Those are nice! Very dark and realistic.
I have seen these on ebay going for $150 to about $180. IMHO I thihk the price is good, not too high considering the amount of time it takes to do these up like this. Of course depending on your disposable income, it may be high.

Yeah these arent pricey at all. Not to mention how much materials cost and when you work with car paints to get the best and most durable quality finish that tends to cost a bit more then just buying a pot of kids acrylic paint that will chip off as soon as you look at it.

Sorry, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. $150 for a $10 figure (in this case, Jazz), customized or not, it a bit too much IMHO.
Having said that, my opinion should in no way detract from the fact that they do look very nice.

You would die if you saw auctions for Jins' repaints going for $800+ for a $20 toy....And these repaints are FAR superior to his work.

that may be so but jin's auctions start out at like a dollar so that is just high demand for his product...not overcharging from the customizer.

I wasnt saying it was, i was just giving the other poster an example of other custom works that can go even higher since he was disputing the price of these customs.
This customizer isnt overcharging either though if that is what you was implying. Lets see, this customizer actually uses an airbrush, and doesnt just slap dull acrylics over everything.
He actually uses real car paint on his customs, like Bumblebee for example, he even went through all the hassle of getting the actual camaro paint to use on the toy! Now thats dedication and attention to detail for ya.
This also gives a higher quality product since car paint wont chip and or flake off every time you transform the toy, unlike acrylics.
Working with car paints is also more arduous then just dipping a brush in a pot of paint and slapping it over everything. Things need to be taken apart, prepped and masked up.
You need professional materials and skills to work with car paint, just as much as you do to paint a real car.
With all this in mind, and tasking into account the sheer level of raw skill required to make a toy look this good, $150 is a bargain!

I wouldn't say FAR superior. This work is awesome, but its a repaint. Jin makes whole new TF's outta different moulds.
Ok this isnt a Jin war AGAIN. So ignore that.
Great pieces. I'd buy BB if I had some cash.

He makes new characters, not new transformers. The latter would require extensive scratch building which few are capable of.

Technically, all he does is a repaint too, 'cept he sticks on a few extra weapons from other toys here and there and swaps some heads and pieces around...and takes the head off of voyager movie megatron when in alt mode just leaving the ball joint (that really pissed me off ((since i just bought one and i love it)), thats just lazy!

Do you really have to turn every thread into a bas Jin rantfest?

I'm just saying, this thread has nothing to do with Jin.
Why talk about him at all?

It just came up in the conversation regarding the prices of these customs, and that someone commented that $150 for a $10 toy is too much, and i just said that if he thought that was bad then he should know that other repaints like Jin's go for over $800, and then i simply said that these repaints are better than Jin's. The latter being an opinion, the former being a fact which i was just informing the other poster about.

You have to admit, you do try to drag Jin's name through the sludge a lot.
If I didn't know better I'd say you were either jealous of him or you had a man chrush

No its nothing like that. I simply, unlike everyone else, just dont think he is "all that" and when i express this people seem to treat me like i have three eyes or something.
People need to learn and accept that not everyone likes the same things.
I am far from jealous as i have my own re-painting style and techniques which i wouldn't change for anything, i do however think that there are other people out there who are more deserving of the constant ass licking that he gets from everyone. One of those being the OP of this thread, and others include other veterans of this site and kitbash forum and some of them are even complete noobies and they post awesome work, but i digress.

Oh I agree that the OP's works are great.
I just find it ricockulous that you divert so many threads by going off on a antiJin rant.
The mancrush/jealous thing was a joke by the way.

"ricockulous"????

I dont intentionally wake up in the morning and say "hey, im gonna divert a thread to how i dont think jins work is all that great" btw its just that i get sick and tired of everyone and everything being compared to him, or people saying that he is the be all end all of customizing and when that happens i tend to disagree so i simply state my opinion on the matter.
It is usually the people who dont like my stance on his work that divert the thread (kinda like this one) by arguing with me and trying to make me think like they do.
To clarify my stance on the whole Jin thing:
1: People need to be complimented on their own talents and merits, and people need to stop comparing everything to Jins work.
2: Im not saying his work is crap, FAR FAR FAR from it. Do i think it is good? Yes. Do i think he and his work are the be all end all of everything and nobody can possibly do any better like everyone else seems to think for some reason? Certainly not.
