LOL......surely you jest....

I am surprised we haven't seen a few of them on the news being hauled off for holding a team of TRU workers hostage with a plastic light saber over some of this stuff........

Bonecrusher also had green treads in the cartoon.

The show just cheated by having his green treads turn purple when forming Devastator.

My my, how easily people forget that the treads forming the armpits and not staying connected to the arms is exactly how it was for Devastator in the cartoon:

Bloomin heck, 2 pics would have proved your point!

And they would have. I thought you went overboard myself at first, and then I realized why. Now, I don't blame you one bit. Saves two pages of arguments....

So...real talk here.

Let's pretend 3rd party stuff doesn't exist for a sec...

WOW. This is remarkable. They captured all the design cues of the cartoon Devastator pretty well. I hope the plastic quality is alright. I see some stuff that already looks hollow, but that's not much to complain about. Looks good. Will definitely buy.

Now, since SO F'n much was made of comparing this to Herc and Giant...

I'm left completely cold. I think it will be a really nice toy. There is no real comparing this to Herc or Giant because they are playing in different leagues. I kind of wanted to be proven wrong. I kind of wanted to feel like I could pull back from 3rd party combiners, but I think the market lines are set with this.

Please take that as in-offensively as it is meant to be. This will be a good figure and will be much more affordable. But like Superion and Menaser before, it's just apples and oranges.

I can think of a compromise that could have possibly been done to the colors of Boncrusher's treads. Leave the treads themselve unpainted green, while paint purple the details on the insides of the treads, since those are the parts that face forward on Devastator's chest.

If Bonecrusher's legs transform anything like his G1 toy, then the guy would still have the fronts and backs of his legs left green, while the sides of the legs would now be purple.

Hmm. I'll wait for reviews- he looks like he has potential but I want to see for certain before I commit. I'm also kinda bummed that by the looks of things Mixmaster's drum doesn't spin.

That said, this is extremely cartoon accurate and I am interested.

In any case, I'll wait for reviews before deciding between this and Hercules.

he is VERY G1. aside from that mixmaster foot (which doesnt bug me).
its a wonderful looking figure. but poor devy had to live up to A LOT of hype unfortunately, which is why i feel the opinions are so polarizing. aside from what we can confirm right now (that tiny head) i think everyone needs to relax. we dont know what the individual bots are like. we dont know if that foot is mistransformed. we dont know what posability is like. so dont jump to a "glass is half empty" view.

opinions of superion were kinda meh at first reveal. in hand pics made him look better. and actually in our individual grubby hands, people have raved about him! so theres a lot to be said about jumping the gun here. the exact same thing is currently happening with motormaster/menasor right now i might add.

anyways, its very good news for those not in the 3P market, or those that are but dont want to spend 400+ on any given combiner. i have hercules, but im still down for whatever hastak has to offer, with or without a proper place in my collection.

I have a feeling a lot of the disproportion could be from foreshortening that photographing a 3D object can create. I'm hoping at least.

I will say, from this photo, I'm pretty damn excited. Better than any Devy update I own. which is none. so he will definitely have a place in my home.

Hope Toy fair shows us all his pieces in all their modes.

I like what I'm seeing so far, can't wait to see proper in-hand images.

Ooohh, yeah. I like that. There really are a lot of molds that could make RID guys lately.

There's also a lot of repaint potential for the exclusives market. Two different G2 decos they could give him, plus a ROTF deco if they're feeling really cheeky.

If they're smart, they'd go for the Diaclone deco which has both orange/red and yellow. ;)

I am not sure what that was but it looks like an entertaining blast from someones past. That was pretty amazing, and interesting colors.

And aside from the small head, I think he looks awesome!

Also, the arms do look like they are part of the alt modes, hence why they might be small. They need to fit below the vehicle.

Wishful thinking. This sucker will be harder to find than MP-10 was. One look at it says it's a scalper's dream. I'd find a way to order it online

So true its probably going to be a limited production with really high demand. I know this depends on where you live but I was never able to find MP Thundercracker or Metroplex in any store in my area. I had to order online, and I imagine this will be no different.

Because they like the dramatic and high stakes reality that is the 1986 movie.

Hasbro needs to get Devastator to the States quick and stop wasting time in Nuremberg so we can get a decent look at this thing. Everyone knows Europeans don't really buy the toys, but instead opt to just read the crappy literature.

Wow I'm surprised no one else bit othis

You are completely wrong as Me and my fellow Europeans love buying the toys I mean come on we got the G1 toyline for linger with some really nice exclusives ;) it isn't our fault we don't get all the nice ones you get in the states or elsewhere, more we're let down by Hasbro EU who don't seem to want to bring later waves to us For some reason.

Oh and FYI the "crappy literature" is a much better take on the characters then the source material which is just one big toy commercial ;)

Anyway...back to devy, in the UK I don't expect too much trouble with it as metroplex was in for a while

Yup. At the time the Constructicons were "medics" (Hook especially) of some sort, so the SG Constructicons were colored to resemble the Rescue half of the Protectobots.

I don't see FunPub taking that gamble though, as the components alone are too big for sale. Nowadays the Club store figures are all Deluxes.

Because it's not like the comics advertise for the toys, or have become the more or less official Generations toyline toy commercial, rite? All that Alpha Bravo and Powerglide character development in that one issue of Robots in Disguise that essentially only exists to establish that those two are going to be figures that will interact with the new Superion rite? Look, here's Rattrap and Scoop for....some reason lol. Oh yeah, because they got new toys that the comics eventually came packaged with even.

I really enjoy the comics myself, but to try and act like they aren't just a different kind of toy commercial is to ignore the pretty obvious.

It's still competing with their products among people that want a Devastator, and I think being 50-75% cheaper and colossal in height is going to win out over some reduced articulation with a good chunk of people. Especially people that haven't already bought one of the previous two.

Considering 95% of all people that were going to buy Herc or Giant have already done so, this isn't really competing with them. Most the people that haven't bought Herc or Giant by now probably weren't going to anyhow.
