Yeah but he said a maximum of like 10 lines, did a little fight with drones and died in the span of 5 minutes and he got voiced by someone else later so we still would of had Cliffjumper if the rock wasn't in the show...according to concept art and such
Easily one of the dumbest moments in the Transformers franchise period and the justification doesn't give it justification on the fact it doesn't make sense.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Yeah, it's a bad joke, but someone had to make it.
His gimmick basically was originally Marky Mark with muscles. (after a brief stop off on a Vanilla Ice halloween costume. Costume?)

Transformers: Bumblebee Starts Shooting Today!
Posted by Tyrannacon Wed Aug 16, 2017 4:02 pm
The film shoot for “Bumblebee,” code-named “Brighton Falls,” was surrounded by heavy security Tuesday, including San Rafael Police Department officers and Paramount vans and trucks.
Zachary Quemore, assistant location manager for Paramount, declined to say how long the film crew for “Brighton Falls,” a.k.a. “Bumblebee,” would be in town shooting at the set.
“I have no idea,” Quemore said, referring all other questions to Paramount officials.
The set, said by San Rafael city personnel to be a facade of a house, was built earlier this year on an open lot at the end of a cul de sac overlooking the San Pablo Bay.
Access to the set was not available, Quemore said.

If this one doesn't bring tears to my eyes, in a good way (unlike The Last Knight), then we truly do need a reboot. And fast. Before Paramount ruins Unicron.

I don't need it to be a masterclass in writing a'la fullmetal alchemist, major course corrections, a tight cohesive narrative, and likable, memorable characters would be good enough for me.
Dunno why big-dumb-action movies like fasting furiously and pacific rim do so well, and tf 5 didn't, franchise burnout, no innovation, maybe the tf movies were too egregiously written?

This is why I go for the Marvel movies for that sort of niche; Avengers is a perfect example of how to have a fun, diverse group of heroes with unique powers that use said unique powers in their own different and inventive way.
This is also why I'd love to see the Transformers movie taking full advantage of this idea -- rather than just hitting each other, I'd like to see inventive use of transformation and alt-modes in battle; I'd like to see each Autobot have different weapons to take down their enemies; at a stretch I'd like to see the return of different powers like BM Blackarachnia's webs or G1 Skywarp's teleportation to really diversify what each 'bot can do.
And, most of all; this is why I'm so glad to see a new director take the reins, as it shows hope for this sort of thing happening in the movie. A new breath of air for a franchise is always a gamble; but in cases like this, it's the sort of gamble I'd really like to take.

It's because Pacific Rim wasn't nearly as dumb as any of the TF movies have been. Nor was Real Steel and that wasn't even a giant robot movie.Hellscream9999 wrote:Dunno why big-dumb-action movies like fasting furiously and pacific rim do so well, and tf 5 didn't, franchise burnout, no innovation, maybe the tf movies were too egregiously written?
Shucks, even the Power Rangers movie wasn't as dumb either (though, it didn't do so well either, but that was more of a timing thing, and is doing well now in home media sales).

I hated Avengers. Hell I hate most of the MCU stuff I've been forced to watch. Far too fall of bland characters (in some cases actors just beingmostly themselves like Downey Jnr) looking for a moment to wink at the camera and want us to say how cool they all think they are. Formulaic beyond belief too. And in no way in hell should Spider-Man need Iron Man to help him be a superhero in any way whatsoever. Spidey's always been quite capable of being awesome by himself.
Maybe still better made than the DCEU stuff (Wonder Woman was ok but vastly overrated for what was a ridiculously predictable and quite drab film but I wonder how much of that was cos she's forced into being in the already godawful fun-free DCEU with mopey Superman and psycho Batman)
I ain't saying I think the Transformers films are perfect in any way but they've given me a hell of a lot more enjoyment than most things in recent years including those damn superhero films (Logan's prob my fave film of the year and that's partially cos it was wasn't a typical overdone superhero movie and more of a more down to earth western).
Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron
