There's a few molds that got made into seekers, but not Starscream, like SS TC. Other options include Machine Wars TC, Botcon 2013 TC (homage to MW TC), Cybertron TC. I think that's about it.

You missed the best TC of all, Action Master TC.

Technically Action Master TC is a repaint of Starscream, even if his accessory is different.

But yes, if you can handle those colors, then he's absolutely fantastic.

Your right he is still a redeco at his core. And regards to the colors, I think that's the best part.

I'm afraid I don't agree with this list. Though I like the character, I don't like Prime Starscream's robot design.

I do like the Cybertron Starscream mold, having gotten the burgundy version which I repurpose as Thrust to go with Classics Dirge. I wish the mold had been used for Ramjet and Sunstorm rather than the legend figure. I wouldn't mind seeing it repainted as G2 Jhiaxus.

I don't like the Earthrise mold. I traded it a couple of week's after I got it mainly because the jet mode is too small for my taste. I much prefer the Siege Seeker mold which manages better articulation and light piping.

My own top Starscream figures would be:

5. G1
4. Combiner Wars Leader
3. Cybertron Voyager
2. Armada
1. Siege

Honourable mention:

Actionmaster Starscream. I really like his colour scheme and he makes a nice replacement for the inner robot of Pretender Starscream since he can fit inside the shell.

I'm surprised FOC Starscream wasn't an honorable mention. For a while I remember people really loving the mold and I still do, though my favorite is actually Thundercracker. For a long time we thought that would be the closest we would ever get to the Tetrajets. It has some flaws, but I still like them. I like the bot mode better than the Bayverse robot modes.

That figure just doesn't do it for me. Too small, too simple, exposed head, cheap feeling plastic, lackluster deco. Many are issues shared with other FOC toys really, that was a pretty dark time in the history of the brand's offerings, I am glad we have moved on from it. That mold does much better as Skywarp though and it did appear on that Seeker's top 5 list. After I published this starscream list, I actually wrote a list for all 5 other main seekers and it's fun how different molds work better for different toys. None of the lists are the same, they each have a different variety of molds that I found worked better for that particular seeker and even at least 1 mold (or TF era) that is unique to each list (like how we have Dirge in ROTF, Thrust in Armada, Ramjet in G2). I look forward to sharing those lists with you all so we can continue our discussion as the year progresses.

I can't wait to see the lists, especially Thundercracker. He's my favorite Seeker.

An idea that I think would really have a lot of discussion is a "My favorite representative of the name _________." It could be 2 lists, one for 10 Decepticons and one for 10 Autobots. Take it from a point of view of "a crew for the Nemesis and a crew for the Ark." The 10 bots from each side (in no particular order) you feel would best represent each faction. The ones that come to mind when you say "Autobots, roll out" or "Decepticons, attack!" Then once you have your 10 names for each side, you pick from the vast multiverse of the franchise (Cartoons, movies, comics, books, video games, toy bios, etc) which version gets to represent that name on the Ark/Nemesis. The reason for your choices can range from "my nostalgia" to "vast consensus among fans as the best version" to "just my favorite." I'm sure there will be many names that make multiple peoples' lists, but I highly doubt the versions of those names would be the same on many lists.

Maybe you could even cheat on a few like say "spot 6 goes to Soundwave from IDW. But he is a package deal with 4 minions, so coming along on the 6th spot in his chest are Ravage from BW, Laserbeak from Marvel comics, and G1 cartoon Rumble and Frenzy." Maybe you pick one spot for each faction as a Combiner team. "The Combiner team for the Autobots goes to the Technobots. I'll take the G1 team, but when they combine, I'm using the Shattered Glass Computron because I like the colors better." Or maybe you say, if I pick Soundwave it's only him and he didn't come with the minions, or maybe you don't get to choose the minions individually and the Soundwave you choose brings his minions with him. Could be really fun to see I think.

That sounds fun, it could be its own article. Though I might be boring and simply go Siege/Earthrise since I truly think these are the best versions of most of these characters.

I wanted to write a bit more about Stasrcream for now. I have the Hasbro release of the Cybertron voyager mold and I always though its burgundy colour was an homage to Thrust. However, looking at the Starscream releases in the Unicron Trilogy there is this common theme of releasing Stasrcream molds in the same burgundy/black colour scheme introduced in Energon.

I know you must have at least a zillion lists in the oven, but here's a new one for you (unless that list already exist and I forgot it.):

Top 5 redeco/repaints that look way better than the "horrible" original.

Often, there's that toy that just dosen't do anything for you, but in the right colors it become the best thing ever. My latest example is Siege Optimus Prime VS Netflix Spoiler Nemesis Prime. I found that "cybertronian" mode for Optimus simply repulsive, but in Nemesis colors, it's just so perfect.

And there's many more like this on my own personal list.

I find most of black repaint does a good job on making the mold looks more appealing than the original color.

The main feedback regarding this list (more from outside this forum) was that it included Bayverse Starscream. But I found a recent top 10 list of Starscream toys and the exclusion of Bayverse toys is really felt. It's not even a G1 Strscream list, since they do have Alligned Starscream there. The Animated Stasrcream mold is one of the only blemishes to that phenomenal line and the Cyberbattalion toy is a simple toy for young kids who aren't advanced enough to own more complex (or pricier) CHUG Starscream toys. And both those toys are on this list! Are we really saying here that those two toys are better than the Movie verse Leader Starscream toy? It ends up looking real silly.

I would really like to know how Prime starscream made it in there, considering he might actually be more closely related to movie Starscream and outside of including his RiD2015 and FOC, he didn't even have a remotely "G1" body in Prime or ancillary media.

I'd agree with you Will, excluding Bayverse Starscream is a bit silly, as regardless of your views on the movies, there were some awesome toys from them.

Speaking of Animated Starscream I really wish that mold was better. I love how it looks (kinda reminds me of a cross between one of the later Macross Valkyries and Dangaioh) but IIRC it's a fiddly mess that is no fun at all to pose, transform or really do much with.

It's so disappointing with him because he was fun in the show and the style of the show body was fantastic. But the toy is one of the few that can't pull it off in plastic form. It's why so far I only have Screamer in that mold, despite wanting a couple more

Yeah Prime was very much a response to the movie verse with Optimus being a long nose truck, BB being a camaro like car, Megatron becoming a cybertronian jet and Starsrscream having Movie-Verse Starscream's face become the motif for his chest.

But that list even omits anything from the unicron trilogy and still gives room for Cyberbattalion which is all kinds of wrong.

FE Prime Starscream looks great. I'm not a big fan of Prime but that mold looks really, really cool. I've been tempted by Arms Micron Skywarp on occasion, honestly.

I also agree that including Bayverse Starscream is a must. Because Bay-haters or not, the Bay movies are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to Transformers. The movies introdused new bold designs and it grought back old fans (like me) and most importantly, at least 2 generations of new fans with whose gateway to Transformers were the movies.

---------------

As for Animated Starscream, the voyager toy is hot garbage IMO. Too many parts that pop off all over the place with an annoying transformation because of that. I sold that crap without regrets.

But like for Bumblebee, the ACTIVATOR Animated Starscream is a much better toy than the voyager, scale be damned. It's fun, easy, and look amazing in both modes. He stand proudly in my Starscream shrine.

Meh, the list says Starscream- not G1-ish Starscream, or Starscreams that aren't Bayverse, or most realistic alt-mode Starscreams... I personally don't like robot mode Bayverse Starscream, so he doesn't make my list on favorite Starscreams, but this is about best toys named Starscream according to your opinion (gasp, it's biased towards your preferences? Oh the humanity). Everyone is always welcome to disagree and make their own list. You start the discussion and then we add to it. It's simple enough.

Don't see how he could be when they aren't even the same character in the movie that they both appear in.

Don't see how he could be when they aren't even the same character in the movie that they both appear in.

Transformers Studio Series SS-72 Starscream Compare with SS-65 Blitzwing (12)__scaled_600.jpg

He's supposed to be a dorito with a long head.Is it a way to admit that it's a reboot?Or they still haven't admitted it?I'm not really interested.

It's that simple."
Weapon: Vibro-Axe
Well, how about a top 5 that ---> I <--- love, but "no one" does?

5: Beast Hunters deluxe Starscream. Weird style and he just don't give a F.

4: Machine Wars. He's big. He's a brick. He don't look anything close to a "Starscream" yet it's awesome.

3: Pretender Starscream. The bot is crap, but the jet is decent and that human shell is pretty silly and bad-ass at the same time.

2: Classic deluxe mold. Appart the huge null-rays, it seems to have been completely forgotten due to the stellar ER voyager. But this was THE Starscream for over 15 years for a reason.

1: Movie voyager 2007 Starscream. Not screen accurate, huge arms missiles that shoot at the slightest breeze, but a lot of fun. Especially the "G1" colored version with that goblin head.

Also, an update to my old ALL HELICOPER VICTORION!
