Yeah, Universe Drift/Blurr are definitely towards the top of this list for me. I would probably replace Vector Prime on the list with the two of them together. You're only integrating one rather visible sword into VP, but you're hiding three swords or three guns completely on Drift and Blurr. Not only are they well hidden in car mode, the're also stored away properly in bot mode without just hanging off an arm or leg. Heck, you don't even have to remove the weapons from storage to transform into either mode! Plus their large sword and gun are massive, almost car length, and don't need to be folded in half to store away. They definitely pull it off much, much better than Arcee does.

Yup. The gun can peg onto the top of Roller, and the fists have two spots they can peg into on either side of the command tower IIRC. That's perfect storage.

Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

You can tell what era Billy-Jim was raised in considering his on-going favouritism of Beast Wars figures.
No G1 figures will make the list.
ooooo what's that tingly feeling? It's the feeling of proving someone wrong ...
Say hello to the Skyscorchers, Axelerators (transitional) and to an extent, Triggercons and Triggerbots.

Not only does the kibble make for cool looking samurai armor, the hip skirts double as sheaths/holsters. Brilliant!

Always liked TFP Wheeljack's storage.

All his blades can store on his back in bot mode in various configurations.shajaki wrote:AOE Drift... I don't even really recall that

Realy, no mention of this guy?Burn wrote:Some G1 Stuff

I'd like to add a little something to the Gen Arcee argument. While one gun just pegs to the under carriage the other integrates into the transformation and adds stability the swords have nowhere "good" to go... in alt mode. For the most part I don't mind backpacks, but if you give me one, I'm going to try and shove something into it.
Quite a few car bots have places where you can peg their gun to underside of the alt mode (WfC Bumblee), but I feel like we are talking about best/most clever. How about this guy

Not only is it a compartment just for weapon storage but it could be interpreted as a homage to the G1's weapons becoming the battery and the tape deck

Probably should also mention Generations Wheeljack.

Now we're talking weapon storage not integration right? That could be it's own list

I think this could have been a top 10 with or without integration. I do hope we'll see a list of best weapon integration in the future as RotF Skystalker and a number of other figures have brilliant integrations as mentioned in this thread.
As for Generations Thrilling 30 Arcee, since she is clearly a G1 homage I consider the swords to be bonus weapons, not primary weapons. Thus it doesn't bother me that they don't hide away in alt mode since she did not have them in G1. Including the swords instead of the guns in the SDCC Combiner Hunters 3 pack is actually the reason I got the regular releases of those characters instead of the very cool but pricey redecoes. With the upcoming release of Titans Return Windblade and presumably Arcee I am starting to regret that decision, but hindsight is what it is.

Was looking around my room at the few TFs I have displayed right now... and how can I forget Classics Prime?!
His guns become the smokestacks and windvane of his truck mode. And they have enough transformation to be very convincing in both modes!

I can't believe I forgot that one too. I like to flip and tab in the rifle/smokestacks upside down to make a jet pack for robot mode. Hasbro still hasn't topped Classics Optimus Prime and I'm starting to think they never will.

I personally find myself preferring TR Laser Prime since I got him a couple days ago. At the same time they kinda go for different things -- Classics Optimus remains my 'standard' Optimus, while Laser is him when he's ****ing pissed

Though talking of which, man Laser had bad weapon storage. He only comes with one gun and there's only ports on the side of the truck rather than in the middle so any symmetry is destroyed, and the sword just looks awkward outside of Robot mode no matter what you do with it.

Can't say I really agree either. Scourge and Primal are really good ones though. I think if someone wanted to pick their favorite line they could easily pick a top five examples that would be just as good as someone else's.
RID Drift is as good at storage as the other Drifts and Wheeljack. RTS Laser Prime has a nice bit of transformable altmode integration with his sword. RTS Wreck Gar stores his axe-saw seamlessly. Animated Prowl, Jazz, and Oil Slick all hide the weapons in plain sight but you couldn't tell they were there. AoE Scorn's sword slides right into his tail. TLK Barricade has two of his three weapons hidden in altmode and they can be left there through transformation to robot mode where they are already in place. Heck you could shove the Gatling gun into the cavity in vehicle mode. RotF Brawn's pistols stay in his hands through transformation and his shoulder cannon ends up on the roof of the armored car.
And I just got those by looking at my shelves for a bit.

I see a lot of talk about weapon integration over weapon storage. Thats cool, it gives me an idea for a list about that. And we can all keep talking about that, I just hope people understand that the reason those toys aren't there is because I was really looking at storage. And fun storage, original stuff. That Arcee's swords might not store properly, but I just loved the way they integrated the storage of that smaller gun, making it part of the finalized transformation for the hands to clip together and not hang loose. Plus, I love the asymmetry of the other gun's integration. To me, that is much more inventive and fun than just dumping all the extra accessories in Prime's G1 trailer. But that's my opinion.

Whilst he's perhaps not the greatest toy ever created, TLK Barricade's weapon storage is pretty neat, with the weapons able to stay attached through transformation and the truncheon and pistol ending up on his hips. The shotgun mandala can even (sort of) squeeze under the roof in car mode if you're careful!
Energon Cruellock and Divebomb both work pretty well. Divebomb's shuriken can form slashing fins in bird mode, and Cruellock's tail weapon storage is ingenious.
And of course, there's the entire Alternators/Binaltech line, with the rather clever way the weapons formed fairly realistic engine bits.

Looking forward to the weapons integration list. I have a few transformers with brilliant weapons integration (Classics OP, RotF Skystalker to name two) and I know there are a lot more (like Generations Deluxe Class Megatron/Dreadwing). If you are looking for parameters I think you should include the figures who not only integrate the weapons into their alt modes but whose weapons still look like weapons when handheld (so I would not include RotF Mindwipe because while the integrations is cool the cockpit doesn't frighten me as daggers). Good luck!

NEST Bludgeon is the best of what I've seen mentioned. Not only the long sword stored/dual purposed as the cannon, the opening turret to get the other one is easy to use but super fun to play with, then on top of that he's got places to hang them on his hips in robit mode. One of the coolest bayverse molds I've ever had.
Interpreted as? If that's not a homage there's no such thing.
BTW g1 Soundwave definitely belongs in this list, now that you've brought him up. Definitely before most of the other g1's (Megatron, are you kidding me, that's just kibble the marvel/sunbow writers just found a happy coincidence to repurpose as a weapon, the toy's REAL weapon is that weird chrome thing. No hiding/storing that in gun mode
