as for canada airing Prime, in the end we were sharing the same weekend schedual as america. so i wouldnt be surprised if tomorrow's episode is our premiere.
That's an odd thing to say since the cartoon continued until 1988, the toyline ran till 1990, and the comic even outlived the toyline by finishing in 1991.Bouncy X wrote:its sorta ironic that the movie is now considered some cult classic and transformers jewel when its what killed the franchise in the 80s. lol

Any other changes? Sounds like the UK version to me.Seibertron wrote:Can anyone confirm which version of the 1986 film is showing right now on the Hub? It has the extra opening voice over intro narration from Victor Caroli that I believe is from the UK version of the film. It's widescreen. Spike doesn't say "oh ****!".

Though, it used the DEG logo at the beginning, which was from one of the American versions. Guess we'll have to wait and see once it's over.
I considered that myself, yeah. If it is, I wonder if A) It was all done to remove the swearing, and B) If this Hub version will get a commercial release.Seibertron wrote:I wonder if it's some new hodge-podged version that splices together a few different versions of the film.
Here's some info regarding some different English-language versions of it.Seibertron wrote:I'm not familiar with other televised versions of the film, just the almost dozen versions I have on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray (thank you Madman in Australia).
Oh, dude, so would I! I've seen some bits and pieces of clips from it (unsubtitled, though), and from what I can tell, the Japanese version of the movie has a very dramatic performance of the dialogue by the voice actors, and even has some new bits of dialogue created for that version (such as the Lithonians screaming in horror as Unicron destroys their planet, and the Decpeticons all yelling in pain as they get blasted by Optimus during his epic entrance into Autobot City before engagin Megatron).Seibertron wrote:I would love to own an official version of the animated film from Japan.
