With Toy Fair just hours away, ABCNews.com has posted an article notating all of the toy manufacturers that will be present at the annual convention.
The one thing that the news story seems to focus in on is how toy companies are in the process of switching your everday toylines into entertainment properties. According to the report, 25 percent of all toy sales are in direct relation to licensed properties such as Iron Man and Shrek. These sales were down 27 percent in 2009 from 2008's reported earnings with the exception of Hasbro's Transformers. Sales for Transformers were up over 20 percent from the sales connected to the original 2007 film, helping Transformers become one of the Top 5 properties in 2009, according to the NPD.
Seibertron.com will have continuing coverage on Toy Fair 2010, being held in New York this weekend, so keep your optics locked, right here at Seibertron.com, your Ultimate Transformers Resource!
