The height of Siege Jetfire, Legacy Menasor, or even Legacy Armada Optimus's slightly shorter size would have been perfect for him.

^Awesome, glad that was clarified. I made the same comparison on another forum to Star Saber & Dai Atlas, and someone was like "no Star Convoy is 48M (or 157 feet tall)", and that just didn't make sense.

I agree CC ala Siege Jetfire would be perfect for Star Convoy. So if we got a CC sized Star Convoy & Grandus, and maybe a Leader sized Sky Garry.... But then that Titan set would probably be pushed into the $230 or $240 range...

But, if Sky Garry is leader sized and has any retool/repaint potential and would not be a one-off mold, they could do the Titan as Convoy and Grandus and release Sky Garry as a regular leader.

Not a bad idea, since that would allow for more of the budget and mass to go to Star Convoy and Grandus rather than having to set aside some from Sky Garry. Star Convoy and Grandus do also have their own integration gimmick between just the two of them alone, so that would permit a set of just them two to still feel like a complete package. Sky Garry as a separate release would be like DLC for them.

It's been pointed out to me that The Battlestars story pages do say that Star Convoy and Super Megatron are 45 meters tall and 35 meters tall, respectively.

Image Image

However, the illustrations in the story pages don't reflect that. Star Convoy is shown to be about two heads taller than Sky Garry, who is shown in the first Battlestars story page to be about one head shorter than Dai Atlas, who was shown in Zone to be just a little shorter than Victory Saber, who is just Star Saber wearing extra boots, and Star Saber was shown in Victory to be within the same height neighborhood as both Deathsaurus and the four Combiners of that series.

And then there's this pic of Sky Garry and Optimus Prime.

Even the package art seems to mostly agree even though they tend to be mostly non-canon. Micromasters being roughly the size of humans shows that these guys aren't even proper bases, more like field battle stations

I'm thinking whoever wrote the blurbs with the sizes didn't realize those bots were Micromasters and made the numbers based on them being populated by normal sized Transformers.

Transformers lore since time immemorial: "What am scale? 8-}"

Unlikely to be buying this TBH, whatever form it takes, but I should probably read up on Return of Convoy as post-Victory JG1 is still something of a blind spot for me. It's cool to see HasTak delving into it, though.

TJ Omega pointed out something about this Titan Star Convoy release that I have to agree with. The name Hasbro opted to go with for it is "Star Optimus Prime". While an accurate westernization of the original name, it's frankly boring. A name TJ proposed that would have not only sounded cooler but would have paid homage to Star Convoy's original team is "Battlestar Optimus Prime".

But, if I had to guess, Battlestar Galactica may already hold a grip on that word's trademark for merchandise.

I actually suggested Optimus Maximus in another forum. He's certainly big enough

Image

Its unfortunate Hasbro wants to keep the "Convoy" name out of westernization. Especially when its fitting in this case. I mean I would "think" mostly fans are purchasing Titans. But for any kid who is fortunate enough to have his parents drop $200 for a toy. If the splash art shows an awesome "beefed up" Optimus, that has a wicked anime-look ;) . I don't think the kids gonna say "Star Convoy? who's that? -- Pass".....

Plus a one-sentence bio on the back can fix all that

AotP Megatronus Box Gives First Look at Listed Titan Star Optimus Prime and Unlisted Liege Maximo

While caught up in the excitement of Age of Primes Megatronus and the glorious return of plastic window boxes during the Sunday 1027 event you might have missed a rather big Easter egg on the side of the box. We previously had a leaked listing stating the 2025 Titan for this line would be Star Convoy, renamed Star Optimus Prime. Not only does he appear on the side of Megatronus' box, but we're also getting an early look at what appears to be Liege Maximo who hasn't been leaked as part of the 2025 lineup as of yet (we are missing Leader for wave 3). Also Star Optimus Prime has a torso much more reminiscent of Powermaster Optimus Prime than the original Star Convoy figure, feel free to speculate on what that could mean.

The box also appears like it might form a panorama of all the Prime statues as more are released and lined up together.

While we've had many iterations of Optimus Prime and Megatronus/The Fallen and even a few Star Convoy figures and homages this is our first proper Liege Maximo, our only other figure is the Prime Master paired with the Skullgrin decoy armor in Power of the Primes. His design is based on his appearance at the end of Marvel's G2 comic line, though maybe a little leaner.

What do you think of this teaser of two more upcoming Primes? Let us know in the Energon Pub forums!

So this new Star Convoy is supposed to be a pre-mold for a new Powermaster Prime? If so I hope they do PM Prime correctly.

As for Liege Maximo, I think it'll be like CE Straxus, we'll just get this one figure and they will be done with him. Hopefully they get the deco right.

I REALLY hope the art is based on an early design draft and the chest changes by the final figure. You can see the wheels on his arms so they still seem to be forming the cab, which makes the chest all the more confusing. They don't really resemble each other and you can even see what looks to be Hi-Q/Ginrai right there.

I wonder what sort of alt mode Liege will end up having.

I noted this on the Fallen thread, but all four of the Primes so far have been based on their first appearance (G1 Alpha Trion, Cybertron Vector Prime, Dreamwave The Fallen, G2 Liege Maximo). I wonder if this trend will continue for the remaining nine Primes?

I'm also curious who the thirteenth Prime will be. There could be an Optimus-inspired Arisen figure, Zeta Prime like in Transformers One, or, my personal pick, a Logos Prime figure.

Question is whether it is an actual Powermaster figure or is it a faux one molded onto the chest/cab? If the latter, then that's probably not the front of the cab in vehicle mode, much like the original.

Now that we see what's on the side of the box, the Star Convoy figure is probably the thirteenth.

Are they releasing versions of all 13 Primes in 2025? I figured this would be another 3 year cycle. Kind of cool they are going with the same symbols as the aligned continuity/Power of the Primes. Originally there was supposed to be 15, including the 13th Prime, as well as Primus and Unicron themselves. But The Prime Masters only had 8, then you had to get Potp Predaking, and the SDCC "Throne of the Primes" Optimal Optimus repaint to get the rest. Yeah I still have them, that was...interesting.

I don't care how the art on the new boxes looks. I'm just glad Hasbro has finally admitted that the 'plastic-free packaging' experiment has been a dismal failure. The plastic window lets you SEE the contents, and verify that your purchase hasn't been tampered with, or had bits and pieces stolen. Closed boxes with no windows, and boxes with small, open windows? Bad idea from the get-go, and most of us said so directly when they started doing it. Ah, validation - it feels nice sometimes to say "we told you so".

Friendly reminder.

Well there's 7 in that list, which I assume is incomplete, Then if you add Star Convoy (8), and Liege Maximo (9), there's still 4 others, so its a *maybe* at this point.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

It's probably another trilogy, since Hasbro seems to like those now.
