i forgot who said it, but it is interesting that they can make a 'bot from the movie that looks nothing like the 'bot from said movie. It can't be that difficult to make good TFs---just look at all the 3rd party folks out there that are making amazing TFs. And we are stuck with a company that puts rediculously oversized cheesy weapon systems on robots that might look sorta like they are supposed to look. add in piss poor color choices and viola...a piece of plastic crap!

that being said....I will buy it, and the eventual wheeljack redo. I buy them simply to have the basic characters from the movies, and thats pretty much it for the movie line (and the Animated..but thats just cuz I think that is a rediculous concept....anime..bleah)

Not trying to attack you, but that right there is the problem with fans. You JUST listed how much you dislike the figure...then you go on to tell how you will buy both it AND its repaint. Has/Tak doesn't NEED to try if we as fans eat up all the crap they serve us. I'm personally done with movie figs, so much so that I hope there isn't a 4th movie just so there aren't more figures taking shelf space away from good stuff like Prime and Generations.

I maintain that his head is like that because a few too many of his invention malfunctioned and blew up. THe damage eventually stripped away any and all semblance of a face save for the extreme basics. It's not a bad fig at all. This would be an interesting rework or custom as a deluxe Bludgeon though... :-?

I think I'm more excited for that then the regular TFP Wheeljack figure xD But only by a little. I prefer the Deluxe/voyager guys, but that ship looks pretty damn cool and the fact Jack come with it makes it even more awesome for me. Lol.

Chances are I'll nab both if I have the funds to do so.

yeah, it is nice to see Wheeljack getting some love for a change. Here's to hoping some other characters get revitalized too

Deluxe doesn't have it, but the Voyager (2012) has a light and sound accessory that wouldn't fit into the body, so it is essentially Mechtech.

First any partial auto-transformation is now called AutoMorph, now any springloaded transforming weapon is going to be called MechTech? Ok, I can do that.

Trolling? Wow, I consider myself a pretty nice guy, that's the first time I've ever been accused of trolling.

The reason you haven't seen these weapons in any of the video reviews is they're completely new molds, and we haven't even seen them in physical, in-person form yet, only pictures from Hasbro at NYCC. They were on display at NYCC. Nobody else has them in hand. Cliffjumper is getting a second, completely different mold (third if you count the zombie version) later in the line, as seen here:

But if I'm mistaken that would be a relief. However it's not the spring-loaded gimmick I hate, it's the HUGE intrusive weapons stuck onto the alt modes.

I don't even think Clifjumper comes with that weapon. It wasn't in Peaughs video review, unless they are adding it into the release in the standard edition figures (non-first edition). Even then, I think that is just like that because it has no place to store in vehicle mode, not indicative of the whole line, just the Cliffjumper mold.

Whether it's called Mechtech or not, it's a big, dumb-looking weapon that sits on top of the car in vehicle mode, which is exactly what I hate about Mechtech. And yeah, the Voyager Starscream concepts do show a very Mechtech-like weapon. I only hope it doesn't extend into the entire line.

Let me clarify. I wouldn't have liked the not looking a thing like Wheeljack part of the character but I would have accepted it. The Way he was portrayed and killed off is The overall main reason for this. The others just add to the displeasure. Dino/Mirage however I noticed nothing overall with the characterization that DIDN'T say Mirage (not sure of what did but that is a different discussion) and I would've bought Mirage getting a Ferrari as his alt mode. It fit his somewhat snobbish personality.

Ever since the Human Alliance i havent been a big fan of the deluxe. this figure looks movie accurace but his face a little bland tho.i dot think they should have just called him Que cause thats not wheelejack. but if they do not release a human alliance version of this figure (witch they probably wont) i will happily accept this one into my movie collection. i just hope they go all out on Dino.

I have to say I had high hopes for this figure, but after these pics I am definitely passing.

It's ugly enough, but then they gave him black hair, and in the movie it's white. Then the maid his Pizza cutter weapon, too big, and pea green. Oh yeah, that goes great with Saphire blue. :shock:
