Ah, explains that. He did look super cool with his "angry eye". Not really filling the bot on his back walker tank though.william-james88 wrote:Yes, shockwave is the one people find serviceable and the only one selling out in stores.
Tomatoes, potahtoes - same thing.ZeroWolf wrote:There isn't any Legion class with this line, what you saw and thankfully avoided was the scouts. Also no surprise there with Shockwave, I think everyone knows now that he's the best in the line.
Oh that's right, this line has that spring loaded action figure thing. And all I want is a complete set of *insert universe here* Seekers. Screamer does look cool and if there is any attack gimmick it doesn't seem to compromise the figures, at least at a glance.ZeroWolf wrote:To do that they would have to retool it enough to do the attack gimmick
Everything I saw looked pretty nice with nice sculpting and good paint apps. IIRC, they are a few cyberbucks less than the mainline figures. I'll be cherry picking from the line for sure, you know if PotP and the special editions stop sucking my wallet dry.

Supposedly that's what we're getting, but they're likely tetra jets like from the cartoon if you're OK with that.

You know the irony? All of Shockwave's articulation is a happy accident since the spider tank mode requires all limbs to be able to bend. The rest has barely past the bare minimum for transformation, and in Starscream's case, the legs are a solid chunk for stability when using the gimmick I'm guessing.

Just in case not, here it is:
Unless the thing is on clearance, I will never buy. Once again, it's just a bot with a jetpack.
At least, Grimlock have something original going on.

I know it's more expensive for you Aussies for... reasons, but this is RIDICULOUS. Especially when the CAN and AU $ is pretty much 1:1.

Considering they're right next to POTP deluxes which were (they've been reduced to $29, but they were $35) which are much better looking figures and are slightly more complex, yeah, ridiculous doesn't quite cover it.

I saw some "deluxes" and "ultras" in person and holy crap... Those are Happy Meal toys passing of as legit deluxes and voyagers. A shame.
So far, only the big ultimate class Optimus and Megatron are what I may consider genuine transformers of quality. 40$CAN (one million $ in AU) for a big "leader" figure that is good looking on all sides, have a fun gimmick, and have Cybertron-like plastics is just perfect. How the hell the smaller figures don't have the same level of quality?

Not even a whole bot, just the front of a bot. That's got to be the most hollow thing they've ever tried to pass off as a mass retail transforming figure. Even Cyber Series puts those to shame at roughly the same size, same articulation, and almost half the price.

Cyberverse is not Generations, nor is Warrior Class the same as Deluxe Class (or for that matter, the same as RiD 2015 Warrior Class sadly), and was never meant to be. Cyberverse (and the Bumblebee Movie figures) are gimmicky toys first and foremost, not the high-end articulated figures we've come to expect.
Taking an example from the Bumblebee Movie, the regular line is focused around the Energon Igniter gimmick, while the more articulated figures for the fans are separated and part of the Studio Series, which falls under Generations. With Cyberverse's Action Attack gimmick for its line, we shouldn't really expect anything high-end until for some reason Hasbro announces a Generations line-up after the cartoon takes off

Oh yeah. The hollowness. I tried to burn off the picture from my memory.
I mean, holy crap, we can make a sizable portion of Jell-O in that thing.

I think what's driving some of the discussion is the price that's been charged for these.

I guess gimmickry drives up the price for no apparent reason?
