I'm a little disappointed they're going to start 5.0 billing before 4.0 gets the 2nd in. May is a huge month for large releases with UW Bruticus, Victorion, tfss 4.0, armada skywarp, TR probably seeing initial distribution, cyclonus set, and all immediately following Botcon. Great time to be a well bankrolled collector.

I wish there was an option to receive all 7 figures at the end of the service period. I don't need to be the first person to get the figures, but I woul like to save $30-$40 on shipping, which is over 10% of the entire subscription cost.

I completely understand that aspect.

It's just I've agreed with my wife on a budget for my spending on collecting so that I don't go overboard and I don't like having to ask if I can go over my budget.

I'm betting it's just another technical problem, as the order period is supposed to last four weeks.

So, if you are like me, you were probably thrilled to see you received the email from Brian Savage at the much beloved Transformers Collector Club which stated the TFSS 5.0 order period was now open for active TCC members. Well, MAYBE it's just me, but when I go to try to log in to order, what do I get, but a nice screen telling me that the subscription period has now expired. Really?! I don't know the whole reason why Brian Savage and gang are not doing BOTCONs and any more TCC after this next go around, but this is probably a big reason. They cannot get simple things right like their web-based ordering service. Every year they had to change it and put out more and more excuses about why BOTCON registration was later and later. I know I am complaining, and it's unfortunate, too, because I really love the exclusive figures. I haven't figured out why they ever sold retail figures online when their selection was so crummy--you could just go to your local Target, Toys R Us, or Walmart and get a 1000% better selection on retail figures. But they were it for the BOTCON and TCC exclusives. Really a shame. I did the "I'll just shut up and please take my money!" bit for years, but now I can't even do that anymore. Brian, you made this so much harder than it had to be!

Let me hear your gripes and complaints!

P.S. I'm still waiting for my Universe 2.0 Voyager Class Tread Bolt figure I ordered from the TCC back in 2008 that I never received, but that Brian Savage himself PROMISED ME I would get.

Okay, TFSS 5.0 is actually up, and I successfully registered.

I remember hearing quite often back in the day that people were having to flip their convention sets, to cover the cost of the trip and buy what they really wanted. That never really made sense to me but, there ya go.

I posted on their Facebook page about the "expiration", and to their credit, they replied saying they'd temporarily taken the link down to remove the "Sign Up Here" link, because they're no longer accepting memberships. I was able to successfully register.

Okay, I can't even log into the club period. I'm at the member's login screen. My email and password are in and I click 'go'. And nothing happens. What the hell is going on?

No need to log into the club, as far as I know. You just click onto the club website, click on the banner that has Figure Subscription Service 5.0 and the gold Autobot and Decepticon logos, and it should take you to the login screen. I logged in just fine a few minutes ago, no issues.

Again, this is a known issue. You're not a member right now. FunPub is working to grant people like you (who were members as of March 18th, but whose memberships have since expired specifically, but it sounds like it will be anyone who's ever been a member when it's ready) access to the club store.

Yeah, we discussed this in the 4.0 thread. But hopefully they get this fixed. I really want to order these figures and complete the 4.0 line.

BBTS has preorders and holy crap that's some prices I don't want to have to pay!

No kidding. It's $260 usd for the three toys I want a la carte, or $330 for the whole sub. Got a couple TF friends in who want the other three between them...

I only wanted Thrustinator from an earlier sub, so that was fine, but if you want even TWO you might as well do the whole sub and sell the ones you don't want. Kind of wish I did that with 3.0. Didn't want to pay the BBTS price for Serpentor and Tarantulas... realllly didn't want Carzap. ^^

the individual prices only add to the pressure of getting the full sub, i just wish the timing would have been better. this is a slow month for finances

As a reluctant precaution against the worst... I've preordered those from BBTS. Although I hope to god the TFSS gets this whole thing situated so I can order them direct. And so I can continue with the 4.0 line.

I did something similar, pre-ordering the two figures I actually wanted from BBTS. I figure this way, if things fall through, nothing is lost. If FunPub delivers, I pay a slight markup for the ones I want and while I might miss out on a special seventh figure, I think I'll be able to live with it.

Since there seems to be no response on the facebook page, I have questions to pose here. Lifeline, the newest image shows her with green hands. All of her appearances
(including the club comic) show her with the lavender or pink. Is this a final change?

Toxitron, why is he an Autobot? He's never been an Autobot anywhere else. If he absolutely has to be an Autobot, can the symbols be hidden under his arm flaps or the panel for the robot head? Why paste it in the middle of his chest where it can't be ignored? I liked the first mock up because it didn't show any symbols at all. I don't care at all that the combiner is a mixed faction thing. This bugs the hell out of me though. Ideally he's a con or a Wrecker as a compromise. Worst case scenario, an Autobot. He's the one I'm most excited about and to have such a completely off-character change makes no sense to me.

Umm... think of it as Toxitron being a Bizarro Optimus Prime. You know how Bizarro Superman has the backwards S symbol? Well Toxitron has a backwards Autobot symbol.

The bio says he was captured by Shockwave, subjected to experiments, and locked away... Doesn't mean he couldn't have started out as an Autobot, even if his identity has since morphed and warped into something unrecognizable.

I'm still not convinced Toxitron's Autobot symbol isn't a mistake, although I'm hard-pressed to explain why that mold (previously a Decepticon, since the existing Autobot variations used a different chest) should have been given an Autobot symbol by mistake.

It wouldn't be the first time there was a symbol mix-up, but usually it's something less distinct - G1 v. G2 'con instead of 'bot v. 'con.

Toxitron could work as an Autobot, although I'm surprised that no one has realized his true calling is to be a Junkion.
