Probably due to the lack of good size comparisons that can me made from these photos.

Lol. Hello kettle...

If they had found a way to drop his head down and flush his shoulders... then raise the plow up a little he could have stood on Scrapper's shoulders instead of using his arms like that. And still look the same from the front.

Sounds more stable too... They updated Mixmaster a bit, I'm kind of surprised they didn't find something better then 'handstand mode' for Scrapper...

Yeah, I have thought this since the first reveal. The handstand mode has always been dumb to me, and for all the 'structural integrity' stuff, I'm often surprised that noone points to that as something that could have been improved on. I know it's how G1 did it, so people would have complained were it changed, but there's probably a better way for Scrapper.

So Nonnef has posted their fix package for Devastator, and it is a long one. Not sure how everything will pan out, but it is interesting to see. Wonder how their quality is? Wouldn't mind picking up some decent hands for my Galvatronus.

My only real complaint is the dull green paint job in vehicle mode. It IS a little boring. It's fairly ACCURATE and I can understand why they did it. But when you look at the rest of the CW figures you see stripes... You see decals... you see varying paint schemes that make the figures a bit more vibrant. I really am hoping for either TT to do something interesting (which I personally doubt as that would back away from G1 and Cartoon appearances) or some reprolables to add little warning signs or construction stickers or SOMETHING that adds a little detail to the vehicles.

But it's a minor complaint 8)

I really enjoyed reading what you had to say, well said.

The hardest part is picking a version. I mean how long have we wanted something like this, we finally get a good scale, level of detail, individual articulated bots, an articulated master combined form. What more do we really need? Other then some paint stuff which is repro-label solvable I think its fantastic.

I think Hasbro knocked it out of the Park. The combiner wars and generations series has been the only thing keeping me interested in Transformers. This line in particular the combiner wars has been amazing when you consider what we have been given and at the cost point compared to a 3rd party offering.

Here is the big reveal of Takara's Devastator. I included a bunch of pics of the other versions for us to compare. In short, the taktom version comes with the extra weapons and retractable visor as well as the most loyal G1 paint apps. Personally, those two extra features to me are way better than getting some random chrome.

While those pics are at TFW, that's not the actual source (they dont have anyone on hand and all the pictures are from either twitter or facebook accounts). And there are clearly more where those came from. If anyone finds them, please send them to us.

For now here are those pics that I guess will make all the difference. So the interest in the SDCC version must have dwindled right? This is not at all like the Metroplex deal where the difference between all versions is a few paint apps. There is some serious engineering at play here.

Try not to take it too personally, we all have our ground rules for purchases; If we went against them, why have them at all?

Does it suck that Scrapper doesn't have elbows, yes, for a variety of reasons; could it have been engineered in a different way so as to have elbows? probably. I wasn't there, I don't know anything, but between all the ideas kicked around on here, it is evident there could have been alternate solutions out there.

Is it kind of a bummer my 2 rules rule out this purchase? yeah, it kinda does, but they've guided me well so far, so that's what happens I guess. >:oP

So if I wanted my Scrapper to have elbows I could wait lordy knows how long for a TT release (has it been given a release date?) or, as I intend to leave him in combined mode anyway, go with the Hasbro version which I may be able to get by next weekend.

Ok... this is starting to get interesting again. Has there been any word yet on the price of the TT version? I like the idea of the elbows and guns... Naturally I want the best version I can get.

Am I willing to pay an extra $50-$100 for a couple elbows??? Probably not.

Anyone with a strong eye for detail able to breakdown the paint differences? I'm not REALLY strong with 'color' and I'm not really seeing a difference between the Hasbro and TT versions at first glance... Anyone photoshop a comparison of the two yet?

Really, looking at these in this light, I'm REALLY not surprised I went decades thinking that Original Devy was yellow :BANG_HEAD:

Hook and Mixmaster have remolded elbows as well so they don't look like their arms are snapped in half when bent.

Shipping to australia will be waaaayyyy cheaper than shipping to North America so I think australians have a one up on the americans this one time. If I had that advantage, I would take it. We waited a long time for this toy, what's a few extra months really gonna do.

There is no price on the TT version yet. Hopefully, it is available on amiami and hl and not just takaratomymall like Defensor (which would drive the price much higher). And I cant tell the paint differences either aside fom the Left arm having the threads painted purple inside and Devastator having PURPLE HANDS!!!!!!!

Yep, I'm saving up for Takara's Devastator. I didn't really mind the missing elbows, but that plus the guns did it.

Though I'm still going to want a 3rd party replacement for Mixmaster down the road, unless Takara also miraculously reengineered him to not look like he's taking a dump into a Grecian urn in robot mode. I honestly LOVE big ol' clunky-master backpacks, but poop-chutes are another story.

He does look much better in leg mode as well, FWIW.
