I preffer the armada version since you can recreate the shoulder pylons, and the minicon ports make more sense than the original (along with him being a tank).
And Maximo, i was able to sell Leader megs loose for as much as I paid for him new, so no regrets. Unlike MPM Prime, who I am still trying to sell new in box at cheaper than I paid for with no one biting. Now that's a toy I regret spending some dough on.

I'm stilly really shocked the MPM market crashed out from under it... most almost going for 50% under retail. I still think that Prime is really good (if a nightmare to transform)
On topic: I think i hold TR Megs as my favorite voyager so far, with Siege rigth behind it. I agree with everyone that the Combiner Wars leader Megs was a definite Meh-gatron... I think if it wasn't for the timing and silver paint... I wouldn't have gotten him either. He does look decent with that Evolutions Prime for "Budget MPs". Glad they knocked that off for the most part.
Kind of surprised the... Alternity Megatron didn't get a nod. Especially the Silver colored one.

After all, he's a version of G1 Megatron and I think he's easily better than RTS Megatron. He has a ton of new parts to him and his moldmate is Galvatron - a version of G1 Megatron. Granted the toy could come out and really suck .. I mean it's doubtful, but could happen.
Gauntlet101010 wrote:The Alternity line is such a wasted opportunity. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I never wanted a car version of Megatron, Prime, the Seekers or any of the other characters they chose ... I only ever considered BB and Cliff, but the look of the chest just wasn't doing it for me.
Even if it's silver and the best toy in the world, I'm not sure a Megatron that turns into a car counts as "G1 styled".

I think he should count, we'll see what he's like when he arrives

Personally, I wouldn't put any Megatron on this list that doesn't have a gun as an alt mode, because that is not the original Megatron. Super Megatron gets a pass because that's actually how he was in the Return of Convoy Manga.
I mean Netflix Siege Megatron is a great toy, I have it. But I don't consider it "G1 Stylized"

ZeroWolf wrote:Such a list will only have 4 toys to be faira gun never made sense anyway to me, as far as Alt Modes go. Also I think Hasbro wants everyone to think that this is G1 Megs now, a tank.

It seems to me that the main reason people were excited about it is because it was so unlikely a toy to begin with. It's great that everyone can like different things, but I can't even conceptualize looking at those alt modes and weird kibble everywhere and saying, yes, this is one of the great Megatron toys, this rules.
To be clear, I'm happy for you if you love this toy, but I just don't get it. Like, at all.

Still, looks like Will took robot mode into account as well, hence Siege/Earthrise Megs as they do nail the character model.

Aside from being a hold over from the Microman line, I thought the gun altmode choice was quite symbolic of Megatron's characterisation and beliefs. The whole "peace through tyranny" [of a gun].AcademyofDrX wrote:Am I the only person who thinks that Super Megatron looks like literal garbage? Same. I thought the figure would have been better served as a brand new character with a different head sculpt. Instead of being wasted as a reference to an obscure, offscreen Megatron.

That's fair. My post was also very tongue in cheek, especially since it's a ratchet toy afterall.
Personally, what comes to mind when I think of Megatron is a purple dinosaur, so to each's own.
@Zerowolf, all I did really was just go through all the Megatron toys labelled as "G1" in TFwiki.
AcademyofDrX wrote:Like I said, "It seems to me that the main reason people were excited about it is because it was so unlikely a toy to begin with." That's kind of silly to me, but I got Origins Bumblebee and the non-transforming guys in the Quintesson Pit set over the last couple years, so it's not like I can judge.
