I recently won a bid on a Galactic Man/Shackwave on E-Bay. As I sit here waiting for it to arrive, I'm wondering if I should repaint it in purple and make it into Shockwave. I know Shackwave does command some respect among collectors, but my only reason for getting it is the fact that it was by far cheaper than the selection of Shockwaves at the time. So I am looking to you guys (and gals ) for your opinions. Do you think I should repaint it? Would you repaint it? Keep in mind that Shackwave was purchased to supplement a G1 Shockwave not compliment it. If I had Shockwave I wouldn't even be considering repainting Shackwave.

I wouldn't repaint it because it has its collection value. If you really want a G1 Shockwave, there's a lot of them floating on eBay that are in pretty good condition. That's my take.

I would say wait until you get Shackwave to see how you like its colour in person. Also, if you do eventually get a Shockwave, it would be a shame to not have Shackwave in its original colours.

Well it came in the mail yesterday, and after a careful inspection I decided NOT to repaint it. This Shackwave is about as perfect as you can get. Outside a loose knee joint it's in great shape. No peeling on the stickers, no discoloration, and the wire isn't even cracked.

Thanks. I'm gonna pick up some batteries for my camera today and hopefully by tomorrow I'll have some pics to post and possibly a quick review on YouTube.
