John Cena Talks about Transformers: Bumblebee, Says Film Will Reinvigorate the Movieverse
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal Sat Mar 24, 2018 5:27 pm
Cena has been heavily rumored to be acting as Agent Burns of Sector 7, though that is still yet to be confirmed. He also makes note, inadvertently, that he and Bumblebee will come to face to face in the film, as he talks about interacting with a tennis ball on a 13 foot tall stick, which is what actors use to focus on when a character will be added in using CGI later.
Check out some quotes from the interview below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
I think Travis Knight did a fantastic job of reintroducing the look, the feel, the storytelling of this franchise. I think people who enjoy what ‘Transformers’ was will enjoy the movie.
.....
Here we are talking about ‘Blockers’ a comedy with a lot of improvisation. It is very difficult to improvise with a 13 foot stick with a tennis ball attached to it. So it is a different movie-making process, but one I was extremely interested in.”

The thing is, all actors has been praising M.Bay for all the TF Mov releases, specially the last two. So, not holding my breath Plus i do realize with TF films, its not up to the actors... its literally the Director that carries the Whole weight of the film's representation. Purely, make or break.

There will always be a majority of humans in a live action Transformers film, it's on Earth and cgi isn't able to keep them on screen all the time, also the general public believe it or not doesn't give that much of a darn about the Transformers themselves because their giant robots whose only real purpose is to fight each other and sell toys.
Regardless Bay is only a producer in this and the director of this film has made good work so I think he knows a bit about what he's doing.

Actors performance in TF films track record this far (if not all) are one dimensionally substance-less over the top. Seeing how Bay is still involve albeit no longer in the directors chair kinda is not a competent point to think otherwise.
Yup, general public just wants a good intelligent film regardless on its purpose to sell toys etc. I dare say 5 subtance-less version of the latter is quite plentiful for the general public as well.. lol.
Travis Knight has made quite decent Animation films as a Producer & lead animator.
Bumblebee being his 2nd major film directorial debut, Kubo being his 1st. So kind of early to tell. Remember, Bay had strings of good film before he took on the TF franchise & his folio was wayy more lucrative(as in competent) than Travis's.
We'll see how he fares come December. Super low expectations though. Unlike anticipating for ROTF after the 1st TF film before we found out that was the beginning of a downward spiral.

More John Cena Comments on Bumblebee: The Movie
Posted by Va'al Fri Mar 30, 2018 3:20 am
The interview is about Cena's plans and wishes for future roles, but he directed the discussion onto Bumblebee instead, repeating his previous positive points about director Travis Knight, and the nature of the story. Check them out below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub!
After a string of comedic roles, the actor is back in the action-movie fold with Bumblebee, the Transformers spin-off set 20 years before the events of the first film.
“It’s going to be a wonderful piece of this franchise that I think people are going to enjoy,” promises Cena. “I was very intrigued being able to meet the team around the movie. [Director] Travis [Knight] is such a passionate man. The role they were talking to me about doing was very intriguing to me because it’s a road I’ve never been down before, but a road I felt like I could accomplish. And then put that together with the context of the movie, the way that the consumer will now view Bumblebee, all of that stuff was very interesting to me. And then they were stupid enough to say yes.”
Bumblebee, which also stars Hailee Steinfeld, races into theaters on Dec. 21.

Thanks to the Penguin Randomhouse site, we now have both a cover (possibly temporary however), a title (From Cybertron with Love), and more information on the plot of this movie prequel.
Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion thread!Fan-favorite Autobot Bumblebee is recruited for a top secret mission, and 1960s London won’t know what hit it when this robot in disguise goes undercover.
It’s high-tech, high-octane, high-clearance spy hijinks in From Cybertron with Love.
Some call him Goldfender, but the name’s Bee… Bumblebee. On loan to MI6 and teamed with a human partner, Bee’s trapped in the middle of a Cold War plot to disrupt British Secret Intelligence. But when their base is destroyed from within, it’s up to Bee to discover if there’s a traitor in their midst…and, in the spy world, allegiances can change just as easily as a Cybertronian.
From long-time Transformers writer and British super spy aficionado John Barber (Optimus Prime, Action Man), From Cybertron With Love is the official prequel to the new Bumblebee film, in theaters December 2018.
