No, I have. I very much have. But it's generally more robust on modern TFs when present in sufficient thickness and not idiotically used for ball joints or ittybitty tabs (Looking at you, Soundbarrier and SS86 Hot Rod).Jelze Bunnycat wrote:You never had clear plastic break on you, did you?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:*snip*Which is a massive downgrade because it makes him look like a candy toy or Happy Meal toy. All of which is undercut by the poopy Happy Meal toy windows.Sabrblade wrote:his red is brighter and so much more vibrant, his arms and legs are the correct gray and black instead of red and black, his bazooka is metallic blue, he's got an Autobrand on his chest and on the front end of his car hood...

And is just so odd that this new Kup isn't what we initially got in SS86.
Is this Hastak's move to sell more of this mold because they weren't able to figure out a better way with something like a SG version?
Kup has the Orion Pax retool/redeco option, which looks like they will be doing anyways.
But I don't think it's about selling more of this mold per se but rather ensure that retailers have constant stock on their shelves for anyone who wants to buy Transformers. And thus is what they settled on as the low effort product.

Honestly, the Earthrise Cliffjumper mold just prints money for Hasbo at this point.

Seriously, in my case I'm not buying it again, again, again, again, again. Throw in another again if you count Netflix Bee. Crazier than the seekers because of the 7 uses, 5 cover versions of just 2 characters.

I do hope we get another shot at Netflix VW Bumblebee, though. I'd be willing to double dip if they brightened up the shade of yellow used and maybe swapped out Cliffjumper's bazooka for some more accessories/props from the cartoon.

I'm more on the "Yes, he's more accurate, AND he looks better" side of things with BB Cliffjumper.
The bellends who do that deserve getting their collections stolen.william-james88 wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I wonder how many people will buy the new Kup and switch it with the older Kup before returning it.
Sadly, I forsee that happening quite a bit.
Afraid I can't agree with the second part. I REALLY don't get what people see in toony-looking opaque cel-shaded/flat light blue windows, why they've started glamorizing them especially on stuff like G1 Earth mode figures. To me, it makes the toys look like cheap model kits or Happy Meal toys.Wolfman Jake wrote:sol magnus wrote:So basically what I said about Cliff yesterday is the consensus: Yes, he's more accurate, but the old one looks better.

Seems to me that making the most use of any and every mold possible is one of Hastak's top priorities.
Which isn't a complaint at all.
But I don't think keeping pegs and shelves full is the main goal of repaints and retools.
Thankfully I think Hastak is doing a pretty decent job with using molds where it works at least decently well.
And when SG Blurr, Sweep, Jackpot, this new CJ and Kup, a Junkion, etc. (hopefully a magenta Hot Rod), help make new molds like SS86 Sludge possible, I appreciate those repaints that much more.

Ah, well, see, for me the issue with the windows completely outweighs the good done by the other things. The original version's darker red and black limbs don't look nearly as bad to me as those hideous windows.Wolfman Jake wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Afraid I can't agree with the second part. Believe me, I don't think the painted windows are ideal at all. The Cliffjumper on the back of his package is my ideal, but that's not what's really available, unfortunately. The upgrades to Cliffjumper, though, including the brighter red paint, Autobot symbols, correctly colored limbs, and even the metallic blue painted bazooka, altogether outweigh the issue with the windows, especially in robot mode. There's a balance between character model accuracy and realistic detail that I enjoy in my figures, and BB Cliffjumper doesn't quite fit that perfectly for me, but it comes much closer than the Earthrise release.

william-james88 wrote:Giving Target more product for their shelves is the whole point of this Buzzworthy line.
Sowndwave76 wrote:Why such an odd mish-mash of releases? Because Hastak is using this line to sell a whole lot of repaints/retools.
Wolfman Jake wrote:Hasbro sells Transformers to stores. Stores resell to us. Hasbro doesn’t directly sell us Transformers per se. Keeping Target stocked with Transformers directly increases Hasbro’s sales and makes them money. So, yes, Hasbro is in it for money, and the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line keeps that cash flowing. It really simple. You’re comparing two different things. One is the means to the other.
