Just got this guy in the mail.....I think he is awesome! Scales real nice with Hegemon, better in hand vs. photos.

Only think that is missing is some silver stripes somewhere...hopefully Reproblables can remedy that!

Yeah, that might be one of the reasons it's not appealing to me. Maybe some silver stripes. A window decal or two on the sides. Image

ok, one more wish for him- I wish he had come with a cool energon axe-looks like I'm going to need to go the corbot v route to arm him up. and unfotunately, the Dr Wu star saber is not a good fit due to thick fingers

This looks like it was well made. With Hasbro creating Dozens of Optimus new molds per year I just think it's silly spending 3rd party money on this. I have Three MP Optimus toys in various sizes,The 20th version, the 2012 version & The Igear faith leader. It made sense to do a 3rd party gun Megatron toy because the Nerf gun Classics toy & the MP Megatron toys were horrible toys.

I'll tell you, that may be the image that broke me. I really, really want to pick up that Generations Springer, but I couldn't stand the idea of having him taller than Optimus (i.e. Classics Optimus). But then again I don't have Hegemon, and Orion would be too big compared to Classics Megatron. :???:

I'm struggling to like Orion. I'm impressed with how the front wheels fold away and the legs transform, but that arm transformation is a mess even compared to the Classics figure. The split windscreen looks good in robot mode, but yeah, it really does look awful in vehicle mode. As for the head complaints I don't think the antennas need extending, just that the top of his helmet needs lowering a bit.

I don't know what it is about ToyWorld's designs that simply doesn't excite me. They seem to tick a few of the big boxes with regards a character's physical appearance, but completely give up on the small details.

Well, it's up to you who you display with who, but in my collection Springer's size to Optimus isn't a issue. Optimus is pre-movie, Springer is post-movie. So Springer hangs out with folks like Ultra Magnus and Rodimus.

Image

In the end, it's up to you. I think it's a bad looking figure, and it also covers a character I don't see as needing to be done (as Hasbro already well did so), but if you decide you want to get it, I hope you enjoy it!

Well, you may have noticed something similar in the picture included in my last post in this thread... But to be fair, I've never had a shelf of Masterpiece Autobots. I only have four of them, half of them are on my G1 Optimus Prime shelf, and the other one is just hanging out with a few other Rodimus figures. So otherwise, Grimlock would be lonely. Not like my three (or eight, if you count the cassettes separately) Masterpiece Decepticons who all get to hang out together.

It's not a bad shot. Moving Grimlock over might be justified - he is smaller than current MP-scale, after all.

I've seen that picture and think MP-08 looks good there, but was happy with where he stood on my shelves. I have MP-01 and everything from MP-08 onwards, so Grimlock already has a home. This is the first time I have ever considered moving him.

megatronus wrote:It's not a bad shot. Moving Grimlock over might be justified - he is smaller than current MP-scale, after all.
His smaller size not fitting with MP2.0 makes moving him an easier decision. His far more show accurate looks is the main reason I still resist (though having iGear's mini-bots does kinda contradict that statement :D ).

Given the look of TF4 Optimus, I'm not too hopeful on a sweet-looking Grimlock. Though with expectations as low as mine, I look forward to being pleasantly surprised. ;)

That does work pretty well, that is if you actually use Orion as your Classics Optimus, then again there are people who use Faith Leader for heir Classics, so it really doesn't seem to matter what you do.

Still think this toy isn't slim enough to be comic accurate.

I wouldn't be so sure, I mean Springer and Blitzwing were both decent sizes, and there is no reason why Hasbro won't use the same size for Optimus. They know that Optimus always sells

Given the pattern over the many re-iterations of Classics/Neo-G1 since the original line to have both Megatron and Optimus sized at their "more popular" deluxe price point, I seriously doubt it.

I still ain't seeing it either, so you aren't alone. (Although as you say, it is down to personal preference.) Although my issues aren't so much with the robot mode, that those pictures compare. I still think Orion's truck mode looks like hell. (Mind you, the fact that I also like Classic Prime's robot mode and don't think it needs replacing in either mode doesn't help Orion's chances with me... I'm just saying that my poor opinion on him is more based on the truck mode, which these particular photos did not show comparisons of.)
