Bay's absence was definitely felt. The movie lacked the sense of scale and "epicness" he brought to the table. There were a handful of scenes I thought were going to build up to an awesome payoff, but then they'd just cut back to an overly goofy joke or something. And the music was terrible. Completely laughable, especially the military theme. It made them feel like cartoon characters instead of a real threat.

But I will say the fight scenes were probably the best in the series. Too bad they were just so few and far between. I definitely liked the movie better than The Last Knight, and it wasn't a bad movie. Just didn't blow me away like I wanted it to.

You know, I always liked you Sly. You always voiced your opinion well, even if it was unpopular and you don't mind people challenging you on it, always answering with heart. And what i like best is that even though you are a fan of the Bay films, you are not a blind follower, you will call him out on missteps, like TLK.

As for the idea of not needing the parents, you bring good arguments. It is not necessary for character growth. The best example is Stranger things. We really dont spend much time with the main character's parents even though they are young teenagers. Of ourse, there's Will's mom but she is an actual main character. SNL even made a joke that we never see Lucas' parents. And its not even a movie, its a whole show. The creators knew that showing interactions with all the parents was uneccesary and preffered to focus on the kids' interaction with the otherworldy aspects. And this is a great comparison to BB because oth BB and Strangers things rely heavily on 80s Nosalgia and Amblin films.

So far it's 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Did you know that Age of Exinction was as well before more critics saw it? Not saying it will sink at all, I just always found that funny. And anyways, 100% just means no one hated the film, which is very different than saying its a great movie.

I thought the death of Charlie's father was part of the plot. That's why she's longing for freedom, for adventure, for love right? But at the end she and Bumblebee brought each other 'back to life' right? Hence Hailee Steinfeld's end credits song. I haven't seen it yet so I'm not sure, but I've heard it in an interview.

Definitely not 100% at the beginning for Age of Extinction. And normally it will sink to just a low 90%. Age of Extinction is 18% on Rotten Tomatoes. Anyways, I didn't say it's a great movie. I'm just replying to that person who thought that it's going to have a high rating on the tomato meter. Plus I saw online that the people who saw it had a great time seeing critics' shocked faces as they got out of the cinema.

No it's not that, people just didn't like the movie like any other Bay Transformers film.

Bay's films are just not liked by most people.

Yes, what a conspiracy that Age of Extinction be reviewed poorly. The critics did it specifically to anger you, Sly. They secretly loved Age of Extinction the mostest of ALL movies before or since, but the desire to rate Age of Extinction poorly was so strong as to be irresistible.

Or maybe it’s just coz Age of Extinction is a pretty garbage movie. Lockdown was cool though, too bad they killed him off. But the rest of the film, yeah. Real bad.

Here's an interesting little snippet about Unicron.

“Okay, I’m going to be controversial,” Di Bonaventura said. “I’m not a fan of Unicron. It’s too big. It’s so big it’s beyond any sort of relatable thing I think, for me personally. That doesn’t mean it’s not going to be in the series someday. I don’t know that I’ve thought much about it honestly because we’ve been focused on this movie.”

The whole article is about the future of the franchise.

They already did put Unicron in these movies, he was in The Last Knight. Why's he acting like they haven't?

Well, if the TLK app timeline is any indication, it looks more like they already tried to retcon away ROTF and half of DOTM, so what's one more piece of the broken puzzle at this point, heh.

I'm ok with that. I'm not a big fan of the movies nor do I have a problem with them. I enjoy each one for what it is. Like bubblegum, chew it until the flavor is gone and spit it out. I am cautiously excited for the Bee movie. The reviews seem to be pretty favorable and hopefully they'll continue the trend.

Dolby Cinema reveals new exclusive Bumblebee Movie poster

Postby Wolfman Jake » Wed Dec 12, 2018 12:08 am

Can't get enough buzz about the soon to be released Bumblebee movie? Dolby Cinema has got you covered with their new EXCLUSIVE movie poster! You can check out Dolby's post on their Facebook page by following this link. You should be able to spot this poster in person at theatres across the United States equipped with Dolby Cinema technology.

The poster itself shows Bumblebee looming large in the background, with his new co-star, Hailee Steinfeld, front and center, portraying Charlie Watson, the latest teen/young adult to represent the human heart of the Transformers saga. John Cena of WWE fame, turning in a performance as the new human antagonist to Bumblebee, Jack Burns of Sector Seven, can be seen standing with weapon at the ready, flanked by two of the new Decepticons for the film, Shatter (red) and Dropkick (blue), in their robot modes. Finally, a couple of fighter jets can be seen flying over the Golden Gate bridge to the right.

Image

One of them is likely Blitzwing, who we learned quite early on was the character we assumed was Starscream when the first teasers for Bumblebee dropped earlier this year. We don't know who the other jet might be, though. Is THAT Starscream? We know he's making an appearance in the "Flashback on Cybertron" portion of the movie. Could it just be a generic Decepticon grunt? Could it be a Sector Seven vehicle? Or is it just artistic license?

We'll find out soon enough when Bumblebee finally hits theatres on December 21! How will YOU be experiencing the Bumblebee movie? Join the Buzz and let us know in the comments below! As always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all the latest news on all things Transformers!

Transformers: Bumblebee Movie recut to achieve PG rating for UK release

Postby ZeroWolf » Wed Dec 12, 2018 4:43 pm

Motto: "My past no longer binds my future..."
Weapon: Battle Blades
Following information submitted to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) we've now learned that Bumblebee's age rating certificate has been lowered from a 12-A (no one under twelve years of age without Adult Supervision) to a PG rating (Parental Guidance advised). Thus certificate will increase the chance that more families will see the film when it opens on the 26th of December in the UK. It appears as though footage was cut to make this change as the new running time is now 113 mins and 38 seconds, the amount of footage lost is minimal.

Image
Please note that this poster was from before the date of the movie was changed to that of the 26th December in the UK.

Are you looking forward to seeing this film? If you have already seen it at an early advance screening, don't forget to leave your feedback in our spoiler thread. Everyone else feel free to leave your comments in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews.

Wow, Bumblebee was 22 seconds away from being PG? Nice lol.
I'd imagine those 22 seconds were some of the few curse words removed/shortening some intense action shots. Who knows. And who cares

Weird, Cinema ratings wise Once upon a deadpool is showing as a 15 rating for us (the original deadpool 2 release here was a 15!) so they are kind of screwy and always have been.
Looks like some showings of bumblebee are on this weekend and the cuts durations not enough to avoid seeing it -but if 60 seconds of cuts from Arnies Commando can make it A-team level of violence 22 seconds could be more than a few curse words.
Maybe it will be like the first film and get an imax screening with a few cut bits put back in.

Seibertron Exclusive - Transformers Bumblebee Booth from Brazil's CCXP Comic Con Experience 2018

Postby D-Maximal_Primal » Wed Dec 12, 2018 6:46 pm

Weapon: Armor Axe
Today, we have some very special and unique news to share with you. Seibertronian TulioDude was fortunate enough to attend CCXP 2018, which is a Brazilian Comic Con Experience. The event featured a very large media presence, and among the many booths at the event was one dedicated to Bumblebee and his upcoming movie! TulioDude was kind enough to take a ton of pictures of the event, and even wrote us up a description of the event to go with his pictures. Check out the full experience below!

TulioDude wrote:The first three are the Bumblebee statue that was present.Upon close inspection it seems a advanced version of a papercraft, mixed with metal and lights. Its was very well done.

The place was built to resemble a garage with few tools and different models of TVs,as you can see the next three photos.

The other side had few games resembling an arcade with arcade like cabinets (pretty sure one of them was Metal Slug), one pinball machine (a Bumblebee movie themed one) and a stage with people playing Just Dance with some 80’s songs and a few more. There was also some dioramas like the previous one seen in other conventions around, but I did not manage to get more photos of them. An overall view in the next pic.

Of note, one of the highlights was one arcade cabinet with a Bumblebee game, which could be played by up to two players in split screen. I thing this game was seen elsewhere before but I don't remember where. There was also the same in a few smart devices nearby. The next four pics show this. The toy store named ToyMania, was one responsible for selling Transformers merchandise there. It was a selection of the Bumblebee line, Studio series, Cyberverse and miscellaneous ones. If bought anything, you earned the convention exclusive cup, and any if spent more than R$199,00 (Brazil currency remember) in total price, you get the exclusive shirt (i didn't get one). All this seen in the next nine pics. The pin-bottom was the prize for playing the Bumblebee arcade game.

To cap it off one last pics of the tools and one of the outside view.
