It's not that I don't like the mold, but when I got it, the plastic quality just didn't feel good. He does not feel good in hand. He's loose, light, and a lot of things either move when they shouldn't or don't hold together like they should. I just don't like the reissue.

Probably referring to the probability that it'll go yellow over time like the first release. I don't think we've had issues with the reissue yellowing so soon after release (unlike that small problem with Motor Master)

Legacy Motormaster's yellowing (and of other current figures) is of a slightly different nature. The plastic that's discoloring isn't the typical hard ABS: it's the PA (aka Nylon) in the joints that's the culprit.

This remind me of a huge stack of RTS Lugnuts at 15$CAN at Toys R Us. I already had one so I bought one as a gift for a friend and that's it.

I should have bought the whole stack...

It's hard to know what TF will be worth a fortune down the line.

In hindsight, I had the means to do so at the time too. But I dismissed buying another, since I already owned both

Wolffang and Retrax are finally in stock on Walmart.com. Could be a sign that they'll be in stores in a couple weeks.

I'm sorry that's been your experience; mine is fairly solid and feels just as hefty as the original to me, and the only things I've noted as loose on him are things that on my secondhand 1996 Primal take excessive force to move.
My only complaint is that the missile launcher springs are underpowered, but that can easily be changed and it doesn't ruin the satisfaction of having a complete Primal (my '96 Primal is missing one sword, two missiles (three if you count the one I have but which is playing hide-and-seek in my room), the mutant mask, the mace, and the left gorilla back panel - meaning he's stuck with the left cannon perma-deployed).

Also, I hope you're being hyperbolic with "$9 is too much for Primal" because that's dirt cheap for a complete figure this size, and even if you got a Primal that turned out poorly... at $9, you effectively got a complete spare parts kit that can be used to restore an incomplete original Primal. For less than what a single one of his accessories would cost you on eBay. I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

My reissue is perfectly fine quality-wise, so it's straight-up supplanting the original in my collection. I'll still be restoring the original to completeness, but it's no longer as urgent. I think I'll also be turning him into an Ultra-class Nemesis Primal.

I've also recently acquired reissue Cheetor. He's pretty good, although I haven't tested the water gun yet. The beast mode articulation is a disappointment (enough that I do also want to get the Kingdom toy), but on the flipside he has and can store his full weapon set without having to not only buy 3P add-ons, but then modify said add-ons due to their design failings.

However, I am annoyed by the fact that they still haven't reversed the stupid retool to the beast mode head hinge that Takara made for their release of Tigatron. I get what they were going for, but it was a dumb thing to do (especially as a true retool instead of just alternate parts) because the figure as a whole doesn't really accommodate it and it results in an incomplete transformation.

Can anyone supply photos of the unvandalized hinge? I want to see how hard correcting it would be.

When Takara did their release of Tigatron (and show accuracy-enhanced rerelease of Cheetor), they retooled the hinge assembly for the beast mode head to make it point forward in robot mode (per Tigatron's model and the aborted major retool plans) instead of tucking in more and pointing down. And every subsequent use of the Cheetor mold has been stuck with this change.

Got my Retrax. He is stupidly neat. He is goofy, but I am enjoying him so far. He's weird but cool

I have the vintage, but I never saw Retrax in store, nor Wolfgang nor Cybershark.

Retrax and Wolffang haven't shown up in stores here yet either, probably will soon since they're both shipping now and Terrosaur showed up in stores only a week or so after shipping.

I can understand the missing rub sign, and the antennae can be swapped. But the missing middle legs are a huge WAT.
