I have received information that the second Transformers movie will be an X-Files crossover. I can not reveal how I received this information nor from where. I do not know the plot of this movie, nor if any aspect of the X-Files alien mythology will be in it. I do know these two facts though:

1.) Fox Mulder and Dana Scully will be in it.

2.) The friendship between Fox Mulder and Optimus Prime will be at the heart of this movie.

This is NO April Fools joke, though many of you are going to think otherwise! But I decided to post this piece of news on April Fools just for fun!

In all seriousness, do you really expect anybody to fall for this? Are you expecting some kind of reaction other than people sighing, rolling their eyes and thinking "Boy, what a douche"?

Just for the gullible ones out there, X-Files 2 is set to open this June, there hasn't been any discussion about doing any more XF related stuff after that.

So yeah ... this thread? Infinite fail.

Spend the next year thinking up something better before trying again.

Actually, XF2 comes out this July.

And there only hasn't been any discussion about doing anymore plain X-Files movies after this one. They gave XF2 a low budget and want to see how it performs first before investing in anymore XF flicks.

However, given the success of TF1, they know a TF2 movie will be successful X-Files in it or not. Thus, creating a TF/XF crossover movie is a safer bet than another plain X-Files movie.

As for XF/TF crossover movie discussions, those are being kept secret right now as the TF2 script is being written and the deal between Fox (which owns the X-Files franchise), Dreamworks, Paramount, and Hasbro is being discussed and ironed out.

In an interview at Wondercon, X-Files creator Chris Carter was asked this question regarding future XF projects:

"How about crossovers or cameos, say characters from Millenium?"

Chris Carter replied, "That's a great idea. I can't comment on that."

Of course, maybe there will be characters from Millenium in the XF flick or future flicks and that is what Chris Carter is referring to. Or maybe he is referring to the XF/TF crossover movie coming out next year. All I know is what I have been given.

But realy, for this year, Burn takes April Fools. He's a prick for what he did, but I gotta give it to him.

However that said, I can't wait to see this excellent movie tie in. I can see XF2 giving a nod to giant robots or S7. So it must be absoulutly true

Yeah ... ahhhh ... no. See, the mythologies of both franchises are EXTREMELY different. For it to even remotely work something is going to have to get reconned.

On one side, you've got Fox and a franchise that has 9 years of stories (more when you factor in books and comics) and a creator by the name of Chris Carter who is VERY protective of his creation.

On the other side you've got Michael Bay who really doesn't care about any franchises.

Bay, meet Carter. Yeah ... you know which franchise is going to get screwed over? Transformers. Bye bye Sector-7.

As far as Millenium goes .. let's see what else he said.

Carter also revealed that he has mulled a movie based on his other TV series, Millennium, which starred Lance Henriksen. "We've talked about that over the years," he said. "Lance would love to do it. I don't know if it would ever get done. It's a long shot. It would be fun. I have ideas about how to do it."

The way I see it, regardless of the success of XF2. Carter will be dedicated to his mythology and would have no interest in crossing over.

I dont see any Transformers.

He's not talking about Transformers appearing in XF2, he's talking about a XF crossover into TF2.

Geez that does get confusing when the only difference between XF2 and TF2 are the first letters.

I thought he was suggesting [in a joke ] that XF2 and TF2 were going to be the same film.

That instead of 2 separate films we were getting 1 cross over film.

I'm even thinking that this may be an attempt by Bay himself meaning someone he hired to put out false info on the film.

A newbie comes on to this site and his first post is to complain about the movie on several issues yet STILL continues to talk about the film in actually what appears to be somewhat positive and that he's interested in it.

moldavites very first post on this site was about how racist, sexist and military propagandized and heavily product placed movie this was but in my view never really went into much detail, they were rather generalized statements and any details WE happily provided by over analyzing the film to death.

Think about it, on Bays own website a good six months ago there was a similar thread...eerily similar and it's just being continued to keep the flames of TF2 going and keep the talk and hype going about the film.

I realize Meverix was just being funny but I prefer to think of it as being realistic, keeping the possibilities open it's not that much of a stretch to me at least.
