Yeah, I really don't understand that price range... I hope they reconsider because I could find a place for this as Armada Overload if that trailer remains at a more reasonable price, but 170? My checkbook just can't justify that with so much awesome from other, more credible 3rds out there with much nicer offerings.

I don't think it justifies the price but, in fairness, this trailer also does a battle-station type thing, like Prime's G1 trailer. Maybe there are more features and accessories in here than we realize.

He is definitely not worth $170, i did a double take when i saw the price! I thought BBTS did a typo and accidentally added the 1 infront of $69.99 :lol:

Look at the super robot mode's scale. Look at the trailer mode scale. Look at the Base Mode. Looks like we have another case like protector, upgrade AND Base Mode. Or maybe they'll pull a battle tanker and attach it all for a super super mode? Plus roller. Who knows what this thing does, but they may reveal it to be worth that price.
But I really doubt it...

The problem I see is in the FoC figures themselves. The Optimus /Magnus mold just has such poor shoulder articulation I'm just really hesitant about it. Plus wow that price is a downer.

I think it looks amazing. But the price point is WAY too high. Especially with everything that's coming out.

Looks good. but Arms are too skinny... and that head doesn't look like Ultra Magnus to me... is this suppose to be someone else now?

Its the OP version they are showing in robot mode and UM version in trailer mode.

I know exchange rates but knowing what you can get for 80 bucks I cannot justify this.

some are saying it just could be their distributor. Like they want to sell it for $100 but then their distributor sells it to BBTS or TFSource etc for $130 to make some money, then BBTS needs to sell it at $170 to make some money as well. it sucks but it happens.

Some good points in this discussion about reasoning out the "higher" prices for these two products. I'll reiterate that I feel we still don't know the full details of this product (even though we get a bit more info every few days), so price speculation may not be suitable yet.

However, the general consensus is that we're getting a product on par with previous trailer/armor sets at a much higher price (almost 2x the amount). Third Party is still a niche environment, but as others have stated there are simply too many competing products out there which offer a better experience for the price.

Since this won't be released until the Fall, I think there's still time for Transformazing to show off the ins and outs of the trailer and win people over. How many will actually bite remains an unknown. Final price, availability of other products, and the consumer's lunch money will give us the answer down the road.

I agree with you, necr0. The more I see, the more I do appreciate and like what I see. The price point is still going to be a major issue with me. If it was half, I'd be very, very temnpted. That may not be reasonable, based on all the features that are shown here already.

Certain distributor exclusivity also adds to the price. It might have been that they didn't shop it around being that it's their first try. I'm still hoping that the price would drop down to a more reasonable one - $100 or below.

I do hope we get more and more details regarding it. Close ups of the head and other details. These are just prototype shots so we maybe get a lot better detailed figure come september. =]

Agree, I'd love to see that price point. And I know what you mean about exclusivity - BBTS had the two Battle Tanker remakes at $40 more than the original but I rationalized that I really wanted to have them. This may also encompass a more limited production run of those two sets but I don't have those facts at hand to verify.

I'm ready to let the market play out the price.
