes is different in layout I suppose.

Now to Trypticon himself, the differences are…. they are…. um….
‘One of these Cons is not like the other one…. oh wait’

The differences are non-existent!

That’s right kiddies – there is absolutely no difference between the two versions – none! All the things you may have previously been lead to believe, such as the teal was darker and the purple richer in the Legends version are not correct. That the paint apps are built in and you don’t have to apply stickers like the Hasbro version – false. The only way I could keep the two from getting mixed up when taking photographs was that I had already applied some of the stickers to the Titans Return version. The same goes for their smaller partners.
Full-Tilt vs Full-Tilt. No difference

In the end I didn’t even bother transforming the Legends version. I packed it straight back in its box and am going to carefully store it for a decade so hopefully I can in the future sell it (and make back the extra $80 I paid getting it shipped from Japan) as relatively MIB. In a day and age where toy producers are conscious that some collectors will shell out big money for multiple versions of an expensive toy for even the slightest difference, I was honestly surprised there was none here. Not even an extra gun like Metroplex or a new hat like Malibu Stacy!

Is one worth getting over the other? Nope. The only thing is that some of the Titans Return versions have the dodgy hips (for an excellent way to fix that see HERE) whereas none of the LG43 versions have had that problem reported as yet. So if the fact you don’t have to worry about this possible defect is worth the extra costs of shipping to you then grab that one. Otherwise, unless you are rolling in cash and want to have both types of box to display, go down to your local toy store and grab the Hasbro one.

Got something to add? Would love to read it in the comments section below!

Sorry about that. But there are a few things you win on:

1. Not having to worry about QC
2. Not having o worry about finding it in stores
2. Awesome box (though to be honest, I dnt find the hasbro one too shabby either)

Yo can always check within our extnsive show galleries. However, its the same thing, painted prototypes are just that. No final image of trypticon ever had those painted.
